    Soy milk

Unfortunately this place has suffered significantly from Shrinkflation. I haven't been here in over 5 years and was shocked to discover it was not the place I remembered Such tiny bowls of soy milk and small portions of food. Really felt I was being nickled and dimed and they were getting away with serving the very bare minimum Sadly I was extremely disappointed but I suppose this is what the economy has become I will not be back

I really enjoy their Taiwanese flavors. Decided to come here with my mom since dear child of mine met up with her friends in flushing and my mom lives close by. First time coming for dinner instead of lunch. I think they do a lot of business from lunch vs dinner but also could be because it's the day before Christmas Eve so we were the only patrons. Ordered popcorn chicken, crispy fried intestines and a tofu with string beans.

Stopped by Ryan Taiwanese Cuisine since it's close to where I work and I wanted to try some Taiwanese comfort dishes. I ordered the stinky tofu, smoked duck, fried chicken over rice, and garlic chicken over rice. The stinky tofu had a strong aroma as expected and a crispy exterior. The smoked duck had good flavor and was probably the highlight of the meal. The fried chicken and garlic chicken over rice were decent portions and filling, but nothing particularly memorable. The atmosphere inside feels a bit old and dark, which gives it a casual, no-frills vibe. Service was friendly and the staff were welcoming. Overall, the food was okay but on the pricier side for what you get. It's convenient if you're nearby and craving Taiwanese food, but it didn't really stand out compared to other spots.

This cozy no frills spot serves pretty good Taiwanese food and you'll be in and out pretty quick! I was craving Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup and was walking by here so I knew I had to try it out. I think their noodles were yummy and the broth was quite rich. I also had the popcorn chicken and oyster omelet which at the time, I had just been excited to try more Taiwanese food in the city, since there aren't that many. The gumminess of the oyster omelet did throw me off a bit as I wasn't expecting that. I had expected more of a silky texture. The popcorn chicken was great and nicely fried and seasoned. Overall, it's a solid spot and would recommend their soup!

Nice and comfortable Taiwanese restaurant in Flushing. The staff is friendly and responsive. Space is kept clean and the staff is diligent in keeping it tidy. Food is fresh and piping hot and delicious!

OK Ryan serves authentic Taiwanese fare, notably crispy stinky (emphasis on stinky) tofu. When I ordered this dish for takeout, the stench was pervasive through the bag. Despite the smell which could fill an entire elevator lobby, the taste of the tofu was not overly sour or fermented, and the sweet soy based dipping sauce balanced each bite of tofu well. The pickled cabbage on the side was a nice, crisp palate cleanser! I also got the railroad lunch with soy braised chicken. While the rice box had a lot of food inside, the chicken was unfortunately overcooked and dehydrated. It was still enjoyable to eat all together, just a bit dry. Online ordering for the restaurant is pretty streamline. They made the food in less than the advertised 30 minutes. The menu is very jam packed and a little overwhelming - but they have all you could ask for from a Taiwanese food place.

The beef chow fun noodles were somewhat dried out during transit, but was flavorful. The spare ribs were decent, somewhat small but tasty. Shanghai noodles were prepared well.

Stopped here Sunday morning to get the best Taiwanese breakfast in town. They have the best soy milk and beef pancake you can get. No frill kinda place so don't expect the best service but the delectable food will make up for it! With inflation these days, it's hard to find places that don't charge $20 for a small appetizer. There's a small parking lot so if the option is there, I would take public transportation.

OK Ryan, nestled in Flushing, is a great choice if you're craving homey and delicious Taiwanese food. Our group of five went family style, which is a must since the menu has so many tempting options. My two favorites of the meal were the fly's head (a simple yet effective mix of ground pork, black bean, budding chives, and chilies) and cabbage in XO sauce (can this be my side dish for every meal?). FYI, they're both listed as spicy but there's barely a kick. As comfort dishes go, the pork with bamboo shoot was top-notch. I also liked the beef with water spinach in BBQ sauce (love myself some sacha sauce), which was a bit wetter than I expected, but tasty nonetheless. For other classic options, you can't go wrong with the Taiwanese style stinky tofu (personally the pickled veggies have always been my favorite part), Taiwanese three cup chicken, and braised pork rice with egg (my favorite of this group). While I liked the flavors of the oyster omelette, it was a little too goopy for me and wayyy too goopy for my friends. There were barely any oysters, but that didn't surprise me. I also tried ba-wan for the first time, and it was glutinous with a tasty sauce, but I preferred the other dishes. The sesame oil pork kidney was also a little too soft for my taste, but take that with a grain of salt, as I'm usually not big on kidneys unless they're grilled and smoky. My kidney-loving friend really enjoyed it. I was also glad to snag the last grass jelly drink of the night. It was excellent and so refreshing! The wait staff was really friendly and helpful, and I really appreciated that. Flushing's always such a trek from Brooklyn, but I hope to return and try other dishes, especially from their breakfast menu.

Our group of Taiwanese friends believes this is the best and most authentic Taiwanese restaurant in New York. We come here all the time. The staff here is kind, service is timely, and it's very much a homey atmosphere. They have nearly all the staple Taiwanese dishes. My favs are: (1) Smoked duck (must try this!) (2) Oyster omelette (蚵仔煎) - I prefer this to what is served in actual Taiwan night markets (3) Peanut/rice milk (米漿) - super authentic (4) Fly's head (minced pork with chives, etc) (5) House tofu dish (6) Golden Taiwanese kimchi - so far I haven't been able to find this anywhere else Enjoy!

Pretty solid Taiwanese staples. Liked the Lou rou fan the most! Portion was pretty decent so you can share things.

We stopped here before going to a Mets game. Solid Taiwanese, a slight variation from the usual Cantonese. The waitress spoke English. Reasonably priced. A pleasant stop in an out of the way place on a housewares suppliers street. Quick efficient service. We had beef chow fun noodles with scrambled egg. It came prepared in sauce.

This made me so happy! I've been searching for the best Taiwanese food in New York, and this is the best it can get. I've heard about it from many people, but I was actually impressed and really enjoyed my meal here. My friends and I went on a freezing Wednesday evening and you gotta go family style to try everything The Fly's Head 蒼蠅頭, 3 Cup Chicken 三杯雞, and the XO Cabbage XO 炒高麗菜 (Taiwanese cabbage hits diff cause it's naturally sweeter!) were amazing! Can't go wrong with classics like their Beef Noodle Soup 紅燒牛肉麵 or Braised Pork Over Rice 滷肉飯 either! The Dong Po Rou 東坡肉 was very juicy and they even asked if we wanted the chef to cut it up or do it ourselves (fun experience to do it yourself ;)). We also got the stinky tofu and it's perfectly fried and delicious, though I do wish it was stinkier The servers were super nice and gave great recommendations too! Heard they have traditional Taiwanese breakfast on the weekends. Can't wait to go back!

When you get lucky, Legend Chicken is the best fried chicken in New York City and the closest thing to actual Taiwan you'll find here ...the cutlet, the popcorn chicken, real night-market flavor, an easy 7/10. But it's a gamble. Run into the rude staff and it falls apart: they won't even acknowledge you, they look miserable, and the chicken comes out overcooked and dry. It sometimes it feels like one of those gimmick restaurants where they're rude on purpose, except it's not a joke. In Taiwan the people behind these counters are genuinely warm, and tipping isn't even a thing. Luckily, there was only a short wait for our party of two at around 12pm...but I suspect the wait can be much longer later in the afternoon or during peak dinner times. Once your number is called, you go up some stairs to the eating/tabled area. There are tables and chairs for 2, 4 and more guests throughout the large space. The pace of the restaurant is very fast...as soon as you are seated, you are given tea and your waiter comes over right away to take any order you are ready to give. Its helpful to ask for a menu while you are waiting for a table so you know what to order when asked. We had some soup dumplings as well as a (large) soup. Everything was very good and out in about 15 minutes...very fast. The soup dumplings were great...but as expected are filled with piping hot broth so be careful when eating. They have some other appetizers and dishes available. There are also some drink options including cold teas, soft drinks and beer. Overall a great experience...despite visiting on a busy Saturday, we were in and out in about 40-45 minutes. Street parking can be tough in the area but there are a few garages around...one of the more reasonable options is the garage at the Skyview shops which currently charge about $6 for up to three (3) hours and is a short 5 minute walk away.

The black pepper beef rice roll already comes with black pepper sauce, however we added mayo to the eel rice roll (delicious, a must get). We walked into a compact, no frills space with a casual grab and go feel that fits the type of food being served. The shop keeps things simple, but the concept works well for a quick and filling meal, especially when you want something affordable that still has plenty of flavor packed into a portable format. The rice rolls are the main reason to come here. The purple sticky rice gives each roll a slightly chewy texture and makes it feel more substantial than a typical grab and go snack. Inside, the fillings create a good mix of textures with savory ingredients, vegetables, and sauces packed into each bite. We tried the eel rice roll, which stood out as one of the stronger options. The eel added a richer flavor that paired well with the rice and seaweed, and adding spicy mayo gave it an extra layer of flavor without overpowering the rest of the roll. The combination of the soft, chewy rice and the variety of fillings made each bite feel balanced and satisfying. What makes fan tuan enjoyable is how balanced it feels as a meal. It is compact, easy to eat, and surprisingly filling for the size. There are plenty of filling combinations to choose from, including meat, seafood, and more traditional options, so it is easy to find something depending on what you are craving. The portions are generous enough that a single roll can serve as a full meal, and the pricing makes it an easy choice for a quick lunch or dinner. Service is straightforward and the focus is really on getting the rice rolls prepared quickly. The staff moves efficiently, and the order turnaround is fast, which fits the grab and go format well. There is limited seating, so the experience is best suited for takeout or a quick stop rather than a long sit down meal. Nuan Xin Rice Roll is a great option for a simple but satisfying meal. The purple rice, generous fillings, and variety of combinations make it stand out from typical quick bites, and it is worth checking out if you enjoy onigiri, kimbap, or Taiwanese street food. It delivers exactly what the format promises: a compact, flavorful, and filling meal that feels more thoughtful than your average grab and go option.

My eyes lit up when I saw the menu. The owners are from Tainan, Taiwan which is often consider the culinary capital of Taiwan with many iconic traditional dishes and flavors. The restaurant is spacious but it does not have many table seatings (3-5 tables?). When we came it wasn't busy so we got a spot but we did see many people coming in for their takeout orders. The oldies they play at the restaurant take me back to my childhood. The place is structured very interestingly where it's an open kitchen so you can actually easily see how they prep the food in the back. We ordered: - oyster omelette pancake - mung wort kueh (4 pieces) - danzai noodle - mixed spice platter The oyster omelette was the highlight! The bottom is crispy and they use a generous amount of oysters. It's the most authentic oyster pancake I've had in the east coast. Alot of other "Taiwanese spots" don't make it correctly. I also love the mung wort kueh (hard to find places that sell this) - it's a fun snack to take to go. It's a savory mochi bun with shredded radish as the main ingredient. The danzai noodle is an iconic dish from Tainan. Its main star consists of the one shrimp and the marinated ground braised pork. Although I would prefer the dry version but they serve the soup version here. The broth tastes very clear and clean, doesn't feel like it's dosed with salt and MSG. We got the mixed platter - an iconic street food in Tainan is 滷味 (Lou Wei) which is consist of different ingredients tossed and braised in a soy-based spice sauce. They have a nice selection of Lou Wei options and the platter we got had pork belly, duck neck, tofu skin, and lotus roots. The spicy duck neck can be intimidating for those that have never had it but it is fun to eat. There are so many items on there that I can't wait to try. For first timer, definitely get the oyster pancake and Luroufan! I can't wait to come back and try more of the traditional Taiwanese dishes. They also have frozen dumplings that you can buy to go. 50 pieces for $28-$30 is a pretty good price!
