Love, love this place for some quality Chinese. We used to dine in but it's just as good to go and right now we love the convenience of delivery. I have to say delivery was so so fast! And our food was piping hot. We ordered the beef and broccoli, orange chicken and veggie chow mein. I love that the orange chicken has a real orange taste and dried orange zest- none of that orange marmalade stuff other restaurants use. They also offer complementary items (egg roll, crab Rangoon or garlic noodles) and we chose the garlic noodles. So our order was a little carb heavy BUT no regrets!! We found this place and gave it a try after seeing that Golden Wok was closed. It was tasty but just okay. We ordered takeout and brought it home so that probably explains the slightly soggy sweet and sour pork and salt and pepper fish. HOWEVER, our biggest issue was the very FEW, SMALL PIECES of duck in the Oceanic Duck. Opening the container all we could see was vegetables drowned in sauce. It was super tasty but there was hardly any duck! Super disappointing. The restaurant gave us two orders of complimentary egg rolls though, which was nice and probably to make up for the lack of duck? Can't complain about free appetizers! Someone must have read my last review because the food has really stepped up. Hubby and I ordered a bunch of different dishes last week and all of them were good, some were downright delicious. In fact, the garlic noodles were so phenomenal that we're getting three orders tonight - thoroughly addicting! Honestly, I could live off of these noodles. We also ordered the Mongolian Beef which was well-spiced and nicely cooked. The Hunan Lemon Shrimp did nothing for me and Pierre's has spoiled me with their Ma Po Bean Curd, but overall we were very pleased with our dinner. We've ordered here a couple times since they have the most reviews for Chinese takeout. We've tried a bunch of dishes from sesame chicken, Hong King crispy noodles, salt & pepper squid to walnut prawns, Mongolian beef and chow fun. I wish the crab Rangoon was a little crispier but It gets soggy in the bag. It's the one thing I always order whenever I want Chinese takeout but overall pretty good if you have a craving. Tonight we decided to eat out and we're craving Chinese food. We decided to go with a new place with good ratings and stats. When my hubby arrived, he said it was a cute family establishment. We were warmed by this. Unfortunately, our experience was not what we thought it would be. The food was bland and didn't live up to our expectations . We ordered shrimp fried rice- absolutely no flavor, non spicy orange chicken- came spicy- which we couldn't give our toddler and it was mostly batter, beef and broccoli- not very flavorful, and crab rations- little filling, no crab, and the dough was tough and rubbery. They did include a side of egg rolls that were on the house which my daughter and hubby enjoyed. Overall we were very disappointed by the quality of food. Ordered drunken chicken (when chicken is steeped in a rice wine sauce) received deep fried chicken topped with garlic and a sweet garlic sauce. I find this to be an exceptional Chinese restaurant. Lots of variety. Beef in beef dishes is really tender - I don't often like broccoli beef dishes because it's so likely one or both parts are rubbery or overly chewy, but this place does one of the best I've had. Fried meat dishes are generally good. Sweet and sour chicken is exceptional. Pineapple and orange chicken are good, but not my favorite. Portion sizes are great - fried rice and 2 entrees for 2 people is a reasonable cost and we always have leftovers for our next meal. Lunch combos and less "anglo" or more traditionally Chinese dishes are all great too. The service is super friendly and attentive and if the place isn't busy, the food comes out unbelievably fast. And probably my favorite thing.. for some reason into my mid-20s I can no longer handle MSG, so for a few years most Chinese restaurants leave me with a headache / hangover feeling often into the next day, even if I pound water. Either they use no MSG here or they use fairly little, because I've never once felt bad after a meal here, where normally I've been fairly sensitive to it. I strongly agree with the other reviewers' assessment that is the best (freshest, tastiest, fanciest??) American Chinese food on the Peninsula. The chicken they use in their chicken dishes has the most amazing char on the outside, giving it a sweet smokiness--try the Kung Pao and see what I mean! As others have already pointed out, the General Tsao is perfectly crisp, and the rice for the Sizzling Rice Soup comes in a separate bag (ensuring you actually get that satisfying sizzle!). The fried wontons are fantastic--obviously handmade fresh, too!--and even the fried rice is just the right amount of "fried," smoky not oily. Oceanic's take on Mango Chicken is also next-level. The crab rangoon is generously overstuffed--which is not my thing, but my friend loved it. No, steamed rice is not included. That's honestly fine with me--I like eating everything with fried rice anyway, hehehehe, while my husband prefers no rice at all--but I do warn all of my houseguests. (Yes, Oceanic is feeding all my visitors.) The only thing I don't think is necessarily their strongest offering is the veggie egg rolls, which they are constantly giving out for free!! I'm pretty sure they're readymade/frozen--which is pretty standard for a lot of family-owned restaurants, or else they'd spend all day on egg rolls--so, although I never order them, I am constantly eating them anyway, lol. I can't deny that they have a nice crispy crunch! I live a few towns away and regularly order delivery online (through Seamless), and my food always arrives piping-hot exactly 45 minutes later. They have never made a mistake with any of our orders, and the food has been consistently delicious for the past year and a half. Although my face-to-face interactions have been limited to deliverypeople, I feel like we have always been treated very well! We have never eaten in the restaurant! We order food online and get it delivered to our home. Their food is consistent and not terribly greasy as other places. We typically enjoy any dish we order, and the kids do, too. I'd go into what we've ordered, but by now it is almost everything on the menu. This is our go to restaurant for Chinese delivery, and prefer it to heading to a closer restaurant near our home. We also love that you get free crab meat rangoon with any order over a certain amount - the kids actually cheer when the food gets here. Try ANYTHING!
