My family and I were visiting in Gatlinburg for the first time and there were so many restaurants to choose from so I did a google search and I chose this because of the great reviews. I don't think I will be returning only because the food didn't sit well with my stomach. My husband and I and our friend had upset tummy's afterwards. I ordered the honky tonk salad. My husband ordered the chicken wings and our friend had the chicken tenders. The food was good and it did taste good going down. The atmosphere was great, restaurant was clean. Service was good. There is a cool photo machine to take a picture and it is sent to you via email. That' was cool. There is also a gift shop inside the store. I've recently moved back to Tennessee and wanted to try Ole Red because I've heard great things about the band and the environment. And it did not disappoint. Our service was phenomenal, servers name was "Jesse Bear". He was very friendly, very entertaining, overall an amazing job and really did make the visit so much better. The food was good. The tater tots were good and I love how they serve the cornbread. My overall experience was fantastic and I want to thank Jesse Bear for all the attention that he gave us. Food was actually pretty exciting. When we walked in, they made us go upstairs, even though there were tables on the dining room floor open. Then the entertainer for a Saturday night was only one guy, and he kept asking us to sing along with him when most of us did not know the music there were two ladies singing really loud... He wasn't reading the audience. But I did get a kick out of the fried green tomatoes and for a vegetarian, they had lots of options I ended up with the white mac & cheese, which tasted like it was premade.(like Panera.) and brussels sprouts were a little bit overcooked. The people with me were raving about the pork sandwiches. A lot of beer drinkers, and the party seem to be later although we left before it happened. We had a good experience at Ole Red in Gatlinburg. There were 11 of us, and they handled our group well, which we appreciated. The food was good, the service was good, and overall it was a solid place to spend some time. The prices are reasonable, and it's definitely a fun atmosphere, especially when there's a live singer, which adds a lot to the experience. That being said, this was actually our second time here, and we feel about the same, it's just kind of middle of the road. The drinks were okay (a little mid), and while everything was good, nothing really stood out as amazing. We didn't hate it, but we didn't love it either, if that makes sense. We'd come back again if we were already in the area, but it's probably not somewhere we'd go out of our way for. Visited Ole Red during the Spring of 2026 with 7 adults. We were seated right away which was pleasantly unexpected due to it being Spring Break and right at 7:30. Took about 20 minutes for our server to come by to introduce herself at which time we placed our drink order. About 20-25 minutes later we received our drinks and then ordered, and then noticed the table next to us leave after saying they had been waiting an hour and a half to get their food which never arrived apparently. While still waiting for our food another group sat down next to us. After approximately 30 minutes the table next to us got up and left due to the server never coming by once. During the hour and a half of waiting for our food our server asked one of the people at our table if they needed more water at which time the server came back with one refill of water for that person and never asked if anyone wanted another drink or more water. At an hour and forty five minutes our server came back and said our meals were next to be served. We decided to wait........and observed 5 other tables get their meals. Finally after two hours our food started to arrive........cold and missing items!! We asked to speak with a manager who took another 20 minutes to show up where we explained all the issues and advised we would happily pay for our drinks but would not be paying for the meals. The manager became confrontational and then began providing excuses for all the mistakes instead of just accepting that this restaurant is in need of new management and staff!! After some back and forth the young lady said she would "take care of our meals but we needed to pay for the drinks". We took our checks and then had to hunt for someone to give our money to due to no staff members coming back to accept our payment. With so many choices on the strip in Gatlinburg this is one spot you can skip if you're looking for a quality meal and service. The only thing worth noting was the band provided quality entertainment while we waited for a disastrous experience to unfold! I hope Blake Shelton only provided his name to this establishment and doesn't actually have a stake in this place! read more

There's SO many other restaurants don't waste your time. Best part was the glass my drink came in I could keep! Service was embarrassingly slow with no apologies and the manager and our waitress were bickering which was awkward. Would never go back. 3 stars is being generous. What a huge disappointment. We went there tonight (Thursday) at just after 8. They sat our party of 7 (4 adults, 1 older kid and 2 younger kids) relatively quickly and the waitress was right there for our drink order. Back fast with drinks and took our food order. About 35 mins later she came back and my in-laws had decided that the music volume was too much for them and they were just going to get their food to go. Waitress was very accommodating. About 10-15 mins later their food came out and they left. At this point we're 45-50 mins after ordering, kids are getting tired and cranky. I asked the waitress if she had an idea on how much longer until our food came out and her response was that the kitchen was backed up and it would be at least another 30 mins. At least an hour and fifteen mins from order until delivered?? Why wouldn't you inform customers, especially with small children, of that kind of delay?? At this point we paid for our drinks and left. My daughter was the most disappointed. She was looking forward to her first "dinner concert" and getting her kids meal in a dog bowl. Ole Red was on our list to eat at while in town but if they can't get it right on a Thursday not sure we want to go there when it's busy. read more

Corporate came in and forced them all to align with the other restaurants. Kitchen will not accommodate people with allergies. Disappointing. Won't be back. "Talent" was not talented. Seems Blake Shelton would care a little more about his customers as well as his businesses. If you do come, be prepared to shout to be heard. Even when the bands aren't playing. Very loud atmosphere. If you get lucky, you can observe a bar fight escalate because they no longer have security. That was fun. On a good note, server was kind. Brisket Tater Tots were supposed to have gravy and cheese curds besides red hot sauce. Plenty of the hot sauce, couldn't find the curds, little to no gravy, and meat was not worth the effort to chew. Burrito was LOADED with onions and tomatoes (the two items we did not want but given the "rules", we decided to pick them out once we got the burrito) and cold to the touch. Cheese inside was still cold and in its shredded form. Manager came, was told the issue... she said they do indeed swap out ingredients. We had already been seated for over an hour and had waited on the food for most of that time. When the manager asked if we wanted it replaced, we hesitated but finally said yes. She brought out the new burrito, placing it not so kindly on the table. I thanked Kelly (the manager) and she snorted and walked away. We dig into the burrito. Cold, cold, cold!! Meat? Fatty. We asked for the bill (shouldn't have been charged), paid and left. Huge disappointment. Won't ever step foot in this restaurant again. Terrible business. read more

Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, even as she juggled and navigated through a number of bar tables. We had the fried green tomatoes with ranch and blue cheese dressings. They were delicious, crispy, but easily fell apart. My husband had a club sandwich with potato tots. The tots were a bit doughy but still good. He loved his sandwich. I had the Impossible Burger "Smash-mouth" with steak fries. It was tasty, but the potato bun got soggy pretty quickly. We loved our corner seating by the front window. People watching at its finest. This is your good ole good time country bar in the state that is the birthplace of country music. I first had Ole Red last year in Nashville, but I was bar hopping that night, so this was my first time trying their food and specialties. I came here with my brother as well as my dad. Now, my brother may not be a drinker anymore, but my dad and I will still drink. I was the one to actually have a specialty, going with their Mango Sunrise where you get to keep the glass they serve it to you in. That glass will be coming back to Connecticut with me. The drink was the right amount of sweet that I need to mask the liqueur. We had the Cheese Curds for our appetizer, and I'll speak for what I had with the Kiss My Country Chicken Sammich. Both of these were actually pretty good and quite filling. I didn't need anything else to eat after that. My go-along with the sammich were their tots, which were mad crispy! These were actually pretty big for tater tots, and when done well, it's paradise to eat. These were darn good. If there was one thing I would have liked more, it's that I would have liked to see more live performances while I was there. When we arrived there was a decently good-looking woman performing a country cover of Dancing Queen, but after that it was a while before we got any more live music. By the time that restarted, we were about finished. Maybe we came while they were on break or needed to clean the stage or something. TOURIST TRAP ALERT This place is a straight-up scam wrapped in Southern kitsch. We were charged $70 for 4 Modelo pints. You read that right--seventy bucks for four every day draft beers. No bottle service, no gold flakes, just standard Modelo in what they call a "souvenir" pint glass... except no one told us that until the check dropped. When we asked what the hell happened, we got greeted by Charlie, the "powerful assistant manager"--smug smile, shiny head, and the swagger of someone who just discovered the power of a laminated "manager" card. Instead of helping, he told us to read the menu more carefully and basically laughed us off. Absolutely zero customer service, and all powerless ego. It felt like getting mugged with a smile. We came back to speak with the general manager Tiffany, who, to her credit, was apologetic and offered to discount the "souvenir" glasses we never asked for. Even she hinted that Charlie's behavior was out of line and she would review camera footage to verify his attitude. Funny because the other gal working there, was not surprised by Charlie's power play response. Bottom line: avoid this place unless you enjoy being overcharged and belittled. There are a ton of better spots in the area--Jason Aldean's was a much better experience, better vibes, and honest service. Sad way to end a great day in the Smokies. This is not a place I would recommend unless you're desperate. Came here for a weekend bachelorette weekend and got the pulled pork sandwich with tater tots. The good... the slaw in the sandwich was actually pretty good! However the pork was soooooo dry I needed to smother is in BBQ sauce just to eat it and there was so much butter toasted on the bun that you could see it ooze out if you pushed on the bun. The tater tots were not traditional tots... they are like a potato ball tossed in the fryer and they don't come out crispy. (Not my cup of tea). Nobody ate their entire meal for one reason or another. Also beware, we had a table of 7 and requested all of our checks be separated. The waitress automatically added 20% to our split checks and didn't say anything. We almost added another 20% until someone in the crew said something. The only complaint which I feel like was a big one was the food. I got the chicken and waffles and the waffles were really good! I have never had a seasoned waffle so that was really nice to try! But the chicken on the other hand .... Can't say the same. I tried cutting my chicken and I nearly done shook the table over and spilt my family's drinks. I'm not sure if it was the crust or the chicken itself but it wasn't all that. Which is disappointing for the price that it was.
