We went there last Saturday with hopes it might be really good. It's bigger than I thought and very busy but not to the point we're there is a line outside. Good. There is a nice set up with everything you want. But the place felt chaotic. Service was trying their best but seemed overwhelmed without any clear direction. I feel it needs a stronger and clearer hand from management. And better trained lead personnel. The food is decent but a bunch of croissants looked under baked. Like they were rushed out to fill demand. I will give another try but it looks like business that could close soon if it doesn't get it act together. I loved their Turkey sandwiches but now they made them smaller but packed them with more Turkey which sounds good but before I'd eat half a sandwich and have the other half later and it was perfectly made. Now it's not 2 halves but one slightly bigger half which is so grossly stuffed with Turkey you can barely put it in your mouth. Oh la la this was disappointing. Food was sparse and expensive. Avocado toast looked like a smear of avocado. Croque Monsieur had a sliver of ham, three strands of cheese and no béchamel sauce to be noted - basically two pieces of toast with a poached egg (paid extra for) on top. I really enjoy this restaurant. I've had delivery several times, and each time has been really yummy. I really enjoy the breakfast croissant, just scrambled eggs with melted cheese. The croissant is super fresh and flakey, and the cheese super melted. It comes with arugula, but I leave that for someone else. It always arrives hot and before the scheduled time. Just ate there today 03-10-2024 Sunday . Food was decent , way too over priced . We ordered just 4 items and totaled up to 87.00 dollars . Little to find out they charge a 4% up charge , and a healthy fee another 3.50 . That's not including tip at all. I asked the gentleman on the register what was that for ? All he said was you can also include tip ? I was like huh ? The whole tipping thing is ridiculous. My bill went from 87 to 91 dollars just on a burger , toast with eggs and two drinks ! This was like around 10:30 am on a Sunday. I waited for a pretty long amount of time, maybe about 30 mins (there was no people in the cafe), but the front door staff were really nice and accommodating. I ended up getting the breakfast croissant with the brioche bun and it was really delicious. If you guys are mean to the staff, shame on you. You're the problem! I got the almond croissant. Before even taking it out of the bag, something felt off. The weight of the bag seemed heavy, which it shouldn't be. Soaking it in syrup makes no sense. A good almond croissant should not be so heavy. There was too much frangipane filling, which killed it for me. Croissants should be airy, flaky and light. This was total opposite. I was shocked knowing the pastry chef studied abroad in France or that the owners are French. I'll stick to good almond croissants from local SoCal bakeries like Tartine, République, or Gjusta.
