Why 5 stars? Because this is the best Lomo Saltado I've ever had. --- --- --- This meal was truly special. The biggest compliment I can offer is that I ordered lomo saltado recently at another place, purely based off of my fond memories of how wonderful it was at Oh Ceviche. It didn't hold a candle. It seems simple enough. Marinated steak, sauteed veggies, rice and french fries. However, it tastes anything but simple. I will forever dream of how wonderful this meal was, and will absolutely be back on my next visit to the area. To start, we scored appeared to be un-popped popcorn kernels. I don't know what they were actually called, but they were quite addicting. The Anticucho de corazon was top notch too! My pal Blue also recommended we order this other thing, which I knew very little about. It was called Papa a la Huancaina. It kind of looked like a big plate of eggs or something. The color looked like yolk and it was spread out across potatoes. It's definitely unique, but I did enjoy it. If you have texture issues, you will probably want to stay away. We had some kind of leche cake for dessert and it was as perfect as just about everything else. Our server was super sweet. Like I said - everything was perfect. This spot is very non-descript and in the middle of a shopping center. It's the perfect example of a place I never would have looked twice at, if it wasn't for Yelp. Place was full around 7:30 pm Sunday night. We were seated right away. Service tends to be on the slow side, but attentive nonetheless. We had a ceviche mixto to start. The waiter explained that they use swai for the ceviches but that we could opt for corvina instead for a higher price which we did as I'm not a fan of farmed raise fresh water fish. The ceviche was good, the fish tasted fresh and the seafood was just ok. We also had their octopus anticuchado as an appetizer and that was probably the best thing we had all night. Their lemonade goes well with the food so I highly recommend getting that as well. The pescado a lo macho and lomo saltado were our entrees. The pescado a lo macho with grouper was very filling, not the best we've had but well made with the fried yuca as well. The lomo saltado was also good but the sauce seemed to have a bit too much soy sauce and their rice was not to my liking. Overall the food was decent. I would probably go back and try a couple other dishes if I'm around the area. read more

One word AUTHENTIC This was my first time coming and let me tell you .. it did not disappoint. The ceviche was so delicious, and spicy! But that's by choice. It was so unbelievably fresh! It's a very casual place, nothing fancy but very cute and clean. This place was tiny but so cozy. The waitress greeted us as soon as we walked in, we didn't even have to wait. It wasn't very busy but I'm not sure how crazy packed it may get on a Friday or Saturday because this food is DELICIOUS! We ordered leche de Tigre and all I can say is order more than one. The picante de mariscos hit the spot, I'm a sucker for seafood and this dish is at the top of my list! Not very spicy it was just perfect, from the fired yuca to the calamari and shrimp smothered in creamy lobster sauce. Worth every bite! I ordered a lemonade and definitely wasn't expecting fresh squeezed or so it tasted. Finish your meal off with a desert and you won't regret it. Going the first time to a place that you have not heard of can be a little nervous. We checked the reviews and decided to give it a try. We loved it! The food is amazing and the service impecable. We ordered Ceviche de Corvina to start incredible! For our main dishes we ordered Pescado a lo Macho and Pollo Saltado. Delicious! Presentation and portions were perfect. We ended our experience with a fresh home made chocolate cake. The servers took the time to explain the menu, the dishes, and even the flavors. There was a lady who went to all the tables to check on them, we think she is the owner. Nice touch! You don't see that on a busy restaurant. This is definitively what I like to call and "up and coming force". On my one visit, I was very satisfied with everything I had. I saw a lot of twists on traditional dishes that made the offerings pretty clever and interesting, and the portions certainly did not skimp. Oh Ceviche is a pretty good restaurant. With that said, and if you are wondering why not 5 stars, here is the disclosure. I did not find any dishes that delivered that punch, that flavor that drives your taste buds crazy. Then again, everything was in perfect order. We ordered a carafe of chicha morada (pretty good), a traditional ceviche (pretty good), a jalea (really good), a tallarin verde w/ steak (good), a side of tacu tacu (good). To finish we ordered picarones (pretty good). As you can see, it is a pretty good place, with a nice menu, yet to my taste a tad behind the 5 stars, without factoring in location and service. When I'm with my friend, Federico, a chef from Machu Picchu, I'm always hunting down Peruvian restaurants in order that he might educate me on some of the finer points of Peruvian cuisine. With the help of Yelp (Thank you, Yelp), I located Oh Ceviche, and I must say all of the reviews were spot on and I was impressed with the place. I found Oh Ceviche to have a most relaxing, comfortable atmosphere about it. It's spotlessly clean and my service was good. For a drink, I ordered their in house made white sangria which I found to be exceptionally good and for an appetizer a calamari. When served the calamari not only had a good appearance but was both tender, properly prepared, and tasty. For my main, I had their tilapia which couldn't have been better or tastier along with what to me were some mystery greens with what seemed like strings of pasta that I found to also be very good. At the conclusion of my meal I was presented with a complimentary dessert resembling a donut but what proved to be far better than in taste and texture than any donut; a really nice thoughtful gesture on the part of Oh Ceviche. read more

I LOVED my food experience at Oh Ceviche. After a VERY exhausting red eye flight, where I spent a better part of the evening uncomfortably trying to get some rest at SF Airport, I was very much looking forward to settling down to a good meal. My sis suggested Peruvian food, so off we went! THE MOOD: On a Saturday evening, the place was packed so I knew it had to be good. Our party of 5 got seated immediately. Oh Ceviche is discreetly tucked into a plaza and if not for my sister already scoping out the Ft. Lauderdale scene, I would not have found my way here. The restaurant is dimly lit, which provides for comfortable dining. THE FOOD: Welp, we didn't hold back. Our group ordered the following: 1. Ceviche Mixto ($16): This ceviche dish comes with medium pieces of fish, shrimp, octopus, calamari and mussels marinated in lime, aji limo, onion and spices, served with sweet potatoes and corn. 2. Sapghetti Al Pesto With Skirt Steak ($17): This is a pasta dish with a pesto sauce, served with grilled steak and golden potatoes. 3. Beef Sauteed With Tacu-Tacu ($17): Beef sauteed and served with tacu-tacu (a crispy combination of white rice and beans) and a fried egg. 4. Spicy Seafood Stew ($14): Seafood in a sauce of combination of Peruvian peppers, served with white rice, fried yuca, egg and olive. 5. Seafood Fried Rice ($15): Shrimp, octopus, calamari and mussels sauteed in a wok with rice, soy sauce, sesame oil and spices. 6. Chicken Spaghetti ($12): Spaghetti sauteed "a la criolla" with chicken, onions, tomatoes, peppers, scallions and soy sauce. Out of these dishes, my absolute favorites were the Ceviche Mix and Seafood Fried Rice. The Ceviche was so fresh and I loved the bits pieces of corn with the lime juices and fresh fish. It was really refreshing to eat every time I took a bite. The Seafood Fried Rice is also a must get if you come here. The dish comes out jammed packed with flavor and each bite is better than the last! THE 'TUDE: Service here was excellent. Everyone was super attentive and the owner even came over especially to say hi and thank us for visiting her restaurant at the end of our meal. You really don't get that kind of personalized service nowadays. I found it to be a really refreshing way to connect with patrons. OVERALL: The mood, the food, and the 'tude are all on point here at Oh Ceviche. Always on the hunt for good ceviche I whipped out the Yelp app and found Oh Ceviche not too far from my house. I headed over for a midweek dinner. The place was almost empty, only two other tables. It's not too large so in sure on the weekend they get picked. Ceviche corvina - I sprung the few extra bucks for the corvina - and it was worth it. This is one of the larger servings of ceviche I have seen at a restaurant. It was delicious and had a generous serving of sweet potato. It also comes with choclo- a large kernel corn (I love that stuff!) Papa a la huancaina - started off with this and the sauce was delicious! The potatoes were a little warm...I'm used to this dish being super cold. All good. DAT SAUCE! Lomo saltado - another massive dish. It's sautéed beef over potatoes with white rice on the side. I know you are thinking...but don't the French fries get soggy? Yes. Yes they do. And it's amazing! They soak up the sauce and it's heavenly. Peruvian food is always a little pricer than your traditional fare, because they use high quality stuff. I'm alright paying a premium for really good food - that won't really break the bank too bad. Oh Cerviche! Oh no! You pretty much have all 5 star reviews but sorry, you just did not do it for me! I was expecting so much, especially from the Cerviche for whic you are named, but you really let me down! Only 21/2 stars for me. I ordered the Fish Cerviche ($12). I am not sure what type of fish it was. The server tried to up sell me on the Corvina Cerviche for $16. Maybe I should have listened to her? The Cerviche I received looked like it had been ripped apart (apparently whoever made it had no knife skills). The taste of the marinade was fair. I ordered the Cerviche as my main dish and I could not finish it because it really did not appeal to me. Usually if I have excellent Cerviche, I can finish the fish and slump up the sauce as well! My advice: if you are looking for great Cerviche, head down University to Sr. Cerviche. I also ordered Pappas Rellenas....another dud. These were served lukewarm on the outside and cold on the inside. I could barely taste the flavor of the stuffing inside because there hardly was any stuffing. Oh Cerviche's saving grace was Husband's dish, the Lomo Saltado, which was excellent! The meat was tender and the sauce had a superb flavor. Still hungry, I devoured the rice and sauce! I have to admit this Lomo Saltado was far better than the same dish at Sr. Cerviche. The service was okay. Our server seemed much more interested in the large party next to us. The owner came over to see if everything was okay and to explain that they were a new restaurant. I'm not sure why we didn't except that it was late and I really wanted to get home. I came to this place craving for a good lomo saltado. I decided to check on Yelp. The place is not that big, the decoration is very basic and you will not have a problem finding parking. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted by the waitress who provided me with the two menus (lunch specials and regular menu). I decided to ordered the "Executive Menu" Papa a la huancahina, lomo saltado, to drink chicha morada (I am a FAN) and for dessert mazamorra morada with arroz con leche. As I peruvian, I must say that the food was very good. The only comment is that I mazamorra morada con the arroz con leche should be served warm. It is difficult to evaluate the taste and you really do not enjoy it as much as when it is warm. read more

7/16/2016 - With so many Peruvian restaurants in Broward, it is hard to just pick one....and a good one at best! Well, Oh Ceviche is an EXCELLENT choice. I called the restaurant for a reservation for 7 of us at 7pm. They were highly accommodating and very nice when I called. This was our "LADIES NIGHT" dinner. Our server was the owner and creator of all recipes. When in a Peruvian restaurant...you have to try their PISCO SOUR. It was served in a martini glass and it was just the right amount of sour and foamy at the top. my friend and I decided to share our dishes and split our check since she also had the Pisco Sour. When the owner came around for our order, I told her that my friend and I would be on one check together. We ordered the CEVICHE MIXTO, medium pieces of fish, shrimp, octopus, calamari and mussels marinated in lime, aji limo, onion and spices, served with sweet potatoes and corn ($16) and the CHAUFA DE PESCADO, fish sautéed in a wok with rice, soy sauce, sesame oil and spices ($13). The Ceviche Mixto was amazing!!! The seafood was perfectly marinated in citrus juice. The dish was so colorful and flavorful with the bright corn and sweet potato. I also loved the Chaufa de Pescado and so did the entire table. Luckily for us, the portion was big enough to share as the dish kept being passed by all. I did try other dishes like the Pescado a lo Macho, it was phenomenal, the sauced used in this dish was a winner in my book. Other dish was the Lomo a lo Pobre, the skirt steak was tender, this was a huge portion. Once we were done, we had an issue with the bill not being split. I was the only one from our party that explained to the owner that my friend and I were on a separate check. But all the items were together. We explained to them who had what and how to split the bill. When it arrived for the 2nd time, some were wrong so one of our friends went to the register with the bills and helped with them. I tried Oh Ceviche for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! We ordered takeout -- chaufa seafood rice, pescado jalea, and pescado ceviche. The rice & jalea were great and the green sauce made it even better. The pescado was good but not great, I've had better. out of the 3 items we ordered the only thing we can say was worth the money was the papa rellena. the pollo saltado was horrible... the sauce was not helping either as it didn't taste anything like peruvian pollo saltado (i'm peruvian) it was lackluster. the empanadas de ahí de gallina could've been made better as well but we did eat those... points for juiciness. overall, papa rellena (9/10) pollo saltado (2/10) empanadas (6/10). we ordered takeout by the way so we can't say anything regarding service. read more

Even with a party of four, we couldn't finish it all. *Ceviche de Pescado ($13.99): Probably my favorite, this dish came out with fresh fish "cooked" lime and aji limo. Peruvian food has always been one of my favorites, so when I found out we were having a ladies night and starting it out at Oh Ceviche I was beyond thrilled! As soon as I arrived the staff attentive seated me right away and took my drink order. The inside of the restaurant was very cute and cleanly. When the menu came is was tough to choose from all of the many options, While deciphering between the Lomo Saltsdo (steak and fries) or the Pescado a lo Macho (fish fillet with mixed seafood) I ultimately decided to go with the fish. So glad I did Bc It was absolutely mouth watering! The fillet was crispy, but not overly breaded and greasy and the mixed seafood consisted of octopus, squid and mussels. The best thing about it though was the velvety sauce! I asked the server what ingredients were used in the perpetration of the sauce and she told me: butter (obviously) peppers, wine and garlic among other spices. Things got even more delicious when I decided to dip my girlfriends French fries in the sauce! I'm so happy I found this place in our neighborhood! But also, so sad it took me so long! I ordered the Corvina ceviche and the lomo saltado. I loved that the ceviche was made with corvina and not some cheap white fish that other restaurants use. The lomo saltado was delicious. My husband and I shared both entrees and it was plenty of food. We ordered on Uber Eats. The packaging was great. You wouldn't expect such a low-key place to be serving up such great food, but they totally do! The seating area is small, and around 12 pm when we arrived most of the tables were full. I took that as a great sign. We ordered classic ceviche, papas a la juancaina, lomo saltado and a jalea. The portions here are plentiful and the food is really delicious. The Jalea is a great sharing dish - its a mixture of fried seafood with some dipping sauces. I would recommend asking for extra dipping sauces as the creaminess of the sauce is the perfect pair to the fried food. The ceviche is very fresh and lomo saltado is solid. Portions are quite large - so I'd suggest ordering a few things and sharing so you can try a bunch of stuff. One thing I would say is that it is a little hot in the restaurant, not sure if its because it was full or what, but I was definitely toasty! We were presented with a heaping pile of bite-size fish nuggets, lightly breaded and juicy on the inside. We couldnt finish it but it was delicious. It was served with limes, tartar sauce and Huancaina sauce (green; spicy). I ordered Lomo a lo Pobre: white rice, fried yuca, French fries, and a steak topped with a fried egg. Such an authentic place! No fuss about decor but food was pretty awesome. Served the typical fried corn kernels, very very addicting. We had some lunch entrees, which were incredibly generous portions, and we tried everything from ceviche to lomo saltado, and churrasco. We were all very satisfied! Have ate at this place a few times as it is nearby home. The food is good and the staff is extremely nice and accommodating. My boyfriend and I decided to try to pick up some to go food on Valentine's Day ( please see pictures below ) and the food was amazing! When we got home and opened up our food containers it was the same portion you would get as if you were sitting at the restaurant and it had the same fresh taste.
