The view is amazing at the restaurant if you can get a window seat. The food was okay; we had fish/chips and great lakes whitefish to share. The baked potato, side veggies, and whitefish rangoons were good. Our soup came out cool (possibly because it was the end of the night) but our waitress took them back for us. She was a great waitress- very friendly and informative. She gave us tips for the menu and our vacation in general. Overall the food was good but nothing special. We recommend coming for the view.

Ordered lobster Mac & cheese and the perch dinner - both tasty and quickly served. Get the bill for 2 entrees and a single Diet Pepsi for ~$76 and see the "Administrative Sustainability Fee" of 3.5% added. No it's not a ton of money. BUT it's absolutely ridiculous to add a bs fee to an already expensive meal. That doesn't even include a tip...so lame. If the food hadn't been so good, I'd have dropped it down to 2 stars, but at the same time, we won't be back.

Our server Lisa was so warm and friendly (as if she was your mother) and took great care of us! Got the parmesan topped whitefish with creamy mushroom soup and coleslaw. The mushroom soup was creamy and hearty. I liked the coleslaw - just the right amount of sweet and sour for me. I enjoyed the fish very much. We would have gotten some desserts but we were so full. We did see that the cheesecake slices were huge! Would definitely recommend this place!

To place a carry out order, you must come inside and sit down at a table, then tell your server that you want to place a to go order. Lisa was helpful, told me the order would be out pretty quickly, and she brought me a glass of water for while I waited. I ordered the mackinaw burger with onion rings, and hot ham and cheese with fries. I also ordered a coconut cream pie and a Dutch cherry pie slice. All of this was to go, and she packed it up and brought me carry-bags for it. The coconut cream pie was good. The Dutch cherry was ok but, I have had better. The French fries were good--crispy and lightly seasoned. The onion rings were large and hot/fresh, but they are battered (I prefer breaded), and they are pretty greasy. The burger was nice sized and cooked well done, which I like. It came with cheese, lots of pickles, relish, lots of mustard, and just a little ketchup. The hot ham and cheese was okay. I chose white bread rather than rye or wheat. The bread was not special--seemed like white bread you'd buy at any grocery in a plastic wrapper. There's an up-charge for the onion rings. I say skip that and get the fries. For the 2 sandwiches, 1 with fries, one with onion rings, and 2 pieces of pie, my bill was $51.36 before any tip added on. I get that it's a short season up north here, so I expect everything to be a little pricey. If the burger had a bit of char and came on an upscale bun, if the hot ham and cheese came on a thicker toasted bread, I'd say ok. But for what we got, it was overpriced.

No coupon is worth that abuse." But then curiosity got the better of us. We wanted to see this mess for ourselves. Color us disappointed! We must have hit it on an off day or something, because we had a decent breakfast and she even subbed fruit for the meat for me! I had three glasses of good iced tea, and the service was on point. Even with the coupon it cost pretty much what we normally pay for breakfast but I assume it's hit or miss with the food and service here. My guess is if it doesn't look crowded go for it. You may, or may not, be disappointed in any given day. We were pleasantly surprised today.

While we were waiting, another family arrived after us and stood there for about 15 minutes without anyone greeting them or even saying, "We'll be right with you." Once we were seated, we were placed in a corner while most other guests were seated out on the main dining floor. It honestly felt like we were forgotten about. Our waitress rarely came back to our table. We were seated at a table with no napkins in the dispenser, so we had to ask for those, and no straws were brought with our drinks. It was difficult to even get our waitress's attention. If you're staying at the hotel and planning to use the breakfast coupon, be aware that only four menu items qualify, and none of them are particularly appealing or a good value. I ordered a Diet Pepsi but was served Dr Pepper instead. I assumed it was an honest mistake the first time, but my refill was also Dr Pepper. When I finally mentioned it, I was told that their "Diet Coke" was Dr Pepper, which didn't make any sense since Dr Pepper and Diet Coke are completely different soft drinks. To top it off, our bill was over $60 for food that was average at best. Overall, the service and value just weren't there. I'd recommend saving your money and eating at Darrow's or Pancake Chef instead.
