The menu is large enough that it would please just about anyone, but small enough that what is on it is done well. I dined with three others and we enjoyed our cocktails and what we ordered for our dinner. The whiskey smash was a neat drink that tasted like a whiskey-sour/manhattan twister. This is our second time at this restaurant. We were early so there weren't very many people there. We were able to have cocktails outside as the Syracuse weather allowed us LOL. He was our waiter/bartender/host and I'm pretty sure I could see him preparing food in the back. He was so overworked that he gave thee lousiest service to us. Just walking in, it looks like a quaint little place with lots of character and a nice atmosphere. The front of house staff were a little odd as the greeter stood in front of me and stared versus asking if I'd like to be seated. So I had to ask if I could be seated. The wait staff were very nice and attentive. Note: on Saturdays they close their kitchen for an hour at 2:30 while they flip from brunch to dinner so if you get there before that time you're good. Otherwise you'll be turned away and asked to return at 3:30. I ordered the shrimp and grits and a mimosa. There is a half and a full Size option. The half has 3 shrimp and the full has 5. They are nice sized shrimp but the portion of grits to shrimp is off. The bowl it's served in is deep so you lose your shrimp as you try to cut the shells off. So it makes for a slightly messy experience but overall has really good taste. I'm interested to try this place again. It has a southern feel in the north. read more

This place has so much potential, it saddens me to give it 2 stars. It is beautiful inside, and my 2 stars are for the service alone. The food though, needs some serious work. I have been twice, and each time the food has been severely undercooked to the point that it is nearly inedible. The last time I visited, I had the salmon with corn risotto and roasted mixed vegetables. The vegetables were barely cooked and my salmon was completely raw in the middle; I had to send it back. They were very accommodating with this and reheated my meal. My husband had the cacio e Pepe, made with bucatini- it was not cooked enough and was almost crunchy. This is the PERFECT spot for a pre-show dinner. We arrived early, but had not made a reservation and were very lucky there was a table available - always make a reservation! The food and the service was STELLAR, perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. There are may types of dishes available for all tastes. I had the honey fried chicken with mac and cheese and corn risotto, and my friend had the salmon. Spinich and artichoke dip was a little spicy, but we enjoyed it very much. Let me start by saying this place is really cute and trendy. I don't love the set up on one side it seems like the tables are super tight and the other side is very spread out. It seems like it could be set up more comfortably. The drinks sounded amazing but nothing amazing once they arrived. The fried pickles and artichoke dip were very good and surprisingly not super heavy. I got the cacio e Pepe with salmon and it was very good. The salmon was cooked perfect. My friends who got the rosemary hot honey chicken said it was amazing. Someone in our group got the cauliflower steak and was kind of disappointed as they said it lacked flavor. Lastly someone got the scallops and corn risotto which looked beautiful and tasted good but could have also used some more seasoning. After dinner we went down to the Fritz which is a cute speakeasy. I liked the set up and he live music was very good. The drinks again were expensive and fancy sounding but not super amazing. Arrived at 6:30 for an 8:00 Wednesday night show. Not sure if they were understaffed but service was incredibly slow and we almost didn't make the show. Our waitress was wonderful but the food certainly was lacking. One in our party saw a salad advertised on their website and was excited to get it. When it arrived, it was solely a plate of lettuce and walnuts. The waitress then told her they ran out of all the other ingredients but served the dish anyway. Oh My Darling is right! This place is a cute little upscale bistro meets casual fine dining. I visited Oh My Darling twice in September 2019 to try and get some work done. The atmosphere is great for that--relatively quiet, there are plenty of outlets, and the tables are large enough to fit all your work materials (read laptop plus a notebook) without having so much space left over that you feel guilty for taking up a lot of seating. One issue though with trying to work--they do not have public wifi at this location because they want you to be present with your co-diners and your food, harkening back to simpler times before we were all guilty of taking pictures of the menus and our meals #yelplife. The service was fantastic! Everyone checked in on me enough to feel valued, and not to the point that I felt suffocated by kindness. My first visit was simply because I wanted to eat some dessert. And because I don't have any sense of self-control, I decided to order two things. I started with the New York Cheesecake, which was divine in and of itself. The lemon curd and berry coulis took this dish over the top. I appreciated the little bursts of fresh lemon zest in the curd and the tang in the coulis. Trust me when I say you want a little bit of both for that perfect bite. The second dish I ordered was the Deep Dish Cookie. Also delicious, but a little less than the cheesecake. I think mostly because I got overly excited and burned the roof of my mouth on a hot bite of cookie without having enough ice-cream to form a barrier. I also wish there had been more chocolate chips in the cookie itself. A few days later, I returned for dinner and ordered their Cacio E Pepe. It's a super simple dish: bucatini pasta, cracked black pepper, and shredded parm. There's a beauty in eating a dish that is so bare bones, not fussy, and straightforward. And because there are no bells and whistles, it has to be made just right to stand on its own. If you find yourself in Downtown Syracuse with a hankering for some food, check out Oh My Darling. I really wanted to love this place. The atmosphere and vibe is really great, a nice addition to the downtown Syracuse dining scene. But the food left much to be desired. The burger sounded promising - came with a goat cheese croquette and onion jam. First, the good news: the burger was cooked to order nicely and the onion jam was great. I love goat cheese but the croquette was thicker than the burger and completely overwhelmed the burger - I couldn't taste anything else except a little sweetness from the onion jam. And the bread - I hated it. I don't know why they think a thin English muffin like panini style bread is the best choice for that burger, but it's not. The truffle fries were ok - could've used more salt. The sweet potato fries were pretty good and I loved the dipping sauce. I was excited to try the hot honey fried chicken. First off, it's not hot - not even a little bit. Zero spice. No crunch on the fried chicken either. It was moist and the flavor was just ok--- it didn't deliver overall. The Mac and cheese was adequate and the Brussel sprouts were good - best thing on that dish. Oddly they put a paper napkin under the Mac and cheese skillet (maybe to keep it from sliding?), but then the Brussel sprouts ended up on top of wet soggy napkin. That's not well thought through. Service was fine. Menu prices are ok. But the food just wasn't that good. read more

Came here for brunch with a friend. The food was just ok. Many of the menu items mention that they come with "mixed greens." I assumed this meant a small side salad. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and asked if they could get home fries instead of the mixed greens. The waitresses response was "Oh that's just a garnish, no one ever eats it anyways..." I would say the portion of lettuce they give you with each meal is the size of a side salad. But they don't put any sort of dressing on the greens... So its just a large pile of lettuce. GREAT PLACE! Four of us had dinner before a concert at the Landmark Theater - right across the street! We had an online reservation, and were seated immediately. Our server Matt was there right away for drink orders and had some great suggestions for appetizers. We tried their Spinach-Artichoke Dip, and it was excellent - 5-star delicious! All 4 entrees were excellent as well, though the Mahi Mahi Tacos were pretty drippy - likely from the freshly pickled cabbage slaw. Truffle Fries were delicious. My wife's Darling Burger was was perfect, and her sister's Nourishing Bowl was great as well. Ditto the NY Strip Steak her husband ordered. It was perfectly rare, just the way he wanted it (which is rare...). The only real negative is the noise level in the dining room. It's all hard surfaces - walls, floors and ceilings - so sound bounces around and makes conversation difficult to follow for us baby boomers. Will we go back? DEFINITELY!!! Was here recently with my sisters and girlfriend. I had the praline bacon pancakes. They were absolutely fantastic. they had the perfect balance of salty and sweet. My younger sister ordered the darling burger, which she said was very good. My Girlfriend and older sister split the truffled mushroom and arugula flatbread, truffle fries and a chicken Caesar salad. The salad was okay, but the flatbread was excellent. Our cocktails were all strong and tasted great. Our waiter was very kind and knowledgable about the menu. My only gripe was that I ordered the biscuits for the table, and the order only came with two biscuits. I wish he told us that it only came with two, we would have order another! also the biscuits came after our entrees even though we ordered them as a starter. You said this place is amazing but you only gave it FOUR stars?!?!? R u On DrUgZ!?!?" No. I'm not on drugz. And I think it deserves 4 stars because of the space. The building is HUGE, so it requires ALOT of decoration. Although the decoration they have is very dainty/sheik, the whole space just needs a little more. It feels very empty in some areas. The bar area is amazing they KILLED it, but the rest of the space feels VERY empty. Some walls are huge, floor to ceiling, and they are just empty. It is also very echo-ey (I am so good w grammar) so you can easily hear what everyone is saying around you. It's ALMOST there but not quite. Ok let's talk drinks/food. They killed it. Drinks are on point. They have a pretty small cocktail menu but they are all extremely fresh and unique. If you want something more custom the bartenders are awesome and can make you a drink based off of what you are feeling. Kat and Beth make AMAZING cocktails! If nothing on the menu sparks your interest definitely ask one of them to make you a drink! As far as food, I've never had a full meal but I've pretty much eaten every appetizer and they were all so good. Buffalo chicken spring rolls and the fried pickles are definitely the winners. The price point is definitely on the pricier side. Like this place is pretty expensive. But I'm a happy hour hoe and nothing is THAT expensive during happy hour. (Out door seating available) Cocktails were ok , we tried the watermelon margarita and the regular margarita which were pretty refreshing. We asked the server what was their best selling entree and she recommended the rose Mart hot honey crispy chicken. My boyfriend decided to order it as his entree with a side of pork belly for his Mac and cheese. Sadly, the pork belly got him really sick , had him throwing up all night. This review is based solely on service for drinks. We weren't seated at the bar, but at a table outside. My mom has visited this place for a drink or two and had really nice things to say. It IS a cute venu inside. Their food menu wasn't very appealing, IMO. They only have 4 or 5 beers on tap. Their cocktail menu does rotate, which is nice. My 2 girl friends and I ordered cocktails. I ordered the peach cocktail with a red wine float. They girls ordered a watermelon margarita and the lemon martini. While our order was promptly taken, we waited a solid 15 minutes. The place was pretty much empty, too. We weren't sure what was taking so long. Another server actually asked us if someone had started to take care of us. My drink wasn't bad, but it was also super weak. aside from the red wine float, it was like drinking juice. Coupled with this and dropping the ball for the first 20 minutes we were there is the reason I'm giving this place 2 stars. Came in to check the restaurant for lunch. I ordered fish tacos, but because they had some kind of a mistake in a computer my food didn't arrive for about 35 min. I was on my lunch break, so I had to ask for a to go when the tacos were finally ready. Here I attach the pic of how empty they looked. Not writing this to express my disappointment, but rather to bring the attention of a general manager to it. It's understandable that the place has opened justice recently, and issues like this may happen. And it's not even about avoiding them, it's about how they are resolved. And in this particular situation after all the time and money spent I would expect something more than what I've got. Hope management will read this and pay more attention to situations like this. I was visiting a friend in Syracuse and we decided to try this new restaurant after hearing good things! We came in with a party of 3, and was told the wait was going to be 15 min. So we headed to the bar to get a quick drink while waiting. My friend and I ordered the lavender lemon martini ($10), and my other friend ordered the clementine smash ($10 - made with whiskey). Those two drinks were definitely AMAZING. I was definitely the most surprised with my friend's whiskey drink as I usually hate all things whiskey but that drink was delish. 20 min go by, so we go back and check in with the hostess and there's still a wait. There were definitely a few tables open but it was probably a staffing issue. Another party came up to the hostess and asked how much longer as they had also been told 15 min wait and they had waited 40 min already. In total, my friends and I as a party of 3 waited 45 min. With the long wait, we'd all decided our second drink and meal already and were able to quickly order it. We all got the hot honey dipped crispy chicken ($18). It comes with a side of hone balsamic brussel sprouts and mac and cheese. I replaced the mac and cheese to try the parmesan roasted cauliflower (also attempting a meal of lower- ish carbs). The chicken was definitely incredible. It was super moist and cripsy, although I didn't really taste much rosemary but the honey on it was delicious. The sides really left me a little more disappointed. The brussel sprouts were kind of more chewy than I liked but the flavor was good. The mac and cheese wasn't anything to write home about, and the pasta tasted almost al dente at times. The cauliflower was a def disappointment as well. The parmesan didn't feel roasted onto the cauliflower and more like it was thrown on top last minute. It was pretty bland too and I hate putting salt on my food at restaurants but I needed to put it on these. Our second drinks we got: -I ordered the pineapple ginger mojito ($11) - it was good but I tasted zero pineapple and it was all ginger. And I understand having small mint leaves throughout for the aesthetic, but I ended up having to spit tiny pieces of mint out continuously. - my friend ordered the blood orange and blackberry rum punch ($11). This drink was STRONG. I couldn't drink it but to each their own. - other friend ordered a beer for ($8), most of the beers are around $8 which is hefty- ish It also took about 20 min just to get our checks back, so there is definitely some smoothing over with the staff that's needed. Oh My Darling is a brunch/lunch/bar that opened around 2 weeks ago in downtown Syracuse. They serve wine, cocktails, and fun lunch options like tacos, sandwiches, burgers, flatbreads and more. I wanted the fish tacos but they were out of it today (along with the risotto). I tried Lee Lees sandwich with a side of truffle fries. The truffle oil flavor was great and the fries were nicely seasoned. They didn't need ketchup at all. The sandwich tasted great because of the avocado and alfalfa sprouts. I have had trouble finding alfalfa sprouts in Syracuse so I was pleasantly surprised to see this sandwich feature it. The attached store (that you can access from both the street or from within the restaurant) is called Clementine. It's a to-go cafe that sells coffee, yogurt, candles, bags, cards, kombucha, tea, and salads. James, our waiter, mentioned that the owner was working on a jazz club/speakeasy in the basement under Oh My Darling. I am stoked that downtown Syracuse is growing in food/entertainment options. Syracuse definitely lacked in the brunch department so this restaurant is a major addition to the brunch scene. I love how the sister stores are named after Freddy Quinn's "Oh my darling, Clementine" song. I tried the oat milk lavender latte at Clementine's (made with Iris espresso from Brooklyn) and thought it was great. It could have used a little more lavender flavor. Syracuse is known for Orange (the men's basketball team) but may now also be known for its citrus cousin, Clementine! read more

Ordered DeeDees chicken sandwich through GrubHub. Everything tasted great until I got 2/3 the way through my sandwich and there was NO MORE CHICKEN. Normally I wouldn't be quite as pressed (even though it is quite annoying), but they charge $15!!!!!! For a CHICKEN sandwich, that had the smallest piece of chicken I've ever seen? Food was fine. Not great, but fine. Prices too high for the overly pretentious descriptions of each dish. As another reviewer said, Bloody Mary was watery. Not sure if there was even half a shot of vodka in it. Food order was wrong, and then the replacement meal was stuck at the back of the order line. We waited as at least 6 other orders came out the kitchen door. We finally just asked for it to go. No price reduction given, but hey, we got the manager's business card, because...? Every patron was wearing a mask before being seated, even though the NYS mandate had been lifted. Only half the floor staff was wearing a mask properly. The other half had either nose hanging out or had their mask under their chin. We were right next to the kitchen door, and none of the kitchen stuff even had any attempt at wearing a mask.
