I've been here twice and love the cozy atmosphere! Where else can you sink into a couch, eat your food, and play Trivial Pursuit? They also had a cup of crayons and paper for my 4-year-old son to colour. As for the food, it was decent and varied. I had a 1/4 chicken meal with a Caesar salad- the portion was huge and juicy! My partner had a burger and fries. My son enjoyed some plain pita. I liked how the soda and tea was self-serve. Definitely made for a more laid back vibe. Wonderful hidden jewel in the picturesque center of town near the park and the Paso Robles Inn. The wife and I had no idea about the place until we lucked into finding it on a walk through the wine-tasting spots in town. It's super old-fashioned on the inside. Very rustic. I was instantly comfortable. We sat at the back where there is a couch with a big table. You order at the register, and the food is brought to you. Nice employees!! There was an assortment of board games nearby, so we played a bit of trivia while we waited for our orders. We actually went here TWICE in 24 hrs, it was so good. This is one of my daughter's favorite places for a quiet mother daughter lunch or dinner and we have to go at least once when she comes home for a visit. The seating is funky with couches and mismatched tables and chairs but it lends a kind of charm to the atmoshphere. You order your food at the counter, are given a number and then are served at your table. They have some great homemade soups and breads and unique (not your everyday) side salads. They have introduced a new dinner menu that is pretty large, even offering steaks at night. Drinks are self serve and if you want a casual place to go and spend a long, quiet, no rush lunch or dinner this is the place! Or if you are strolling through town after a movie and want to split a decadent, mouthwatering dessert (my favorite is their walnut bars, my daughter's is the carrot cake but there are brownies and lemon bars and 7 layer chocolate cake slices to die for!) and have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, again, this is the place! The Clam chowder is pretty much my favorite and the blue cheese is right up there with all my favorites that I love and I am very picky. I have to say if anyone scores this one under 3 stars i urge you to look at their pattern of scoring places and see that they are just hard to please. Odyssey World Cafe is one of the restaurants I frequent when I'm in Paso when I'm looking for something more casual. Typically I get food to go from here so this review is strictly for the food. I've gotten their reuben before and it's amazing. I ordered the Ahi Tuna salad a few days ago and it was delicious. The tuna was seared to perfection, the salad itself was very fresh and the vinaigrette had the right amount of acidity to it. The wasabi cream had just enough kick (not a huge fan of wasabi, but I still used it) Parking: It can be hit or miss right in front of the resturant but you're bound to find a spot in the area. The breakfast was good, and the bread is nice. That is where I leave things on that. My big gripe with this place is service and coffee! My advice to you is if you do self service coffee, then make sure it is always filled. I went up twice to fill up and the well was dry. So needed to ask them to make coffee, and it just wasn't getting done. I really felt, that since it was self service, then perhaps I should go back and start coffee for them. Come guys it's not that hard. It's breakfast time, just keep it coming. When one type of coffee goes out, create a back up, and so on and so forth. We won't be back. I read a bunch of the reviews and I'm not sure what some of you were expecting...this place is what it is. I've been here many times both by myself and with a few others as well. The food is good, prices are pretty much inline with what you get and as far as service...they bring you your food when it's ready...what else did you want them to do? The turkey swiss is my favorite and they have good iced tea. The little boxes of trivia questions are fun when you're with someone else and it's a decent place to watch people.....like the women whose head looked like a chicken exploded on it that sat at the next table over last time..... if you need constant attention and gratification from your server....I doubt much out there is going to make you happy.......just sayin' read more

This place continues to be a favorite - and it's also our go-to delivery place when we need it. You can't beat the great hearty bread (I otherwise don't bother with bread that much), and every dish we've tried has been quite tasty. We love dining here - you can come as you are - regardless of how dressy or casual. It always feels welcoming. We like the casual nature of ordering at the counter and helping ourself to our own beverages. Great place to stay a while and talk with friends - there's never anyone making you feel pressured to vacate your seat for other parties. I Odessey is my new favorite lunch spot! One of the girls at work recommended Odessey, and I've eaten there three times now for lunch. Everything I've had has been sooo good. The lamb was nice, but the feta cheese made it way too salty. The fries were also over salted. I had a side salad that consisted of fresh greens with balsamic dressing- nice but was drowning in dressing. My friend and I had Asian Chicken Salad and Curry Chicken Salad, both fresh and tasty. We have been here several times before. Unfortunately we were "welcomed" by telling us they stopped serving meals at 8:30 pm and it was now 8:40, but we could order dessert. But when we pointed out it was just after 8 we were allowed to order (as she called back to the kitchen orders coming). After serving our salads, I believe someone asked if we needed anything once. The next encounter we were asked if we needed anything else as staff had already clocked out. Wow. My friend thought they closed at 9. I now see on Yelp the hours now say 8:30. One of the best vegetarian wrap/sandwiches I've ever enjoyed! The wrap was filled with the freshest of vegetables, more spinach than others, which made it crunchy and filling. The hummus and tzaiki sauce acted a a bonding agent to the vegetables so they stayed in the tortilla and cut down on the slimyness some veggie sandwiches can fall victim to. Crispy fries rounded out the meal as well as friendly staff! A very homey atmosphere with art displayed the walls and a self service water station stocked with to-go boxes made things easy.
