Feast for two, Texas twinkies, slice of brisket

Amazing food and customer service, we were continuously checked in on. Not a single thing we didn't like! The energy inside is lively but not overwhelming.

I was not impressed. My husband's tri tip was perfect, but my half chicken wasn't cooked all the way through. If the temperature gauge was 165, then the meat tasted uncooked. The BBQ sauce was great. The broccoli salad is very tasty. Service was quick they had some side items that were interesting. Pickled radishes and extra BBQ sauce. You bet I took some of those. There is a bartender for mixed drinks which I'm not used to at a BBQ place. I would have liked craft beer and French roll for a tri tip sandwich and a game to watch on a big screen tv. Many large groups come in and reserve tables. Go early on their two days they are open for service. Or take food to go.

We finally got our hands on the brisket from Odell tonight. It was worth the wait. Here's what you need to know: 1. The restaurant is only open on Thursday and Friday. Check hours for seasonal changes. 2. Brisket is only available on Fridays. 3. They WILL sell out hours before closing. That's what kept tripping us up until the very nice staff shared the secret ... 4. Go to the website and place a pre-order. In the comments field say "Dine in" if you want to eat there. We got it to go and it was perfectly packed and delicious.

THE BEST BRISKET IVE HAD SINCE IVE LEFT TEXAS. Everything is fair priced, all the workers are super friendly and nice. ITS SUPER organized and clean, I can't say anything bad about this restaurant even if I tried. BY FAIR ONE OF MY GO-TO SPOTS since I've been in California without hesitation. Don't walk here, RUN!!

The BBQ is legit! Broccoli salad is wonderful. Can't recommend enough. People are welcoming. Sauces are amazing, I tried them all. Well Done.

We have been getting catering from Odell's for about 4-weeks now and they have been wonderful. We did not get the mac & cheese but it is literally heavenly, 5-stars alone for it. Honey Butter Buns - 8/10 Really strong honey flavor, if you dislike honey don't have it. I highly recommend, pillowy dough with a sticky, sweet glaze on it. Trip-Tip - 7/10 The seasoning is really good, so I prefer the end bits. Cooked well, juicy and not dry at all. Would go well with some sauce, but I don't fw barbecue sauce. Chicken - 6/10 Surprisingly moist and dry? Like canned chicken breast texture somehow (like the ones from costco). The taste isn't bad, I quite enjoy it. The skin is an off color and quite chewy but tastes well. Potato Salad - 7/10 A nice potato salad sauce, works well. The potato is nicely looked and it melds together with the dill, celery, and egg. The egg at first was odd but worked well. Pulled Pork - 4/10 Very sweet Broccoli Salad - 8/10 Very good mouthfeel, crisp broccoli with nice sweet bursts of flavor from the sunflower seeds and dried cranberries. The salad has a sweet and tangy dressing which compliments it all very well.

Best BBQ food i've ever had truly! The texas twinkie is my favorite and the broccoli salad is delicious. Everything on their menu is incredible! Had them cater for my wedding and they gave the best service and delicious food that everyone loved. Catering is also very reasonably priced. Wish they were open more than 2 days a week! Soon with the new location hopefully.

I have to tell you , truthfully, I called 10 minutes before they were about to close . I begged the lady on the phone , I need to order something. I gotta try your barbecue I'm only 7 minutes away. So they put together a phone order, I showed up and who was sitting at the table but Joe. You talk about a friendly guy, we sat and chatted. I ended up opening up my meal, calling my sister to come in from the car and sit down. He went in the back and made me some concoction that was out of this world. Here's the thing the Carolina barbecue sauce made with the mustard is so freaking phenomenal. I bought a container of it and brought it home and put it in a glass jar and have been allowing my children to taste it on the back of a spoon and tonight we're actually going to barbecue wings and toss them in it. Hands down "This is the best Carolina honey barbecue sauce" I've ever tasted and I've tasted a lot. Whatever his secret is, I would love to have it cause I want to can it and I'm not sure why he doesn't bottle this and sell it himself. It is literally gold in a bottle. Now, as far as their sweet potatoes, I was so impressed because usually when you go to a barbecue place, they give you orange yams and call them sweet potatoes. Not this guy he had straight yellow sweet potatoes with some type of honey brown sugar goodness dripping over the top. The pork ribs were fantastic and so were the smothered fries with the barbecued pork my Lord just rub it on my hips. The hospitality was phenomenal. He gave me a little bit of his rub that he puts on his ribs. Just so I could smell it and have a sample because I am a chef. I told him he needs to come up to where we're from in Portland, Oregon, and bring his barbecue. Don't miss this spot it's BBq to live for!!!

Smokin'Joe's Barbecue - A Culinary Experience Worth Raving About…read more From the moment you step through the doors of Smokin'Joe's, you're greeted by the comforting aroma of slow‑smoked wood and the warm smiles of a staff that feels more like family than service. It's clear that this isn't just another BBQ joint--it's a celebration of the craft, the community, and the love of great food. The Meat: Unmatched Quality What truly sets Smokin'Joe's apart is its dedication to sourcing the finest cuts. Each slab of brisket, pork shoulder, and rib is hand‑selected for marbling, tenderness, and flavor potential. The result? A melt‑in‑your‑mouth texture that feels almost luxurious. The beef brisket boasts a deep, smoky bark that cracks delicately under a fork, revealing a juicy, pink interior that's been cooked low and slow for hours on end. The pork ribs are fall‑off‑the‑bone tender, with just enough char to give that satisfying bite without overwhelming the natural sweetness of the meat. The Barbecue: Perfection in Every Bite Smokin'Joe's takes pride in its signature rubs and sauces, each crafted to complement--not mask--the natural flavors of the meat. The rubs strike a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and subtle spice, while the house‑made sauce adds a tangy finish that lingers pleasantly on the palate. Whether you opt for the classic hickory smoke or experiment with a hint of mesquite, the consistency across the menu is remarkable: every piece is smoked to a precise temperature, ensuring that the smoky essence penetrates without ever drying out the meat. The Atmosphere: Warm‑Hearted Hospitality Beyond the food, the heart of Smokin'Joe's lies in its people. The staff greet you by name (even if it's your first visit) and take genuine interest in your preferences, offering recommendations tailored to your taste. Their enthusiasm is infectious; you'll find yourself chatting with fellow diners, sharing stories over plates piled high with smoked goodness. The décor--a blend of rustic wood, vintage signage, and subtle nods to classic Southern barbecue culture--creates a cozy, inviting space where you feel right at home. Bottom Line If you're hunting for a barbecue experience that combines top‑tier cuts, masterful smoking techniques, and a community vibe that makes you want to linger long after the last bite, Smokin'Joe's is the place to be. It's not just a meal; it's a celebration of everything good about barbecue--quality, craftsmanship, and heartfelt hospitality--all rolled into one unforgettable dining adventure.

Stopped by CoCo for lunch as we were passing through Redding and we loved it!…read more My friend and I came for lunch around Saturday at 11:30 and it wasn't too busy. They offer Mongolian grill here with a decent selection of meats and huge selection of veggies as well as various sushi options. For the Mongolian, it's $16.99 for lunch for ONE serving only vs $19.99 for AYCE at dinnertime. Obviously if you can, it's much better value to come for dinner as you get all you can eat for only 3 bucks more. Both of us got one serving for the Mongolian grill, which also comes with soup, a bowl of rice, and appetizer (crispy wonton chips in our case). They also give you gloves to wear for the Mongolian bar so everything is very hygienic. The selection of meats, veggies, and sauces for the Mongolian was excellent. For meats they had the basics: beef, pork, chicken, and bacon bits. But the veggies! I was shocked by how many veggie options they had as well as the extensive sauce selection. After cramming as much meat and veggies into my bowl as I could fit, I went with probably 7-8 scoops of various sauces, and I thought that was enough flavor. My friend found his stirfry bland because he didn't include enough sauce, so make sure you're putting enough. I also got the Caterpillar roll ($13.99), which was super soft and creamy and really hit the spot. I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it on top of my noodles, but somehow I managed to find enough space to finish it. Honestly the bowl by itself would've been enough food, but no regrets about getting the extra sushi roll! I haven't had this type of Mongolian grill meal in probably 10+ years, so this meal really hit the spot for both of us. Would highly recommend to anyone living in or passing by Redding!
