I've made two previous trips here to buy a standard HP 64 XL ink cartridge. Both times out of stock. Was told in earlier visits that when they sell one they buy one to replace. Today? Nothing in stock guy again! Great guy named Louis checked and system said they'd just gotten some in that day so he went through all the crates but none could be found. Instead of having to once again buy a small cartridge he sold me two smaller ones and prorated it. If it weren't for Louis this would have been my last trip here. And all with a cheerful attitude. Reading this Office Depot? Louis just saved you a customer. At the register was a very cranky octogenarian who Louis recognized, came to say hello to and let him know he'd set aside a couple of things for him. Cranky pants exclaimed, "What a memory!" When I first laid eyes on the old guy he was complaining loudly for everyone in line to hear. When I left he was a smiles. I had used this office depot before for years and had no problems with print jobs. It was always done efficiently and the quality looked great. I submitted a job a few days ago, but apparently their machine broke and nobody called me. I tried calling numerous times and got the run around by their staff promising a tech would be fixing it (YESTERDAY). Well, he never showed up and nobody called me. They offered to print the job with thinner paper and that looked like crap so we had no prints. Good luck with the awful quality of service. Totally unprofessional. read more

I have been addicted to my new karaoke machine so, naturally i needed space to hold my CD+G files and MP3 files, i look online am pleased to see Office Depot had 32gb for 6.99! I walk into the store located on union st in Auburn,Maine and immediately am greeted with a very pleasant and bubbly hello (it is approx 9:20 am) I am asked if i can be helped very nicely (she was doing something on pc when i came in) I explained my situation and she could not find what i was saying, so she looked it up on the website, she found the one i wanted it said it was in stock but could not be located, so i said "i see the ones for 8.99 that is still reasonable, i will get that it is okay so you don't have to look around everywhere, she smiles and says, i will give it to you for the online price so you can go about your day) Donna was so nice, and released such positive energy that i personally will choose to go to Office Depot instead of dealing with the chaos at Walmart. Most Office Despot's have idiots and/or morons working there, we all get that, BUT this hole is where the truly gifted go. If you look close enough you can see their synapses firing, albeit slowly, you can see it. I had a simple copy job my cat could accomplish and it took them three times, and it actually was still done wrong, but it was good enough for government work. If I can give zero Stat to this place,I would! HORRIBLE experience! ! Today I went to buy a printer. Before I went there I checked online if they have it in stock. I checked a couple more printer to compare. Finally I decided on what I want. I ask for help in finding the printer, it was not available in the display so they need to get from the stock room. The person I asked said that the employee that's assigned in that department is on lunch so I need to wait. I asked how long,he said 30 minutes. I said I can't wait that long, it was already 7pm. So I went in the front and ask if anyone can help me. The cashier said he will call someone and that person will be there in 7 minutes. Time passed nobody came. So I asked again, then finally somebody was going to help me. He came back after 10 minutes and said that he cannot find it!!! SERIOUSLY!!! I am just lost of words at that time, I didn't want to say anything anymore. I wasted almost an hour and a half and the worst part is I went home empty handed!! read more

My roommates and I came here after a trip to Target since they ran out of notebooks. We called previously asking if they had any college ruled notebooks in stock in the store and the worker said that they did. We took an uber to Office Depot only to go to the notebook section and find that there were BARELY any notebooks left. Plus, there were ONLY WIDE RULED notebooks left! As I was walking up to a worker named Jonas I heard him say "Watch the cameras" as he was looking at my friends wandering the store but didn't really think anything of it. I asked him if they had any more college ruled notebooks in stock and that I had called earlier and the associate stated there were. Jonas told me that there was not any more and how there was probably a long line at the registers so the associate probably didn't actually check. WTF, right? How irritating. I told him that I made the trip all the way here only because the associate on the phone stated there were notebooks there! Otherwise I would have one elsewhere! Moreover, my friends were telling me how the whole time we were there they were being watched and followed by Jonas as if we were going to steal something! Reading a previous Yelp review they stated how they probably suspected them for stealing because he wasn't Filipino. Well our group were three Filipinos and one Mexican college students just trying to get supplies for school. It's ridiculous that they made us feel uncomfortable. However, I give one star because my boyfriend asked another associate, a sweet lady if we had a college 3 subject notebook and stock and they gladly got them from the back and gave it to us. They said they were going to restock that night. I found it incredibly rude that the Jonas guy didn't even bother to look. I work in customer service and even when I know that a product might be out of stock or have a low quantity I STILL make an effort to look. I ordered my banner three weeks a go and now it been almost a month I still haven't got it yet. The banner was supposed to shipped to my friend address who live in San Diego. I swear I did give them the address and double check to making sure that the banner was shipped to San Diego before I paid for my ordered and they confirmed. Guess what, today I give them a called regarding my orders why it took longer than a week or 14 days as they been told me, and they said they don't have my address? WTF I did confirmed with them several times before I left. It wasted my time for three weeks and been waiting for my banner, finally I received nothing. I decided to get my refund back and stop going to that store forever. Customer service is so poor even the Printing department manager seems not really care much to the customers. I highly recommended, Please do not go there, better go to the other Office Depot. Hardly any computer desks, and if you find something you like, you have to order it online. Then try to get it delivered! If you aren't home ALL DAY LONG, waiting for them to call, you have to send them a note authorizing them to leave it by your front door. I talked to FOUR PEOPLE asking for the driver to leave the delivery by the front gate. They asked me to leave a note on the front gate, which I forgot to do. So I called again, someone called me, and I had to respond to an e-mail authorizing the driver to leave the delivery by the front gate. When I told her this was the most painful delivery experience I ever had, she didn't get it. That's the crux of the problem folks, they don't get it. read more

My manager and I walked in today because we were in the area and almost debated whether to go to our local store. We are definitely glad we didn't! We walked in with greeters with genuine smiles and a warm welcome. My manager was pleasantly thrown off and asked me "what is up with these people?" We probably walked 5-6 steps before being greeted and helped by the next employee and they led us to exactly what we needed and grabbed the exact items we needed. Not only that, they told us any deals that we could benefit from and my manager even picked up more ink cartridges than needed because of their great customer service plus a free ream of paper and a gift card! She thought she was in Disneyland the whole time and could not believe it was an Office Depot, she wants to go back just to hang out with the staff! She will not step foot into any other Office Depot in the Bay area after this tremendous experience. She even mentioned her experience to the Manager and he was very pleased. This Office Depot has the WORST customer service in their Print & Copy department (maybe the worst I've ever experienced). I went there a couple months back to get business cards printed and stood in line for probably 20 minutes. There were two people helping customers. I get I had to wait my turn but neither of the employees acknowledged me standing there for so long. It's Customer Service 101 to say "I'll be right with you." But NO acknowledgement! Finally I put my order in but the lady who helped me wasn't especially nice and seemed bored with my questions. Also I asked her for specific quotes, ie. printing front side only verses both sides, also glossy verses matte. She kept telling me the cost per card in cents and what additional costs there were. And all I wanted was a total quote! She made me sit there and try to calculate the math on my own. Fast forward, she wrote down the time for pickup the next day and said it wouldn't be a problem. Next day I go in (wait in line a long time again with no acknowledgement). Different people working. I tell them my name and the guy who helped me doesn't even talk! He just had my order paper and was scrolling through the computer for several minutes without filling me in on what was going on. I caught on and said "so is my order not ready?" He's very quiet and doesn't give me a real answer...just "um...uh...no..." After several more minutes I said "it's right there written on the paper the date with the time. So no one looked at that? Or what's the issue?" He never answered. I got so upset I was pulling teeth for answers from these people!! Finally they said come back the next day. I complained to the manager and she ended up giving them to me for free. So I kind of felt better and maybe would give them a second chance. So today I went back to get something else printed. Once again, waited in line (only person) for at least 20 mins with NO acknowledgement. Same guy and one girl I've never seen. They don't even look at you. Finally my turn and the girl didn't have any idea how to deal with my order (simple print job). She walked away from me without saying anything and then the other guy came over and again, no communication and couldn't understand his mumbles. During the "conversation" his previous customer came back to ask more questions after already having left, and he left me to go help her. So again, I'm left waiting with no communication. After all that, he says he can't print my dimensions. I asked to see an example of something similar they had but he didn't have one. He never said anything, just handed my flash drive back and that was it. I will NEVER go back here!! They don't train their staff at all! Not in customer service or in their job skills. I truly dislike giving a bad review, but this time its a must "Victor" is a manager at this location, and I said to him I need to make a purchase but because I have misplaced it, i need you to contact the credit card services so they can give you my account and make the purchase, he not only told me that he couldn't do that but that the only way was That I had to go online and retrieve my information, because "it could be anyone on the phone, I don't know who they are" its not like I provided the phone number to him. He goes and emails his supervisor to see if he is allowed to do that. I do retail and customer service for a living, I told him you only need to call from the store am on the line with the credit card service they are telling me that you can do it that way. He refused to do that, because he thought I was a fraud I was handing him my I.D and my debit card to prove it was me, he just wouldn't do it. Customer service here is absurd!!
