I think this place is okay. My latte was a little overly sweet but the regular latte was pretty good. Almond croissant was not great but I can't ask too much of this area. I've been here a few times now and I LOVE it!! I have been asking Todd (the owner) to make me whatever he feels like making that day, and I could not tell you what's in it but it's ALWAYS delicious!! The coffee is wonderful :) highly recommend this coffee roulette method :) My favorite part about coming though is talking to Todd! He's super friendly and happy and it makes my morning that much better! They also do a pay it forward program, where you can pick which drink to buy for someone who needs it! They were open today despite the snow and ice! Todd is very enthusiastic about coffee and he always picks some of the best tasting beans out there. I'm a cold brew frequent but today tried a hot Pine latte and was pleasantly surprised- easy to drink, slight pine flavor and scent, and very comforting to sip on as i hobbled back home on the ice. In the 3.5 months I've spent in Portland, I've drank a lot of coffee and Ole Latte is one of my favorite spots. The coffee is very good. I usually order a macchiato or cappuccino, but I've had friends order regular coffee here and also love it. I even asked for something off menu once (a dirty matcha), and while he thought it sounded weird, the owner happily obliged and made me one and it was perfect. The best part is the guy who runs the place. Super friendly and a genuinely nice person. It makes me want to go out of my way to stop by even when there's a closer coffee shop to me. read more

This place is our jam! I go here every week with my coffee squad. The baristas know us and our order and of course serve us super wonderful coffee. They can do all the classic espresso drinks along with chai tea. They will also have a seasonal syrup that they will mix into their lattes-- currently they serve a speakeasy latte, which I believe is a reduced rum flavor. On top of the drinks, I also recommend the pastries. The croissants are our favorite-- they usually don't last a block or two on our way back to work. the place deserves special recognition for their focus on "paying it forward," that is, you can buy a drink and it will be reserved for anyone else that might not be able to get coffee that day. If you pay it forward, you get 10% off your order and you'll be able to put up a tally on the board for others to claim should they need a cup of joe. Lastly, I'm writing this in the middle of the COVID 19 thing. If you are a regular here, please buy a gift card or merch if you can! *My 240 review!! Yay!! Cheers to matcha and latte art!* Since I can't live without matcha, I wanted to see what Portland had to offer on it...turns out sadly not much. There's a few places, but not enough yet. Hopefully in the future. Well this place definitely stood out to me for two good reasons. They have matcha and they do latte art! Coming from the bay area, California, we have latte art places and it's really cute and fun to take pictures of our drinks lol. But it also shows talent, which is really cool! I was set on coming here. Arriving to the area, I couldn't find it. But remembering what I went to through before, I stopped looking for an actual place/building and started to look for a truck or pod. There it was, with a couple other pods. It's a very small place. You order right from the window. The day we went, the owner, Todd was working. He's a really cool guy. I asked him about the latte art and he was straight up honest and funny, saying how he could do some, but not all. He made us a swan and a bear. It was really cool. He did a really good job on them. The Matcha Lattes were amazing too. I wish I got it in a large. So much matcha taste to it. They weren't super hot either, didn't burn my tongue. Definitely something to post about. You must come check them out! There's of course other (coffee) drinks too. But if you're like me, come for the matcha. You won't be disappointed. tldr; there are SO many amazing coffee options in Portland so don't do yourself the disservice of coming to this one. I'll be the first to admit that Portland is a haven for coffee lovers, but this was by far one of the worst coffee shops I've had the displeasure of visiting. Reading the great reviews from fellow yelpers and given it's close proximity to our office, it seemed like a good choice for an afternoon coffee break. It's a cute coffee stand near PSU, located next to a bagel and Mexican food stand. We just wanted some good iced coffee to cool off, and the guy behind the counter said he could make us something special that we'd be guaranteed to love. 10 min later, he puts out two of the smallest cups of iced coffee (that were half ice, mind you) and says that'll be $5... okay so this must be some mind blowing drink right? Wrong. It tasted like sugar water, sprinkled with cinnamon--a watered down horchata if you will. Neither of us was happy with the drink, and I couldn't believe it was $5 for a small cup that was so distasteful. The guy behind the counter saw the look on my face and asked me what I thought, and when I said I didn't really like it, he offered to make me another one. A few minutes later, he hands me a vanilla latte that was equally unimpressive. Looking at the menu, this was a cheaper drink than the mystery drink he first made, and when I asked, he said well I didn't make you pay for this one! True, but I didn't take the first drink with me? And it was satisfaction guaranteed, as he boasted while pitching his coffee to us. I was just ready to leave so I let him keep the change and trashed this coffee on my walk back. The service was also very impartial. We told him we were in a rush, and he said he'd whip something up really fast for us, no problem. Then, two other people came behind us and not only did he make their coffee before ours, but he also let them cut in front of us and pay. Then he turned to us and said, "they're regulars!" So? We were there first and we already mentioned we didn't have much time. The customer service was simply terrible. Yes, he remade my drink, but it wasn't better the second time, and his snarky tone wasn't appreciated. I definitely won't be back. read more

My Son now takes the bus from Home to School and back. It's a bit of a convoluted route that has him change buses downtown and near this Ole Latte Coffee outpost. This is where the Kid orders is Mocha, chats up with guy behind the counter, and where he insisted that I go, see, and meet. I really enjoyed sharing a part of my Son's life experiences here at Ole Latte Coffee. My cappuccino was really good, with the heart design staying around until the last gulp. The Kid's Mocha and the friendly banter was was what he loves and keeps him coming back. He also got a double punch on his card for both our drinks. read more

First, the is a food truck, y'all. Maybe I should've known that, but I didn't, so calling that out for you. I love food tucks, but I went on a blustery day and might've postponed if I realized. Moving on... I wanted to love this! I was craving bagel and eggy goodness so I had high hopes. Alas, those hopes were not realized. For $8, I got a completely disappointing sandwich. I ordered the Madras on a poppyseed bagel. I ended up dismantling the whole thing and eating each component separately in an attempt to determine why this sandwich of pork, cheese, turkey, egg, onion, and arugula tasted so bad. I concluded that the combination of the "porkstrami" and the sauce on this sandwich just don't work for me. I also find the sandwich combos too fussy. I guess I'm not hipster enough. I should've just had a regular bagel with cream cheese. On the plus slide, service was friendly, the egg on the sandwich was fully cooked (not runny), and bagel is good quality (still not a NY bagel, but definitely leaps and bounds better than normal). I think they use good ingredients and love in the food. It's just not my taste. Next time I'm near campus, I might try again. read more

The quality here is definitely a cut above chain and University cafes. The regular drip ($2 for a small) was very good, the espresso drinks even better. Big kudos for the pay it forward system, how heartfelt. Owner/workers are pro doggy so another plus. Are they the best coffee in the area now? No. There's (thankfully) been a minor boom in the area around the PSU campus with the additions of In-J, Coava, and Ristretto. But Ole still serves proficient espresso drinks (including a very good spicy chai), has a wonderful 'pay it forward' system, and arguably the friendliest baristas in Portland ... they're actually way too chatty for me, but I can still appreciate the attitude. Is there better coffee to walk to? Probably. Do they do everything well? Absolutely not (DO NOT order a decaf espresso drink here, it's a drip with a thin layer of milk foam lathered on top). It's still a lovely little resource for the campus, and they should be supported, along with their sister bagel shop. read more

Coffee is an essential part of my day, and this food cart by Ole Latte makes coffee that's just as good as any of the nice coffee shops. Plus, there aren't many good coffee shops in this area, so having a competent coffee cart is important! I usually go for my typically latte, but sometimes for a bit of a sweet kick I go for their mocha, which really comforts my soul during the Portland winter rainy months. The Coffee here is good, though nothing crazy. They roast their own beans, and the roasts are well done, but the actual pouring / preparation leaves some thing to be desired. Additionally, it's a little on the expensive side. Nonetheless, the service is quick and very kind, the cart has an attractive look to it with a wood-burnt menu, and... Pretty good bagel sandwiches. The Mt. Thielsson is unique and tasty as it includes candied lemons. I had a Madras egg sandwhich also which was good but since it has an over easy egg on it, it's pretty impractical. I love over easy eggs but when it's on a sandwhich that's meant to be eaten with your hands you're just asking for a mess. They should either offer a knife and fork or switch to an egg patty of some type. Still delicious though. read more

I went here and got a soy vanilla late. It was meh. It was a cute little place so maybe this just isn't there specialty but if I did a taste test between Starbucks and this place...I'd pick starbucks.
