Went we arrive at this restaurant, I notice the place is packed so I was thinking my friends has picked a really good place to eat. It must be good or else it will not be this pack. This place give a good portion and it tasted good. My dish name is (beef sautéed with tacu-tacu) white rice with bean mash together and then in a bowl shape and have just right amount of crisp on it and black beans in the bottom. Then top off with steaks and onion and a pan fried egg that's on point. It was the best among all the other entries ordered by my friends. For the ceviches, they tasted really good too and they gives a good portion. Used to be really good authentic Peruvian. Not so much anymore. My husband is from Peru so we know a thing or two about Peruvian food. We were there with a group on March 9. Ordered several appetizers of yuca a la huancaina. They were ok. The sauce wasn't impressive and not memorable. I ordered anticuchos. The flavor just wasn't right. They were decent, but not good enough for me to finish the entire plate. Someone in our party ordered a causa with tuna. The tuna part of the causa was extremely salty and they actually didn't even eat the center of the dish because of the salt. One guest ordered a Parihuela. For a $17 soup, you would expect it to come loaded with seafood, but we had to send it back. The soup looked like red water with a few calamari rings. When they brought it back, they had added a few more calamari rings, but not much else in there. We counted a few tiny pieces of fish, one extremely small mussel, and that was about it. My husband ordered a ceviche and he said it was just ok. We could definitely make a better one at home. A few people ordered pollo saltado, which was the only decent dish at the whole table. At the end of the meal we had to practically beg someone to clear the dirty dishes. There is nothing worse than finishing a meal and having to sit and talk over a table full of dirty plates. The server was ok, did take a while to get the food and then it wasn't even that good. I'd wait if the food was excellent, but unfortunately it just isn't good here anymore. read more

I've been here many times even prior to the new ownership and I've been satisfied. I recall the previous owners used to automatically include tip in ALL parties and this would cause "double tipping" of course benefiting the servers but deceiving the patrons. The new ownership is just as shady! We arrive today for lunch and the server hands us the regular menu and we ask about the lunch menu she says, "oh your waitress will tell you our specials" when our server arrives she just stands there so we asked "where's the lunch menu" she says "oh we don't have an actual menu but I can tell you our specials" Long story short, they're very shady and sneaky. I'm not complaining about spending money, after all dining out is a luxury. I just don't like to be played for a fool. The menus should be transparent for the customers informing them of the daily specials instead of trying to trick them into ordering from the standard menu. Although the food is good, the fact that they intentionally try to hide the lunch specials from customers is disturbing. I won't return! You get more out of your customers when you're honest with them. We were even short changed today, but decided not to say anything and just deduct it from their tip. read more

I am always looking for Peruvian restaurants and I was happy to see that a Peruvian restaurant made Broward's top 50 list at the end of 2016 on Yelp. As a matter of fact, I think they were top 5th and I am ashamed of myself for putting this place off for so long. It was actually really random how I ended up here, a friend of mine had asked me about this place and I had said it was on my list of places to visit soon, and here I was a few hours later. I went on a Sunday evening around 6:00PM and was happy to see that the restaurant was busy, always a good sign. We were sat immediately and a hot side of canchita was given to us promptly, a Peruvian standard for getting your appetite going. There were lots of Peruvian staples on the menu like Ceviche, seco de res, lomo saltado, tallarines verdes con bistec, conchitas a la parmesana, pescado a lo macho, etc. Yes that was Peruvian talk for all my peeps wondering! Being on a calorie budget and in "fit life" mode I did not want to splurge and get something heavy so I opted for light and healthy. Tiradito was the first thing we ordered. It is similar to ceviche but instead of fish chunks, its thin sliced pieces. Imagine sashimi cooked in ceviche sauce, that's tiradito. It was served in a cute fish bowl and smothered in three sauces, rocoto, clasico and aji. Very fresh, delicious and it is a must have for all my ceviche lovers! Conchitas a la Parmesana was next. I believe it was 6 or 7 shells with a scallop on top smothered with Parmesan cheese and baked to perfection. The cheese was delicious, it was golden brown, crisp but gooey, everything you would expect! My only suggestion for the restaurant is that they should use sea scallops instead of bay scallops. I would definitely pay extra dough to have it served that way! My girlfriend always gets lomo saltado. I told her she needed to try something different. Seco de res was on the menu, not something you see every day at a Peruvian restaurant. When I see seco on the menu, it means it is a true Peruvian restaurant, it is a very niche dish. Basically a beef stew Peruvian style using criollo sauces. The beef almost melted in your mouth, that's how tender and juicy it was. The sauces blended perfectly with the rice and it was served with white beans. If you have not tried this, what are you waiting for? Dessert you asked? Yes we cave in and tried a passion fruit mousse. It was sweet and delicate with whipped cream on top and a cherry. Not something over powering but light and refreshing. The owner came up to our table and introduced herself, thanked us for coming and giving her restaurant a shot and happy to see we heard about Oh Ceviche from Yelp. She was a very sweet lady and I am looking forward to come again and give their Tallarines verdes con bistek and ceviche a shot! Who wants to come with me!? read more

This review is based off a takeout order delivered by UberEats. I ordered one of my favorite dishes, arroz con mariscos. The plate was prepared and finished in a timely manner and packaged well. Upon opening the box I was pleasantly surprised by the portion as it was pretty large and not a 1 meal size. The dish satisfied my cravings as it tasted flavorful and the rice was cooked well. It also had a good amount of calamari and shrimp, but it would have been nice to see some other finish included. We had the jalea as an appetizer and all of the seafood was stellar, the flavors were vibrant and fantastic. I had the Tacu Tacu with Lomo Saltado, this was the best version of the dish I've had. You gotta try their's Tiger's Milk, which is their appetizer sized ceviche served in a tall martini-like glass. The ceviche is swimming in its light citrusy juices. They serve it with a side of their corn kernels and the sweet potato. While it's just an appetizer, it's a good size portion that can be very satisfying all by itself. Another good ceviche dish is their Corvina ceviche which is one of their signature ceviche dishes. The corvina fish is marinated in lime, onion and spices, served with a side of sweet potato and corn kernels. It is a much bigger serving than the Tiger's Milk. Finally, you gotta try their Chaufa de Moriscos, which is shrimp, octopus, calamari and mussels sautéed with rice, soy sauce, sesame oil and spices. It has to be one of THE MOST delicious fried rice dishes I have ever tried. Ever! This is a family-owned and run restaurant. Our server explained that their mom refuses to cut corners and is adamant about keeping their high standards of good quality food. The last time I had ceviche good enough to brag about, I had to drive to South Beach to get it. So I'm glad this option was much closer. We were able to make a reservation even though it was a small-ish place. Small in that it was quaint and cozy but they can definitely accommodate a family style crowd. They only have mostly beer and wine options and their signature Pisco Sour. Our group ordered various menu items but in my normal tradition I always ask the staff what their favorite food item is. Thankfully the owner was our server and she suggested the Ceviche Mixto which is a mix off all their seafood; shrimp, mussels, fish, calamari, etc. So I had a chance to try everything! This dish was so fresh and delicious and served in a huge portion. I love the effervescent lime flavor in a ceviche dish and this was surely not lacking. I recommend sharing this someone possibly with another dish. I was hungry enough to eat it by myself but they had so many other amazing menu items I feel like I missed out on a lot. The fried seafood was something I also got to try a bit of. It was similar to a Chinese version of fried rice but with much more flavor and yummy fresh seafood mixed in. I would definitely order this for myself again in the future but this was also a huge portion! The staff was phenomenal! So friendly and definitely made a group effort to tend to our party and even accommodated splitting the check for our large group which was greatly appreciated. The owner/server (who spoke Spanish as well as English) was very friendly with everyone at my table and very attentive. The Peruvian food is delicious and very authentic. We brought our own bottle of wine. The server brought us a bucket of ice and wine glasses. As we munched on Canchita (peruvian popcorn) the owner had a friendly chat with us while she opened our wine bottle. The appetizers came out with a nice presentation. I had Causa stuffed with tuna, and Mussels a la Chalaca. The mussels a la Chalaca were extra tangy, very enjoyable. My main course, Fish "A Lo Macho", was everything i was expecting. Drowned in delicious sauce and served with rice. After we finished eating, the owner offered us a complimentary desert (Picarones). Peruvian doughnuts covered in honey. Beer and wine are not on the menu but if you ask, they have a handful of beers and wine bottles. A bottle of house wine is $24 or you can bring your own for $10. You can make a reservation but when we arrived there was only one other group. A couple more groups showed up a little later but there were still a lot of empty tables. I'm glad i found Oh Ceviche. Just had the most AMAZING experience here (in fact I am still sitting here, haha). The service is *top notch.* The waitress explained what everything was to us (we don't have Peruvian cuisine in Michigan as far as I know- and if we do, someone please tell me where!) and gave recommendations. The owner came by a lot to check in on how we were doing and was such a sweetie! After we finished our huge meal, the waitress brought a passion fruit mousse- on the house! It was so delicious that I could only close my eyes in pleasure when she asked us how we liked it. I didn't see it on the menu but trust me, you want this mousse. In fact, you probably want to try EVERYTHING on the menu- I do! The food was just fantastic. They really went above and beyond. I'll be dreaming of their mixed ceviche until the next time I am in Miami. It's so good that I cant even describe it- "succulent" comes to mind. The squid was soft and not rubbery at all- major props for that. The octopus was delicious, the shrimp causa was yummy and if you're Russian- it tastes like olivye salad (lots of potato and mayonnaise action), cilantro beef stew was filling and comforting. We went here on Saturday night and were very satisfied the quality of the food. We thought that the prices were a little steep for the plate sizes but blown away by the arroz chaufa and the tacu tacu. We wanted more! We will be coming back for sure. Just one thing that needs improvement. The restaurant would receive five stars from us if the service was as good as the food. There were two very nice but absent minded servers working this evening.
