Hmm was sure I reviewed this stellar place before but here's another one. Bought sandwiches for an upcoming flight. Def wish I had eaten the whole spicy chicken and pickled chicken one while they were piping hot because they taste best that way. Both were really delicious when I took a bite of each. BLT and the egg salad are favorites and the milk bread is so good. Love the variety of Korean chips and snacks. They make it to order so it's not fast food but it didn't take that long to get 4 sandwiches. Really delicious and nice spot for sandwiches!
Call me crazy, but I was on BART watching IG reels to kill time and this place pops up on my feed showcasing the Sisig Sandwich. I looked at the location and it's a block away from MacArthur BART station. I glanced at my watch and the place was still open and I immediately get off the station (since it was my day off, which is on a Monday) and walked briskly to this joint. They are still very busy with several people in front of me. I get to the front of the line and ordered the Sisig Sandwich. The lady at the counter pauses, and said: "Hold on, let me see if we still have any." I held my breath and finally had a sigh of relief when she mentioned that I was ordering the last Sisig Sandwich of the day. She was also very pleasant and we had a nice conversation about said Sisig. It's legit because they make all the ingredients straight from the head of the pig, which is the original Sisig invented in the Philippines. I guess it was meant to be. While waiting, I noticed they also served chips, particularly Asian chips that I haven't seen before. The place is bustling with people coming and going, while some are eating their sammiches outside. When I received my order, I couldn't wait to bite into, but first I had to admire it when I finally unwrapped her. It was just as advertised and you can see the cartilage on the pig ears chopped and minced to bite sized pieces. One bite and confirmed it's the real deal. The essence and components of a real Sisig are all present. This isn't an Americanized or tamed version to mask what is often considered as "nasty" parts by the Western world. To the rest of world that eats the "nasty" parts of an animal, this is normal. It's in its raw, natural form served proudly; packed full of flavors and textures. A delicious and delightful combination of meat, fat, collagen, cartilage and seasoning. Also the best part of the pig's head is the cheek meat. Nothing is hidden, substituted or compromised. Definitely got my head and shoulders stamp of approval.
Came here for a quick to-go lunch after walking around the Oakland White Elephant sale a few miles away. Was told having one of these sandwiches (esp. the sisig bolilo) is life-changing. Too bad OK's Deli was out by the time we got it, so my life was not changed lol [[HIGHLIGHT]]OK's Deli is a small shop with no indoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do offer online ordering, something we probably should have done to lock down the sisig bolilo sandwich! We ended up ordering: House banh mi - meaty with lots of pate. The bread was a little too rustic for me and wished it was softer. Sichuan hot chicken - I loved the sesame bun and all the flavors of the chicken (juicy, perfectly spicy), slaw (tangy) combined. Price is a bit steep but everything is stated to be local and/or made in-house. Will need to return and experience this sisig sandwich, mang!!
The sisig bolillo, though closer to a sourdough with the way the crust goes, is a decadent pile of bits of fatty, dripping pork and mayonnaise. There is onion to supplement, beautifully soft but uncaramelized, and a quarter-lime on the side to help cut the fat. The singular egg in the middle is a nice touch and I wish for more sweetness. However, the meat (oil) and mayo (oil) get a little too much. The lime and nominal thai chili are woefully insufficient to balance; I get meat, meat, more meat. This is fine if you're a meat lover, but I'd like some more balance myself.
Stopped by on a weekend post hike for sandwiches. There isn't a lot of parking, but we were lucky and got parking a few blocks away. The line to order went by pretty fast, and it took around 15 minutes for our sandwiches. They're not bad at all! I would come back and try other sandwiches as well. We ended up taking it a brewery nearby to enjoy.
First time here I ordered on line and that process is super easy. I definitely recommend ordering on line as I was notified my order would be ready in 35 minutes. Parking is kinda hard to come by, no private paring lot, street parking only. I ordered two sandwiches, the House Turkey Breast & Salami $18 and the Konbini Egg Salad $14, friend and I shared the sandwiches Sandwiches are HUGE (so glad I shared) The focaccia bread on the turkey/salami sandwich is sooo very good!! All ingredients are fresh, Sandwiches are very tasty Glad I stopped by here!!
They're not skimping on protein at all! Huge portions and love the variety of Asian sandwiches they have. Got them delivered via DoorDash and the sisig sandwich was still warm. Definitely would order from them again! Only disappointing thing was the banh mi didn't automatically come with pate traditionally but you can add it for $2.
I was so excited to try this spot after some coworkers told me about their delicious sandwiches. Italian sandwiches are my favorite so I was excited when I saw a few options on the menu that really called to me. Their menu really does cater to a lot of tastes with sandwiches like hot chicken, banh mi, Katsu, falafel, and Italian and deli options. You'll want to check the menu the day of as it seems the menu does change and some items can sell out. I ended up trying the hot coppa & fresh mozzarella sandwich ($20) that had hot coppa, fresh mozzarella, arugula, shaved red onions, pepperoncini, house red pesto, and house vin on a rustic hoagie. This sandwich was beautiful and the flavor was just what I wanted it to be- a great mix of fatty, spicy, fresh and tangy. The house red pesto was a great touch. I will say this sandwich is best enjoyed fresh- I ate half the day I got it and half the next day and the lettuce was less fluffy the next day which changed the texture. This didn't detract from my experience- it just means If encourage you to indulge and enjoy it right away or share with a friend to enjoy it at peak flavor. Parking was a little rough- it's street parking in the area and the street it's on can be pretty busy. Also, I'd encourage you to stop by early in the day so you have the most options available.
Came by to pick up some lunch. Sandwiches were ordered ahead of time and were ready about 7 min after arriving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really clean and organized space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - ebi katsu ($19) - described as creamy white shrimp patty, thinly shaved cabbage, house tartar sauce, sesame seed brioche bun. I was really impressed by the shrimp patty. It was dense and thick with different textures of shrimp inside, both minced and chunks. - chicken caesar wrap ($17) - described as house roasted whole chicken, house caesar dressing, romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, tomato, house croutons, grana padano, lavash. I'm not understanding the chicken caesar wrap craze I've ben seeing online. This wrap was tasty but I did think the choice of lavash made it a bit dryer than my personal preference. Really great sandwiches. Would get the ebi again but might pass on the chicken caesar. Next on my list is the sichuan hot chicken.
Ok's Deli has been on my "to try " list for awhile, and I finally got around to checking them out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon entry, you'll see that the space is a relatively simple operation with the kitchen in plain view and a small waiting/dining area in the front[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is definitely a place where you grab a sandwich to go rather than sitting down.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ended up going with the Sichuan Hot Chicken sandwich which came with an ample amount of tasty fried chicken. While I initially asked for the hot, the cashier said it was closer to an 8/10 spice level so I decided to be cautious and go with their mild (4/10 spice). In terms of spice level, I wish there was something in the middle. Still, the sandwich was well seasoned and very flavorful. I also LOVED the sesame bun which was a unique touch for an otherwise very good sandwich. I hope to return some day and try a few more of Ok's sandwich offerings. Give this spot a try if you're looking for a great sandwich on the go.
I'm so confused. Why do they call it OK? It's f'ing fabulous! (They say Ok's is pronounced Oak's, but it makes you wonder if there's some kind of weird copyright issue to spelling it the way you pronounce it.) I had an amazing Shichuan Hot Chicken sandwich. I requested medium heat. The cashier accurately described it as 4 on a 10-point heat scale. It's not just spicy hot, but also spicy in terms of a lip smackingly good mix of spices that bring that bring a symphony of heat. It's like they went to the Oaktown Spice Shop and got the perfect one dozen spices for a harmonious blend. I also got the House Ramen Spiced French Fries which were excellent. Again, a very harmonious mix of spices coating, perfectly prepared fries, Absolutely amazing. I got a Mexican Coke, which went with the sandwich and fries perfectly, sweet acid breaking down the heat. There were about three people ahead of me in line. After I ordered it was pretty much exactly 15 minutes until my food was ready. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are a few chairs spread outside and I think one table inside and one table out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think Ok's is a good value. They don't cheat you on the portion in the name of gourmet ingredients. Everything is well prepared and amazing. I can't get over it. Where have I been? I think I was deterred by the long lines when this place first opened. Now I need to figure out how to be a regular. Ok's has got a self esteem issue. It's definitely better than OK. And if it wants to be Oak's, it should be Oak's. If there's another Oak's deli somewhere, this one is better. Heck, if they're 100 Oak's delis, I'm pretty sure this one is number one.
We tried the sichuan hot chicken sandwich and it was good but not the best. The flavor was good, has a good kick to it. The sesame bun was okay. Didn't add much and wasn't outstanding. The lettuce also was just filler, something that's pickled would have been amazing and would cut through the spice better. For what it is it's a bit steep in terms of the price. But still a good sandwich, but won't come often because it's not that cheap. The nori fries was a pass for it. No seaweed flavor at all. But it was nice and crispy, it's tasted like it was double fried if you like that. Parking could be hard, only street parking and there's not a lot of street parking. We just got lucky and there was an empty spot right when we go there on a Sunday lunch time.

Had to check out this sandwich shop after hearing about it from a friend and how good it was. I ordered the sichuan hot chicken sandwich mild spicy and it's one of the best hot chicken sandwiches I've ever had! The spice actually wasn't that bad so next time I think I will get the spicier level instead. The chicken was super tender and juicy and the bun was amazing as well. It didn't feel too heavy either so it was a really satisfying meal. I had a bite of my friend's ebi katsu sandwich which also tasted great, very light too! Only thing is that we went at 2 which was near closing so they did sell out of some of their specialty sandwiches by then. I'd recommend going earlier if you want their full selection. read more
Placed a pre-order for pickup on Saturday around 1:15pm. Order was ready for pickup by 1:30pm. We arrived around 1:40 grabbed our bag and headed to Temecula Brewery to eat. Food: Sichuan Hot Chicken Sandwich - pretty good, the house made sesame bread was fluffy and well toasted, chicken thigh was nicely breaded and fried with a slightly spicy kick, cucumber and lettuce added freshness, wish this were slightly spicier and a little saucier, personally prefered this one Konbini Egg Salad Sandwich - thick fluffy milk bread slices sandwiching a creamy egg salad, this was good but wish there was a bit more seasoning, acidity and a little greenery to add texture Service super easy pre-order and pick up, highly recommend going this route to save time. Overall sandwiches were good, made with high quality ingredients and well prepared. Given the hype I was slightly underwhelmed but still worth a try. read more
These guys are great, and now with online ordering it's even easier to pick up their delicious sandwiches. Their Hot Sichuan Chicken sandwich has a nice hum of spice, but I would say make it spicy if you're looking for heat. We also tried the Spam Mi and Ebi Katsu. Both were good, with the Ebi Katsu being the favorite with it's balanced flavors of shrimp and mayo that isn't too heavy. I always enjoy eating a good sandwich, and Oks doesn't disappoint. Don't sleep on the potato salad though, which had the perfect balance of creamy and crunchy that definitely takes me back to the Japanese mart in Tokyo. read more
The staff is definitely friendly! The line is definitely long. The sandwich's are definitely huge and flavorful. As a matter of fact, I got two not pictured is the turkey sandwich which Bae ate over 3-meals. So the price is ok considering the abundance of a Sami you get. The bread is great, but all those ingredients packed in between, slosh and slide with each bite. Making it a double napkin affair. It's a destination worth pursuing at least once. read more
This place is my favorite deli. I've worked at one for 7 years before and this one is fantastic. Specialty items and regular sandos. I drive from Sonoma county to eat here. I've everything from the egg salad to the chicken sando, others...see pics. All I can say is you have to try it. So much flavor with everything. You can't just go once and try one thing. There's just too many great options to not come back again! The service is nice and quick! Parking kinda sucks but that's about all the bad I'd have to say about it. read more
OK's has quickly become one of my favorite delis in the East Bay. They are super chef driven, bake all their own bread, make great deli sandos, asian inspired flavors, and a killer fried chicken sandwich. Great assortment of Asian chips too. Very little room to dine, so takeout and ordering ahead are recommended. read more

Long overdue review: been to Ok's Deli a few times now on my lunch breaks, and wowza do they deliver everytime!! Today I ordered their Sisig Bulillo and their Popcorn Chicken (not pictured), both were absolutely amazing! Sisig Bulillo: The sisig was so flavorful and tender, it had a fried egg on the inside layer and a bit of mayo that made for one of the best things I've eatin so far this year!!! The bread, my goodness, the bread they make in house for their dishes always and I mean always tastes so fresh and delicious, feeling like the perfect holster for these ingredients! Popcorn Chicken: think of your typical popcorn chicken from a boba spot, but done so much better! The chicken was so juicy and flavorful, the breading and seasoning made each bite better than the last. With a bit of honey mustard for dipping sauce *chefs mf kiss*. They have a rotating menu of freshly made food on a weekly basis that crosses many cultures. I check their instagram weekly to see what they're up to next cause every time I've gotten nothing but a GREAT experience. Friendly people, a new take on your traditional deli, and another reason why I still love my hometown city that is Oakland. A must try! read more

I love this place emphatically! It's everything Bay Area cuisine is about, fusion, freshness, flavor and originality! With sandwich selections that are heavily influenced by Asian flavors. A lot of their ingredients are made in house, including the turkey breast, which I personally love, and their bread. The marinated beets in the veggie sandwich are next level delicious! I think one thing that stands out for me with the sandwiches they offer is texture, all the sandwiches are made to maximize the light crunchy texture you want from a good sandwich. The seaseme chocolate chip cookies are also hella good. They have a great selection of chips, the Japanese and Asian flavored one's that are super fun to try. The staff is an eclectic group of very friendly people, definitely the kind of Bay Area community establishment you go to see friendly faces and get delicious food. The owner is born and raised in the Bay and cares about maintaining Oakland community, in the face of gentrification it's important to support businesses from people who are from here and hold the values of the Bay Area and Oakland specifically. My complaints include: I hate when they're closed. I never have the opportunity to try the Szechuan chicken, that's their specialty, because I'm so hung-up on the turkey and veggie sandwichs. read more
Summary: Excellent bread, while fillings are a bit hit or miss Details: * All their breads are pretty fantastic, with good chew and texture * Sichuan chicken sandwich was the only standout * Okonomi-pan is pretty true to form and good for those who enjoy traditional okonomiyaki flavors, but we found it a bit too sweet and heavy * Konbini egg salad's milk bread was great, but the salad itself was lackluster * Lines and waits seem to be luck of the draw, as we went on a Saturday around 1pm and only had two people in front of us when we arrived * Will have to try their more traditional/classic sandwiches next time, but we suspect the sandwiches with stronger savory flavors probably fare better Accessibility: Lines are outside on the sidewalk, and the inside of the deli is large enough to maneuver around as long as not too many people crowd inside. Fair warning, don't wear something nice, cause these sandwiches are going to get messy but in the best way. Went to the grand opening on 9/1, and arrived 5 mins before it opened (and there was already a line). Please note that it is like a NY deli where you grab everything and order then wait outside since it is a small location. Sichuan Hot Chicken ($16) + Hot Sauce ($6): 5/5 OMG just the right seasoning and light heat. Could be spicer which is why I got the house hot sauce on top of it. (This gets messy, so please have extra napkins) Spam Mi ($14): 4/5 Reminds me of a pork cake banh mi and refreshing on a hot day. Wish there was a little pate on it, but the house-made spam was good (not too salty). Sesame Kinako Cookie ($6): Kinako is a roasted bean flour that rice cakes are rolled in, and it baked in a chocolate chip cookie is decadent. (Side note, it is the size of a baby's face, so...good luck) Turtle Seaweed Chip & Turtle Corn Chips ($7 each): Yahhhhh, could not resist, heard about these being the new snack in Korea. All flavors have some corn in them, but the corn flavor is extra "corny". Think Korean corn ice cream, but in a stackable chip form. There were also potato salad sides and a black sesame cheesecake, but after all the food I had, all I had energy for was a nap. This is not your cheap $5 deli sandwich, but so amazing. One of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had!! This spot has been on my list for a while and I am definitely coming back. The sichuan hot chicken sandwich is huge and the chicken is so crispy and juicy. It can get messy but the sandwich is totally worth it. I had been dying to try this place and on a Saturday where I had no plans, I happened to be in the neighborhood. So I parked down the street and got in line right around 11am. 30 minutes later, I was the 20th person to order, and another 10-12 minutes later, I had my sandwiches. Sadly, they didn't have the spam-mi on the menu, which I've been drooling over since I saw pictures of it, but I opted to try: - Sichuan hot chicken (4/5) - this was definitely good, and I love the bun, and the chicken was juicy; but it wasn't particularly spicy. - Okonomi-pan (2.5/5) - When I opened the box, it definitely wasn't what I was expecting. The omelet type egg on top was unique, and the pork belly was good, but everything all together was simply overwhelming and the bun was largely soggy from all the things. Would I go back and indulge in the Sichuan hot chicken or try the spam mi? Sure. But, I will say that given the really high expectations, I was mostly underwhelmed and as someone who absolutely detests lines, it will definitely be a while before I brave the experience. I really wanted to love this place and the service was lovely, but I think the expectations were just far too overhyped. read more
Best sandwich award hands down goes to OK's. I decided to give Ubereats delivery a try with these sandwiches. Key highlights: - Nicely packaged - Quality held up and A++ I ordered: - Sichuan hot chicken - Kombini tonkatsu Sichuan hot chicken was my first love ever since the first time I was here. Chicken was tender/juicy with a perfect amount of crunch and savory/spicy kick. Kombini tonkatsu. Wow wow wow, blown away!!! The pork loin cutlet was very moist/tender and the katsu sauce had the perfect amount of tang/sweetness (you can definitely tell it is not the stuff in the bottle). The shokupan...oh man...deserves an award all on its own. It is soft and pillowy and just so wonderful. It is literally what bread dreams are made of. I really appreciate these crafted sandwiches that OK's makes (not to mention - all breads are made in-house). You can tell the team puts their heart into making them and I sure do enjoy eating them! read more

My wife and I stopped by on a Friday afternoon at 11:30 a.m. and there was no line to order. We got a Sichuan Hot Chicken and a House Corned Beef Brisket sandwich. $39.69 total excluding tip. The hot chicken was definitely the superior sandwich. The soft sesame bun is a great choice for bread. The chicken is unbelievably juicy and *parts* of the chicken were really crispy. Unfortunately, the fried chicken does not hold up whatsoever between the lettuce and mayo though. I'd recommend immediately eating this sandwich at the store because a short ten minute drive will result in the chicken cutlet becoming very soggy. I wish the chicken was just a tad spicier as well. Although I'm comparing apples and oranges, World Famous Hot Boys still remains my favorite place to go for a fried chicken sandwich in Oakland. The house corned beef brisket sandwich is impressive to look at, but the meat itself is a bit lacking in flavor. The ratio of meat to bread is also off: there's way too much bread in each bite. This sandwich was fine, but not anything noteworthy. At the ~$20 a sandwich price point, Deli Board in San Francisco will likely remain my go-to. read more
After a friend told me about Ok's Deli, I finally made the time to try it. I was ready to ask them to remove the mortadella on the Italian because I'm allergic to nuts. Lo and behold, the person at the counter reassured me that their mortadella doesn't have nuts (he also has an allergy). It was so nice to know that I didn't have to worry. The sandwich was delicious, lots of veggies with the meat, and lots of flavor. So good! read more

Food 4/5 Got the Sichuan Chicken Sandwich. It was juicy, seasoned well, and crispy, but not spicy. While I didn't order hot (ordered medium) I was surprised how unspicy it was. The sandwich has fresh lettuce which gives it a great crunch as well. There was what seemed like a mustard-sweet sauce. I think the sauce was a bit too much. It was a little messy to eat but worth it. Service (3/5) The service wasn't bad and wasn't amazing. Given it's a sandwich shop there is not any inside seating. Few chairs and tables outside. They have chips and other merchandise for sale inside as well. Ambiance 3/5 Not really any ambiance given we took the food to go. But inside was clean and everything seemed. The decor was minimal and new. read more

Their Szechuan fried chicken sandwich is honestly one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I have ever had. The chicken is fried perfectly and the Szechuan dry rub is perfectly seasoned. The sesame seed bun is also toasted which makes the whole sandwich have a satisfying crunch. You can control the spice level, but I would say medium is pretty hot already. Be prepared to spend around $20 total for a sandwich but I would say it is worth to experience the taste of this unique sandwich at least once because you can't get this flavor profile anywhere else. I also tried the Ebi sandwich (shrimp), which had such an interesting flavor! Nothing I've tasted before; a very good seafood aftertaste with a lot of umami. I would recommend trying it out as well. There's only a few tables outside for outdoor seating, but I've always managed to snag a table. Definitely and upscaled sandwich spot! Would recommend checking it out if you're in the area. read more
OK's Deli has my favorite fried chicken sandwich in all of the Bay Area. I'm not even going to add a "perhaps" in there because it would quash how definitive I need to be when I make that statement. I rarely give unsolicited food recommendations to strangers, but after I had this sandwich, I was pinging channels at work to tell them to come here because the sandwich is so good. I think it could be very easy to think of a Sichuan Hot Chicken Sandwich as gimmicky and camp, but it's well-realized and sticks to its concept. The chicken is spicy and numbing and beautifully fried without being oily or dry. It's succulent and you know it's going to be good when it overtakes the whole bun. In the fact, I'm not even sure what the bun is, just that's it's pillowy and chewy and has sesame seeds on the both sides- a perfect contrast to the crunch of both the chicken and the iceberg lettuce. Normally I'd also dread eating iceberg lettuce, but it provides reprieve from the heaviness of the fried chicken. It's all perfect, and you better eat it outside to avoid it getting soggy. OK's also gave us a Potato Salad on the house, and it was herbaceous and punchy and also amazing. It was a perfect side to the heaviness of the sandwiches. Now, while I do think the Sichuan Hot Chicken Sandwich is everything you could ever want in life, I also think that because it's such a star, it makes everything else on the menu fall short. We also had the Spam Mi, and while tasty it didn't blow my mind in the same way. You very much get what it says it is, but nothing outrageously special is done to the concept that makes you think: "This is only possible because spam is in this sandwich." We'll come back again, of course, but I hope another sandwich is able to hold a candle to the Sichuan Hot Chicken. read more

I stopped by around noon and was surprised to see that there was nobody in line. It was a hot day so maybe people just didn't want to go out. The cashier was really nice and helpful. I was glad he was able to inform me of the difference between mild or spicy for the sichuan hot chicken sandwich. At this place, mild could be spicy for most people and spicy could be really spicy. Since it was my first time here, I went with the cashier recommendation and got the sichuan hot chicken sandwich. I picked mild for spiciness and it was the right amount of spice for me. The chicken was well cooked and tender. I liked that the lettuce was actually crispy and provided a crunch with every bite. I could taste the sweetness of the honey mustard and if they could have added a little bit more in my sandwich, it would have been perfect. Even though it looked like a simple sandwich, the flavors worked really well together and it was delicious. The location was really small and didn't look like much when I walked in. I was surprised to see the selection of Asian snacks and drinks they sell. No space for seating inside but there were a few tables and chairs outside. Make sure you give yourself enough time to get here as they are only open Thurs - Mon from 11am - 3pm. Parking can be a real challenge. Thankfully I was able to find free street parking around the corner in a residential area. read more
Sichuan Hot Chicken Sandwich? Sign me up! I first heard of OK's Deli on Tiktok and I knew I had to come try out their Asian sandwiches. A little spot in Oakland, you order at the front and either take your sandwich to go or scarf it down on one of the few chairs outside of the shop - I opted for the latter. Sichuan Hot Chicken Sandwich (5/5): This is where it's at! Super juicy and tender chicken, fried to a nice crisp with a great savor i was from the seasoning. There's a light heat but nothing that would overpower entire flavor of the sandwich. The bun is pillowy soft and was actually one of my favorite parts about this sandwich! Spam Mi (4/5): A banh mi with spam - this one was good but nothing to write home about. I do like that the sandwich was well balanced - spam can get pretty salty but I thought the fresh and pickled veg along with the sauciness really helped cut the sodium. The mayo sauce was a tad too sweet for me but otherwise a solid option if you want something a tiny bit lighter tasting than the chicken sandwich. The shop is really cute and there are plenty of drink and chip options to complete your meal. Service is friendly and quick. There was a small crowd outside when we came on a Sunday afternoon but orders came out quick! read more

Quick overview: Must-try their sandwiches here, especially their Sichuan Hot Chicken sandwich! They were not busy on a Sunday afternoon and were pretty quick with making our order. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More detailed review: 8/10 for Environment: Cute little Asian deli shop! I love how when you step in, you can see all the Asian snacks and drinks on a shelf. It is small in there, but they fit a few chairs inside for people to sit and wait for their orders. It also looks like they have heat lamps for people waiting outside. 8/10 for Customer service: Cashier greeted us and let us know what items were still available. Super patient with us when we were deciding what to order. 9/10 for Food: We got 2 sandwiches, and we love them both! They switch up their items occasionally, so I'll come back to try new things. I also wanted to try their Asian Potato Salad and Sesame Kinako Cookie, so I'll return to try those too. What we ordered: *Sichuan Hot Chicken Sandwich: This was my favorite of the two sandwiches we got. My tolerance for spice is low, so I was worried if it would be too spicy for me, but there's barely a kick to it. I love the toasted sesame buns, and they went so well with the chicken. *Konbini Egg Salad Sandwich: I'm not a huge fan of thick bread, but this milk bread is pretty good with the egg salad. I can't tell if the sandwiches are gourmet OR if this place just doesn't fuck around. Staff dress in aprons and function as professional kitchen. (Imagine The Bear but with Asian fusion sandwiches and no problematic uncles). Take out options only with very limited seating outside. I've ordered through their online portal and it been ready and fresh as I arrive. For $12 the Spam Mi is a deal. Saltiness of the spam complements the lightness of the cucumbers and daikon. I've gotten the roast Turkey as well but it doesn't slap the same way. I'll be coming here at least monthly to try their offerings. read more

4.5 stars but rounding up for delicious sandwiches with homemade everything!! OK's Deli started out as a take out window, and congrats to them for opening a brick and mortar in Oakland. They were BUSY at 12:15pm on a Friday, and it was a 30 minute wait for an online order; however, I'd highly recommend ordering ahead online since you can skip the line at go to the front to pick up your order. There was a short line when I arrived at 12:45pm, and a small cluster of customer waiting for their orders outside. Sadly for me, they were already out of the Asian potato salad that day. I tried: -Sichuan Hot Chicken Sandwich (House Sichuan Spiced Taiwanese Style Fried Chicken, Iceberg Lettuce, Crushed Cucumber, Cilantro, Sesame Ginger Vinaigrette, Scallion, House Honey Mustard, House Sesame Bun, $16, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=4VQipHZOEOcvbLxEQvMyPA&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Yum- so good! The sichuan fried chicken patty was delicious, and had a crispy exterior but was still moist/juicy inside. I only wish their chicken was spicier (I love spicy food and this one didn't have as much spice I would've liked), and there was more sauce on the sandwich. The house milk bread was soft and fluffy but held up well to the rest of the ingredients, and I liked the subtle spice of the crema; however, this sandwich could've used more sauce (crema + BBQ sauce). Still delicious, and highly recommended (if they bring it back)! Overall, this was an awesome first experience at OK's Deli, and I'll have to come back to try their other sandwiches! No indoor or outdoor dining was available, but they did have some chairs set up outside for customers to wait for their orders. I remember when OK's Deli opened up in 2022 and was the hottest spot in Oakland. Pictures of lines wrapped around the block before they opened; posts about them completely sold out; a constantly changing menu. I knew I had to try it, but would wait until things cooled off. Things have cooled off, or at least they did on a rainy Saturday morning. I arrived 10 minutes before 11 am and was the first in line. What's fascinating about this place is the constantly evolving menu. At one brief time they had breakfast - not anymore. The Bulgogi cheese steak, a customer favorite, is only on the menu during special occasions. Likewise, I was told the Ebi Katsu sandwich would be phased off the menu by the end of January. Look, everyone is in a weird situation when it comes to food supplies right now, so I get that prices for even restaurants can make things unsustainable. That said, even with a more limited menu, the choice is TOUGH. I absolute want to try the housemade Spam Mi and the Italian Combo. But while waiting in line I got to talk to one of the great staff members who told me about the soon to be phased Ebi Katsu, so I feel I had to get that. Fortunately the doors opened, the cashier warmly greeted everyone, and then comes the second difficult thing: what chips and/or soda you want. They have a variety of hard to find Asian snacks - corn snacks, seaweed, and chips. I ended up getting the Ebi Katsu, a bag of Thai Lays Hot Chili Squid chips, and the sesame kinako chocolate chip cookie. The Ebi Katsu was very tasty but VERY different from the one That Smax makes. The one from That Smax is heavy on the sweet side as it is honey walnut shrimp katsu. The OK's Deli is more savory, and didn't feel the house tartar sauce stood out. But it was still a tasty sandwich I inhaled. The sesame kinako chocolate chip cookie is a THICCC cookie, like a more mellow peanut butter chocolate chip cookie given the similar taste of sesame. It is big and I did split this over two nights. All in all, I enjoyed my experience and will have to come back for the Spam Mi, but also any potential seasonal specials. Works out they are close to McArthur Bart, and a short walk to the heart of Temescal. Also if looking for a casual date idea on a dry weekend, hitting them up and then grabbing drinks at Temescal Brewing. read more
Just absolutely delicious. My fiancé ordered the E.C.C. (El Cubano Coreano) and I got the Konbini Egg Salad. Unfortunately, because you have to order on a Monday for a weekend pickup, we totally forgot about our order until my fiancé got a courtesy text from Ok's that our food was ready for pickup. That was really cool of them because, frankly, they didn't have to do that and if it turned out that we simply missed our order and lost out on our food, it would've been on us. So major props to them for that. When my fiancé got to the restaurant for pickup, he mentioned that it was a good thing we didn't order the fried chicken sandwich (meaning it may not have held up well to a late pickup). The guy he was speaking with mentioned that someone who ordered a fried chicken sandwich actually couldn't pick up his food that day, and then asked my fiancé if he wanted to take it. So he came home with three sandwiches instead of two. Again, majorly cool of Ok's and I really appreciate the effort to not waste food. I didn't try the E.C.C. but my fiancé really enjoyed it. He said it was a really flavorful sandwich but not overwhelming, generous in size, and had him full by the end. He liked the mix of Korean and Cuban flavors and ingredients. The Konbini Egg Salad was on super fluffy, crustless, white sandwich bread that was still dense enough to hold up to the egg salad (of which there was a lot stuffed into this sandwich). There was nothing different about the egg salad -- which isn't a negative, and tasted just like how my parents made it growing up -- so this was a good, straightforward sandwich that satisfied. The fried chicken sandwich was on another level, though. A really generously sized piece of Taiwanese-style fried chicken coated in Sichuan seasoning and sandwiched between a sesame bun, with honey mustard, lettuce, cucumber, and cilantro. It's definitely fiery, which I loved, and just freaking delicious. It also held up really well and wasn't at all soggy despite sitting in its container for a while. It's been a couple weeks since I ate it and I keep thinking about periodically -- that's how I know something was on another level. Ok's Deli makes a mean sandwich and I'm looking forward to another fried chicken and egg salad. My only complaint is that these guys sell out so fast when they open up pre-orders on Mondays, which makes me really sad because it makes it harder to get their food. Hoping they'll be able to expand operations soon to move beyond a limited number of weekly pre-orders. Can't wait for another sandwich. read more

Taiwanese and fried chicken?? Definitely a must-try! OK's Deli is a relatively small but mighty deli, with shelves of popular Asian snacks and a counter for ordering. My bf and I each ordered one Sichuan Chicken Sandwich ($17.64 each) and waited outside on the folding chairs. We probably didn't wait more than 10 minutes before the staff called our name and brought our sandwiches out to us! Quick service and so nice! We brought our sandwiches to the car to eat. Since my spice tolerance is embarrassingly low, I was really worried the Sichuan chicken would be too spicy for me. But I had nothing to worry about! The spice was just enough to give the chicken a nice OOMPH, and the sesame bun went very well with the juicy, greasy, tender chicken. I looked forward to every bite of chicken and bun paired w lettuce, cilantro, and cucumber slices that tasted almost deliciously pickled. Every day since then has been torture not having this to eat :( Not much more to say other than definitely go check this place out because although a little pricey, it's worth trying at least once. Also, parking was p bad because we could not find any available street parking spots, so we had to opt for a nearby parking garage. read more
Wow. Ok's Deli Sandwiches are amazing! I read a review about them on The Infatuation and had to try! Plan ahead and you can order starting on Monday at noon until they sell out of their orders for a weekend pickup. I arrived before 11 for my order. There was a short line outside the location for the 11:00 orders. It smelled so good on my drive home. The Sichuan Hot Chicken has heat!!!! Even my friends who liked spicy said it was spicy! I'm not a spicy person but I tried a bite of the chicken and it was moist and the skin was delish! The bun was so pretty. The meatball sandwich was amazing. Lean meatballs in a flavorful sauce. Also loved the egg salad sandwich. The bread was fluffy and firm; just right for the light egg salad! Forgot a snap of the sour cream and nori chips. But yummmm. May I have a Costco sized bag of it? Big tasty oniony chips. Oks has their great ideas for sandwiches. Look forward to trying others again! read more
