Old Time Drive In has been a classic in my family for decades. We would always come here for a familly dinner and to spend time with eachother. At the end of the day, it is a diner, you can't come and expect Michelin star quality or service. But for what they are, they are amazing, friendly, and enjoyable. A bit overpriced for some items, but overall I like this place and have come multiple times over the years. Drive thru takes a little longer because there's more food prep going on, which is totally fine with me. My favorite thing is the chicken filet sandwich with fries or zucchini. I don't particularly enjoy their onion rings as much because they're too greasy. I like their burgers as well, but they're just regular diner type burgers. Sometimes this place is hit our miss, but mostly good. Occasionally I've gotten limp fries or rubbery chicken, but it's usually been fine. I've actually always received good service when I've gone there. Everyone has been friendly or at least pretty friendly. read more

Wow! Talk about great food, and service. The amount of food you get is incredible. I drive 8 miles one way, just to get good quality food. I could drive 1/4 mile to get "In-n-Out", but I'll be honest Old Time Drive-In has a better double cheese burger hands down! Try their double cheese burger and judge it yourself. In-n-Out gives you two thin patties that's usually undercooked whereas Old Time gives you two FAT ASS patties that are perfectly cooked. Don't get me wrong, I love In-n-Out but they are a bit over rated. The service at the drive through is great. Very kind and helpful employees that go above and beyond to make sure you're satisfied before driving away. All I can say is be your own judge and try the food. If you don't like it oh well, but if you do I promise you, you will be back again, and again. My only gripe is I wish they were closer. read more

This diner has been here for a long time and they have a drive thru. Inside has been decorated for the Halloween season. From what the server stated it was her bosses doing. The boss just so happened to be right there. Super nice lady. The employees here are all so nice. I had a cheeseburger with grilled onions and zucchini sticks. My mom had a broccoli and cheese potato and a hot dog. For diner food this joint hits the spot. They have a variety of options too. Reasonable, clean, great service and good diner food. Great place for quick bite. Hubby and I stopped there after our hike. I had breakfast special eggs, bacon and pancakes. The pancakes (2) were fluffy and delicious. Hubby had the chicken gyro, it had too much dressing for my taste but it was very tasty. The place is small and it was not full otherwise it would feel crowded. Today I ordered some taquitos, took a bite out of one only to be cold in the center, I told the manager and she looked at me like what do you want me to do, then took the tray, they literally put the bitten taquito back into the fry basket...kinda gross. You really couldn't give me a new taquito? They are the most basic Costco cheap taquito you can buy. read more

Old Time is a cute little place. Let me tell you, it has been quite a while since I have been able to take my family of 4 out to breakfast for anything reasonable, I'm talking about $55! Their portions are quite large and are made of some serious quality ingredients. One of our orders was sausage and eggs. @h3n is the last time that you ordered that same breakfast and you received 5 sausage links? I mean, c'mon! That's awesome. Eggs were cooked to perfection and then some. The toast was toasty but not too dark and not too cold. The pancakes were fluffy and were just right. My lil one loved her breakfast: buttering her own toast, cutting her food, etc. My corned beef and hash was so yummy. It went perfectly with my over medium eggs. While we ate in the dining room, we watched so many people come in, order and leave with some massive burritos and bags of breakfast combos. There is a drive thru here too. Wow. This spot has apparently been here for quite some time now. I hope to make it back here very soon. There is free parking in the back and a nice patio along the side of the building if you prefer to dine al fresco. It Is a family spot for sure. Order in the front and find a seat. Just finished enjoying the best burger I've had in awhile...and I lovvvvvvve hamburgers!! I ordered a jr. cheeseburger & fries and it was fresh tasting, the cheese was perfect (not chewy like some places), lettuce, tomato, and dressing. PERFECT! Exactly what a hamburger should be. The steak fries were just as good (couldn't finish them all...but i tired). I drove thru for the convenience and server was friendly, shared their hours and was very nice. The best casual food in town! The menu is diverse and they even have healthy options. The Quality is 5 stars and they are still very reasonable with generous portions. This is my emergency go to breakfast place, I've been going here for a good breakfast for years, and I was surprised it was rated so low. I will admit I haven't tried many of their burger, and lunch items, I generally like breakfast for lunch anyway. One exception is they serve a fantastic BLT! I have noticed the [recent?] change in management, and the eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes, are much better, and cooked just like I ordered. Went for Dinner with the wife on a Wednesday night. Drive-thru was packed & it was busy. Good thing right. We ordered a double cheeseburger with pastrami, combo with chili cheese, fries and onions on top. $22 out the door. We eat there for hot food. When my plate came out, I pulled some fries off the side of the plate. I can tell they've been sitting there for a while and were not hot semi-cold. I let my wife know that the fries were cold and a patron another table said hey that's weird mines are too so long story short I was a guy that went and complained about my fries being cold. The young lady took back my plate and brought it back two minutes later with the same fries because I had put pepper on mine chili cheese fries and they basically warmed them up in the microwave the whole plate I asked for hot fries, new ones which I'm sure bothered them. She asked to cook if he warmed up my fries in the microwave and the cook replied yes. This is the last time I'll be eating here. I drove from Sylmar to come here because my wife likes it here. It's usually pretty good but this is what I'm giving it. One star food was not the best burger was dry check your food. I am glad I didn't take it to go. Been coming here for a couple of months. I have been driving by for years. Decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. After probably 6 to 7 visits my husband came home with our order$58 , I ordered a pastrami burger. Imagine my surprise when I bit in and tasted charcoal after uncovering my Burger I realized that the char marks literally went almost all the way through the burger. After calling the restaurant and the basic non response from the manager I decided I would spend my money elsewhere. I have thought Alot about posting a negative review but the more I thought of how they really didn't care about the fact that they served inedible food and didn't try to make it right. The date was July 11, between 7 and 9 pm. Made an order at the drive-thru for a Chef's Salad with carne asada instead of ham. "Oh you want a steak salad?" squawked the speaker. I repeated my order. "Ok. anything else?" "Nope, I just wanna Chef's Salad with carne asada instead of ham, no cucumbers and 1000 island dressing." I replied. Despite repeating it three times- I did NOT get what I ordered. As can be seen in the photo; I got a paper thin piece of meat (closer to a deli slice than a steak) on top of lettuce and a sliced quarter of a tomato. It had none of the standard chef salad ingredients (like egg, pickle, etc.) and it cost $2 more! The meat was over-done and tasteless, if not for the tomato pieces the meal would've been a total loss. Not Cool Mr. Old Time! I place the blame entirely on the senior management because (I assume that) they make up the ingredient lists for the Huge menu selection available all day every day.
