Overall, my entire family loved their meal here. This place does book up so I would recommend making reservations ahead of time. Even though when I asked AI where the best places to sit is, it said on the deck, I think really anywhere would be great because it's all open air, and remember it's in an atrium so not really open air but you can see everything even if you're sitting under the structured roof. The decor is gorgeous which is why I think even sitting under the roof is still an amazing experience. As we were walking back to our table, they showed us the meat display, and the dessert display, I noticed that there were no cookies which my younger son loves. I asked the man walking us back who I think is one of the managers if they had cookies and he said not at the restaurant, but that he might be able to find some elsewhere. Boy did that man deliver. He ended up coming back with two giant chocolate chip cookies and two giant sprinkle cookies which the Restaurant did not charge us for, that was great service right there. This meal is not cheap, but I think the quality is worth it. They have complementary bread and there are so many options of bread that they bring out. My older son absolutely loved it as did my younger son. It was hard to convincing them not to fill up on Bread. They also have a great kids menu which includes steak. My younger son love steak so it was really nice that I didn't have to order steak to share with him and I could order his own. Next time I need to get a side of fruit instead of fries because he ate the entire steak and he left the fries. My older son got chicken tenders and fries. He barely touched it, I think because he was so filled up with bread. Then my husband and I shared the seafood tower. At $140 it is not inexpensive, but I think the quality is there. It comes with lobster, a funny part of the evening is my older son exclaimed you killed a lobster! I don't think he ever has thought about where his food comes from because it was very clear with the lobster head that this was formerly a living creature. It also came with clams, mussels, shrimp, crab. It was all delicious and the two of us were stuffed. We were in and out in about an hour and Service was super attentive with two people dedicated per table to make sure water glasses were always filled. I went to Old Hickory Steakhouse last night for a business dinner and boy was I in for a treat! The dining area was very elegant and the staff was all attentive, pleasant, and helpful. I had salad which I wasn't the biggest fan of because it was very basic but to be fair, I generally speaking don't prefer salads. I also had the filet mignon, mashed potatoes, and chocolate cake. In addition, I had moscato. It was excellent! I'm really glad I had the opportunity to try this steakhouse. I would recommend trying it out for a nice dinner! read more

The food was amazing but let's start with the service. Our server treated us as if we were old friends trying out a restaurant he already loved. He made great recommendations based on his own experience. He was well versed in dry aged versus wet aged steaks. Everything was prepared with the utmost care. Hard to miss the cool, casual atmosphere of the Gaylord Resort. We started with seared scallops, bathed by this wonderful sauce with caviar. Then I had the lobster bisque, which was expertly prepared. I chose the dry aged wagyu Delmonico for my steak. It was seasoned well and full of flavor. The filet was flavorful and tender. This is my third time to Old Hickory Steakhouse and my wife's second time. This visit as the others was superb. We were having dinner with another couple and arrived a few minutes early for our reservation. The hostess greeted us warmly, found our reservation, and immediately handed us off to another hostess who took us to our table. Within moments were we're greeted by our waiter, Alex, who mentioned a few items to note, and said he'd collect waters for us while giving us a moment to review the appetizer and drink menus. Alex was excellent with his timing and attention to our meal. We ordered numerous items noting that the sides are family style. We found the sides were indeed enough for each of us to have a nice portion with our main dish. Sides were roasted Brussels sprouts and creamy golden potatoes. Both were quite tasty with the Brussels sprouts having a nice char/crispiness on the edges. My wife and I split the French onion soup to get started. It was perfectly salty with a wonderful sweetness from the onion. This was quite nice with a tasty hunk of bread under the cheese. Dinner was two wagyu ribeyes (prepared to the chefs preference), one filet Mignon butterflied and well done, and their homemade pasta tortelloni with spinach and mushroom as I recall. I added au puave sauce to mine. I did not need that as the ribeye was very tasty and so tender. All at the table expressed their enjoyment if not delight with the meal. We dined at Old Hickory on New Year's Eve. We did not have reservations and we were told that they were booked for the night. We were told, however, that there were 14 seats at the bar. So, we were lined up at the entrance at opening to seat our party of 9 there. First, there are only 10 seats at the bar. Because there were other people waiting with us, only 6 of us sat at the bar. Accurate information would have helped as the 3 who didn't stay would have never came as they weren't super hungry. The food was really good! No complaints there! I wish that we would have skipped the Potatoes Au Gratin, but that was on us. The servers at the bar were great! No complaints there, either! Our bill for 3 people on NYE was $350 without tip. Even though the food and service we received at the bar was amazing, I am giving them 4 stars. Part of it is that the hosts didn't even know how many seats were at the bar. But, mostly it was for what we observed while sitting at the bar. Even though the reservations were booked out, there were many tables sitting empty. Some people just came in and sat themselves...and were served. And the servers complained about the, being there, but didn't tell the, they couldn't be there. Then, they get sat a table or two, and all were heard was complaining that they were sat. We knew all this, because they were talking about this at the server part of the bar right next to where we were sitting. And the tables...they could have easily been turned over in the 1.5 hours we were there. The servers were just sitting around. I may sound harsh, but as a former restaurant FOH employee, that is what I observed. I would probably go back. The service we received was excellent and so was the food. I was pleasantly surprised by Old Hickory. I was waiting all week at the hotel to try it and there was a large crowd around the restaurant at opening. I would recommend getting reservations. I could usually tell what kind of dining experience I would have just with the starter bread. It was delicious! They have their butter shaped like honeycomb and they add drops of honey that was harvested on property. To start, we ordered a jumbo lump crap cake. I was happy to see it was full of crab and came with caviar and a small salad. The bone marrow had a good roast on the outside and had a lovely onion marmalade. I got the special that night of a smaller version of the tomahawk steak. It was perfectly cooked and came with roasted garlic and tomato. My +1 got the chicken and the bone was nicely Frenched. It made a great late night snack. The lobster mac n cheese was oh so gooey. The only downer for me was the dessert. The Black Forest cake was shaped like a cherry. Based on the Yelp reviews, I was really hesitant to eat here with the 3.7 star rating. However, friend who comes up here often assured me that it was great here so we gave it a try. So glad we did!! Service was truly five star plus. Couldn't have been any nicer and any more accommodating. My husband and I each had a drink and both were perfect. We no longer have super big appetites like we once did, so we opted to share the 8 oz fillet which was Devine! Cut like butter! We also shared the brussel sprout and squash side as well as the mushrooms. The mushrooms were so savory and the sauce was incredible that I also dipped my steak in it. We added the bearnaise and the au poivere sauces too. The au poivere was my favorite! My son ordered a piece of cake which he did not care for because it was dark chocolate. The food is good, a bit pricey, but somewhat justifiable because you are getting quality food and it is in a tourist area. The Artisanal Cheese platter was great. The French Onion soup was on the saltier side but it had great deep flavors (and it is pretty filling, it can be an entree for someone that doesn't each much). We also had the pork belly appetizer and it was very good. I ordered the 45 dry aged NY Strip and it was very good, but the dry aged nutty/funky flavors was not very noticeable. But it was cooked to perfection medium rare. Others ordered the Double Cut Colorado Lamb Chops and they said it was good, but nothing memorable. Another person in the party got the Center Cut Filet Mignon and it was very, VERY tender! For the sides, I think we got too many because the server said each 'em was enough for two people, but they are really for three to four with all the other food we got. Mac and Cheese, was ok. The mushrooms and asparagus were delicious. But the one we liked the most was the roasted poblano creamed corn. I got the Filet Mignon, and it was extremely juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The ambiance was the least notable part, but still great! And don't even get me started on the service; I was stunned by how good it was! The NY strip the person next to me ordered was overcooked, so they told the waiter what they thought. Not only was he respectful, but they also made a new one that took 4 minutes and was delicious. Then at the end, not only did we get a free cake (for someone's birthday), but they didn't charge us for the sodas either. I also got potato wedges alongside my steak; although I couldn't finish them, they were still good. Despite me eating a wedge, they didn't charge us for it. Now, the food. 50 year old sour dough AND olive oil from Italy AND butter made with honey from their beehive onsite?? Yes please!!!!! We had the bone marrow with amazing caramelized onions adding just the right amounts of sweetness, shared the salmon which was buttery on a bed of flavorful farro, truffle fries we could not stop devouring and wait till you see the pics of dessert that were not only incredibly beautiful but even more delicious! So here goes....lets start with the good. Service was awesome. Everyone here is really good and treat you like you're special and important. The venue is amazing. Just since we were here last year the have added more space and opened everything up. Really great open-air vibe to the whole place now. Now the bad...so expensive! We have been coming to GP for 14 years and always look forward to a meal here. It has always been the priciest spot in GP but now it is through roof. We always treat it as a special event so accepted that we would pay more but it is a little ridiculous now. Also the food would always help us justify the price tag but this time it did not. Everything was just bland. It really took me a while to calm down after seeing the prices and obviously from this review I haven't been able to move on quite yet. We started soup and salad. The lobster bisque was good but lacking something. Salt? The chunks of lobster were little flavor bombs but there wren only 2. Our wedge was decent but again was just missing something. Maybe a splash of red wine vinegar. Just meh. Now the really hard part, the steak. We got the $100 ribeye. Yeah $100! It was 18oz and had a nice crust on it and decent seasoning but it was not worth $100. At that price I should be able to cut it with a fork but it was a little tough to cut. It also had some tendon in it that made part of it un edible. I should have sent it back I know. We grabbed some scalloped potatoes and mushrooms for sides. Both were just blah and lacked seasoning. I usually get the mushrooms and loved them but not these. The potatoes had lots of cheese but again just lacked flavor. So extremely disappointed with the food and the prices. We will most likely skip the sit down meal from now on and just stop in for some apps and drinks at the bar. read more

My crab cake was good, I had salmon that was delicious. My husband got the wagyu steak and it was mediocre. We have made beef steaks on our own at home for $18/lb from Costco than this $80 steak. He always gets his steak medium rare and there was barely any pink and it was pretty hard to chew and eat. Needless to say I was glad I got the salmon. I got dessert and it was pretty but just okay. I wouldn't get it again. Not worth the calories. It was more of a jelly texture rather than a rich creamy texture I was expecting. I would stick with the seafood like I did and get the cheaper steak. They brought out these delicious sourdough buns with honey butter made from their own honey. At the end, we were served delicious chocolate truffles on the house. The wait was minimal and the restaurant is located in the center of the beautiful atrium, which gives you the feel of being outside while actually being inside with AC and without bugs. The server was fantastic in his recommendations and hospitality. I honestly didn't expect much from a place that has a slight touristy vibe to it. The food was fantastic (forgot to take pics of the steaks because we dove right in). I LOVED the bone marrow and the bread was so unique and the butters with local honey were flavorful too.
