We turned up during the (I use the term extremely loosely) 'Happy Hour'. We have a 13 month old and a 6 year old, both I like to think, well behaved. The bar itself was okay and the barmaid was really nice and friendly. The barman was a different matter. He seemed visibly annoyed by our presence, especially our kids. We left after one beer, as we felt so unwelcome and went to the Little Pub, which is a much nicer option. I went back to voice my opinion to the barman and he seemed to think he wasn't in any way unwelcoming and 'loved kids'. If so, he hides it very well. I'd give this mediocre pub one start if it weren't for the really nice barmaid. There are far better options and I hope the barmaid finds another bar that deserves her talents. As for the barman, I suspect that he's stuck there. read more

Mediocre at best. My wife had a fairly flavorless salmon and I had a likewise unimpressive chicken marsala. The chicken marsala was advertised as coming with mushrooms and I counted maybe 5 thinly sliced ones. Give me a break. Expected more for $24 a plate. Yes! If you're in the mood for a nice relaxing evening. This is a great spot. Amazing appetizers, wine, and food. Service was very good. Live music and great ambiance. In a very nice area in Fairfield. Walk down the road and you can grab a drink at another bar, ice cream, or a coffee. Stores in walking distance. Great date destination. I got oysters, meat and cheese platter, wine, and a lobster ravioli dish. For dessert I had the brownie sundae and everything I ate was superb. Will definitely be back soon! read more

Shrimp bisque was a bit salty. and the burger was large and seemed to be made from scratch, but it was a bit too garlically for my taste. The sweet potato fries on the other hand were cooked well and tasted great. The house wine was absolutely wonderful and the apple crisp desert with ice create was sinfully delicious. We could not get enough of this desert. My wife and I just loved the wait staff. It is probably the best service and wait staff in Fairfield! Extremely friendly and helpful and attentive really looking to please. I will return, but order perhaps the fish or steak dinner. Love eating at this restaurant! I've never had a meal that didn't rank a 5/5. The atmosphere is very inviting whether you are looking to have an intimate date night, hanging out with friends, or looking to pop in for a great happy hour. The bartenders and wait staff are always attentive and making sure that you are well taken care of. I've even been welcomed by the manager who asked if my meal was ok! Had a late lunch with my family here today. Two college kids and Two adults. We started with the chicken wings which were delicious but it was downhill from there. We ordered salads and wraps as entrees. I ordered a chopped salad with chicken. It was miniature and definitely not worth $18. The Caesar chicken wraps barely had any chicken or lettuce. All wrap no filling. Wraps are usually stuffed. These definitely were not. Over priced, small portions. Won't be returning. There are plenty other restaurants to choose from. read more

OPT is average. Their half off wine special is what brought my friend and I into the restaurant and everything else disappointed. The wait staff hovers like a needy set of parents and the food is just ok. The prices are decent and the food isn't bad; overall I'd give it a C+ rating. What a great place to eat! It's beautifully arranged, wonderfully staffed, and produces some very impressive dishes! We ate on a Tuesday evening (which I believe is a better test of a restaurant, since there is less pressure to perform) and ordered Pumpkin Ravioli, a burger, and a Caeser Salad. Piled high with crisp, fresh romaine, and large shavings of romano cheese the caeser was delicious. The ravioli was excellent, spiced to perfection and surprisingly pumpkin-flavored! The burger was hearty, well prepared and accompanied by a large helping of sweet potato fries. And all of this for under $50. We'll be back...and next time we'll bring friends. read more

First visit last night. Food was great. My friend ordered the meat and cheese plate, which I normally wouldn't eat. I had a bite and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the guac. My benchmark is a restaurant down the street and this was nearly as good. For dinner, the sushi grade tuna looked like a piece of art and the salmon was very good. I will definitely return. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the dessert sundae. The brownie was too hard and someone forgot to tell the chef that sundaes should be dripping in chocolate. read more

And the lobster tasted "off"... odd for peak season. The chips and guacamole looked delicious, but upon biting into it all I tasted was lots of lime. My friends and I were so excited when we saw the construction crews working hard on one of our old favorite spots. Our group was a regular crew at Tommy's, and never quite had the same love affair with Bravo. The very first week they opened, we stopped in, it was later in the evening, so we opted just for drinks. Two of us arrived first, and sat at a high top in the bar area. We were not greeted, or payed any attention to. I thought maybe we should order from the bar, but hesitated, as not to annoy a server whose table we might be occupying. We asked a server walking by if we should wait, or go to the bar and order...confused...he went to find someone better qualified to answer the question. An angry waitress rushed over, "are you still on?" she yelled at her co-worker. When he answered no, she proceeded to yell at us, "what are you having?" I held back a chuckle, looked at my friend, and told her we were waiting for others and perhaps we should move to the bar. When the rest of our group arrived, we ordered drinks, and moved out onto the patio for some fresh air (apparantly, they're trying to pay for the construction by skimping on the air conditioning). While outside, on the OUTDOOR patio, a member of our group lit up a cigarette. Now, not that I'm advocating smoking, but considering it was past 10 pm, and there wasn't another soul in sight let alone in air sharing range, I don't see an issue. The manager rushed out, and insisted the cigarettte be extinguished immediately. When the smoker asked why...the answer received was that there was no smoking allowed on the property (yes even the deserted outdoor patio). I understand policy is policy, but paying customers, even the icky smoking type, should be treated with respect and not reprimanded like adolescents. I would have preferred for him to explain nicely and calmly that it wasn't allowed. To top the evening off, after finishing our drinks, we attempted to go back in the way we came out, and instead, we had been locked out! They locked us out on the patio! Well, if they were trying to hint at something, the point was received, and my point remains, we will never be back. read more

Started off with the pretzel appetizer and fried provolone which were yummy and I would recommend getting. Drinks were pretty tasty. For meals, I had Caesar salad which was bland and disappointing, not a quality homemade dressing like I was expecting but I enjoyed picking off the plates of others which were better than mine. One of the best meals I've had in a LONG time. We met up here with a few friends from out of town by their recommendation. Yes it's expensive - but it's Fairfield, what do you expect. The martinis were great...STRONG. We tried a couple of the raw bar platters and everything on them was amazing. My girlfriend and I opted for the salmon as our entrees and were both pleased. The boys got steak and scallops and they both said they were outstanding. My boyfriend said the scallops were some of the best he'd ever had. We've come here a number of times to meet up for a mid-week dinner, never had a bad meal! Burgers, salads, mac and cheese and their entree specials have always been great. Quality ingredients prepared well. There are wine specials on Tuesdays I think. The bar has live music some nights and draws a good crowd, and if you're looking for a more quiet atmosphere their dining room is separate from the bar. I definitely recommend! read more

I ordered my burger medium but it came with no pink visible whatsoever, and extremely salty. The calamari and steamed mussels to start were just 'meh'. While it's not unexpected that the tip was already added to the bill for our party of 8, the 20% seems too generous given the food shortcomings. Solid. Nice room. Excellent paella. It's a dish large enough to serve two. What looks like a traditional American restaurant actually has a varied menu and a pretty decent wine list too.
