Was meeting a friend from Silver spring and this was in the middle. The reviews came across well so we went. So Delicious! We made it for Happy Hour. Had the Red and White sangria, delicious. I had the Gyro Flatbread and the crust on the dough! *Chef's Kiss* delicious texture. She had the Mediterranean Bowl and was able to substitute the Chicken shawarma for their lamb... After adding some taziki, mouth watering. The baba ganoush appetizer (at recommendation by our server, the amazing daughter of the owners) was beyond delicious as well. A cute hidden gem. This place has well put together finger foods as well as a full lunch if you want something more in depth. I typically go here for a quick bite. They do have vegan options which I love and the place is not small but not too big. It's in an old building on Main Street and the old architecture makes it charming. I will def be back. Really great mediterranean spot! We got the chance to stop by for lunch the other day and all the food was amazing! I tried the falafel plate app and the chicken shawarma pita. The service was phenomenal. I felt so safe sitting in a nook by the window. Lot's of space to social distance. Price is reasonable. Happy hour is from 3pm to 6pm. Food is cooked well and seasoned well. My lamb kabobs were on point. The lamb was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The portions were decent. I'll be a frequent diner. I wish I had completed this review back in February, when I visited the place. So this review won't have my usual thoroughness and I apologize for that. My daughter and I popped in after driving past it many times, and wanting to try it. We both felt a very light lunch was in order, and as they are known for great appetizers it sounded right. We were very glad we tried it! We shared an order of bacon-wrapped dates as a starter. They were luscious and such a great marriage of taste and texture. I had a Greek salad and added gyro (lamb meat), and it was a delight. Fresh, fresh ingredients and the addition of gyro made it a perfect, flavorful experience. I honestly don't recall what my daughter had for her entrée because it was so long ago - but I do recall she declared it delicious. We agreed the service was good and the place very clean. read more

Mixed feelings about my experience here. I wanted to enjoy the outdoor seating but there is currently construction in progress. I wish I knew that before arriving. I also wanted to try their falafel but they were out... if there is one thing a Mediterranean restaurant should have... side eye. The crab dip is ok, there was some lump meat inside. The phone was consistently ringing which seems like a great sign for consistent orders and there was a decent crowd that came in while I was heading out. The server seemed rushed although it wasn't busy while I was there. I may come back to try the falafel and maybe a wrap or skewer during another visit but I won't go out of my way. The servers are wearing masks which is great for COVID precautions. The bathroom is clean and I think their signs should be more visible up front. read more

Service was terrible. I showed up with two of my friends for dinner one night for the first time, figured we would try something new. It took probably about 10 to 15 minutes for a server to even come to our table - and that was only after we actually locked eyes with someone we learned was the manager. Other people were being served and seated, and we were still waiting... We were told our server was busy with some disabled customers, and our new server was very nice.. At that point, we were ready with our both drink and meal orders because I knew I could not be there all night waiting, with my dog at home. After putting in our orders, more than 30 minutes went by and still no food - and nothing we ordered should be taking that long unless they were actually killing the livestock. Server did come by once to apologize for the delay, but there was a party there and everyone else's order had gotten pushed in order to take care of the party apparently. Finally I gave up and asked someone for our server, and I told him I needed to cancel my order because I needed to leave. Manager then came by and first said that 30 minutes wasn't that long to wait but he wanted to make it right, and said he had checked and our food was only a few minutes from being done. I said if the food was only a few minutes, I could wait for a to-go order, but I needed to leave. After that, he said he needed to check (which tells me he didn't actually check when he said he did the first time) and when he came back, he said that my order had already been canceled, so it would be a longer wait. My friends decided they would wait it out, and I had to leave. I do appreciate the fact that he comped my little Margarita, which I was trying to chug at that point to get my moneys worth when I thought I would have to pay for it. But I will never go back, because the service was ridiculously bad for a Friday night dinner hour. But the place was definitely not packed when we were there. Not sure if there's a separate party room where this party was, but the delay was just totally unacceptable. read more

I am so disappointed. Usually the food I order from Olive on Main is good but today was horrific. I am allergic to gluten and ordered the main burger, medium well, no bread with jalapeños, grilled onion, green peppers and tomatoes. I also ordered the fried eggplant. My order arrived with the marinara container smashed and spilled all over the eggplant. However the most harmful was the burger. First it arrived with bread. That alone could have sent me into anaphylactic shock. Additionally the burger was so rare, the cow was still mooing. The one tired piece of lettuce was wilted and covered with jalapeños. I had one or two peppers. I had to throw it out and pray nothing was cross contaminated. I should get a refund or a call from the manager. This meal could have gone left so quickly. read more

The only reason for 2 stars is the burgers were good. Otherwise, the food ranged from mediocre to inedible and the service was nonexistent. I was optimistic when someone came by our table to ask if anyone had taken our son orders yet less than 5 minutes after we were seated. Sadly, that was the last indication that anyone cared about our dining experience. The server who took our order didn't write anything down and came back to confirm our order a couple of minutes later. Despite that, things still came out wrong. We were served 3 appetizers but no plates. Since our server was nowhere to be found, I flagged down another person to ask for them. She never came back either. Long after finishing out drinks and making loud "I'm out of liquids" noises, I stood up and tried to make contact with anyone in a vain attempt to get refills. After our server finally came by (about 10 minutes after someone else brought it entrées) and we told him we felt completely neglected, we still had to beg for the check. As for the food... The burgers were decent but all of the food was problematic. The biggest issue was with anything "Greek". The stuffed grape leaves were served hot, which can be delicious but not when the rice is so overcooked that it has turned into a gluey mush. The baba ghanoush was basically just a bowl of tahini. But the biggest offense was the lamb burger. The lamb itself was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The problem was the condiments. It was supposed to come with tzatziki but what I got tasted like mayo with a little dill mixed in without a hint of cucumber. The feta cheese was so dry and tasteless I assume it was that precrumbled garbage. Not a big deal at a burger joint but inexcusable at a restaurant that claims to serve Greek food. The server did remove the inedible food from the check without hesitation but since decent burgers are easy enough to find, there's no reason to go back to Olive on Main. read more

Ordered on 05/01/17 Kifta Kebob Wrap, Calamari, Falafel, Gyro Pita Wrap and Salmon entree with spinach and caesar salad. The lunch came up to $48.76 and was delicious. I would order the salmon again. I did make sure to tell them not to over cook the salmon after reading a previous review prior to ordering. The calimari was average. It tasted and looked frozen and not fresh. read more

The food at olive on main is better than most Mediterranean styled restaurants. The food selections are slightly limited in scope and flavor. I'm more used to bursting flavors when biting into them. Now don't get me wrong it is quite tasty in its own right but there could be more pop in the seasonings. The service is dialed in, we had our drinks and orders taken in a very reasonable amount of time. There was absolutely no feelings of being rushed to make choices, the staff is well versed in the food choices and various beers on tap. At no time did we feel that we were being upsold on anything. The ambiance is rather sterile and overall takes away from the total experience. Personally, I like to feel as if I'm enjoying dinner and drinks in that area of the world. Love this intimate yet casual restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We grabbed a table right by the window. There is a bar and outdoor patio as well. I ordered the lamb which was superb. It came with rice, pita bread bites and salad. The appetizer sampler was excellent. It was a nice spread of olives, grape leaves, hummus and pita bread. There's a nice drink selection however we just ordered water. I highly recommend coming to this restaurant. Stop by for a quick lunch on a Saturday afternoon, the place was a bit busy which meant the food was good? I think lol.. I decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was attentive, within 5 mins of me sitting he brought me water and the menu. The menu looked good with many healthy choices and since I am trying to watch what I eat I just ordered the shrimp kebob skewers. I must say that I loved the shrimp, well seasoned and the shrimp were cooked to perfection, they were not chewy nor undercooked. The food was good and the restaurant was clean. The server was just ok, not real friendly or attentive. The crab cake was not lump crab meat and contained fillers, we asked the server prior to ordering, and she assured us it was all lump meat. A 21% service charge was added to the bill, we had a party of 3. We ended up paying the 21% service charge plus a 20% tip on a $80 bill. We weren't informed of the additional charges prior to receiving the bill. I thought this percentage of service charge was ridiculous. I kept the itemized receipt, and rechecked it the next day to make sure that I read the correct service charge. The patrons should not be paying your servers wages. Again, We were a party of 3 and did not order any alcohol or wine, no uncorking fees and not a large party to justify additional charges! read more

It was a nice quaint restaurant with great food! I got the falafel wrap with fries and we tried the hummus with pita! It was a decent portion size for the price too! We had a large party (11 people), and sat for a full hour with nothing more than a glass of water. Our waitress took our drink orders, then disappeared for approximately 45m. We were told there was only one bartender, which I understand will cause a delay, but the water glasses were never refilled once in the hour we were seated. Our drinks were comped for the delay, but more than an hour after being seated, out waitress had not even asked for our food orders. Admittedly, it was a busy night, but there's no excuse for this. This is a quaint restaurant on Main street. Warm, and clean. The prices are reasonable and wait time is 10-20 min. The servers are courteous and the food is at a good price. We ordered appetizers: crab dip, spinach deep, buffalo cauliflower ( was not fond of it, it was pretty bland) sweet potatoes (were okay) but the sweet and spicy shrimps were delicious. I've never actually been inside Olive On Main but I ordered food from them via UberEats more times than I care to admit in 2020. So I feel like I should leave them a review (though under normal circumstances I would wait to be able to go in a mid get the full experience. I've had really positive experiences with Olive On Main. They have never messed up my order. This wins them so many points because so many other places are inconsistent at best. I've had a lot of different things from them (burgers, gyros, flatbreads, salads, etc.) and I've never had any complaints. Whenever I get burgers, they're always cooked the way I requested. (Medium - in case y'all were wondering how I ask for burgers and steaks to be cooked.) They have stuffed burgers btw, which is always a good idea. I am a fan of their hummus. Portion sizes are good. Can't comment on dine in service/atmosphere/presentation. But hopefully one day soon I'll be able to update. Solid 4 star delivery experience(s). read more

Meeting a colleague for dinner, Laurel was halfway between Silver Spring and Columbia and this looked like a great option with a good menu and really, it was the stuffed burger that sold the place. A few beers on tap and a few beers in tins/bottles, so I had a beer. Service was good and attentive. And the beer was discounted for "happy hour" even though I forgot to use the Yelp check-in offer, too! Of course, I had the stuffed burger. Perhaps a little more like medium well than medium, but it was nicely stuffed with my choice of cheese (cheddar!) and I also opted for mushrooms. Very tasty, very messy, very good concept here. Hard to go wrong when you've picked the burger yourself and since the stuffings probably change, I have to imagine that this isn't just sitting around. I'd guess that the patty was assembled to order, which is probably why it tasted so good. Onion rings were big and crispy and sucked up ketchup very nicely. read more

Decent restaurant in old town. I went for happy hour. The staff was very friendly and attentive. This place has an old smell to it, which hopefully they can get rid of. The prices were very reasonable and the drinks were good. I was satisfied with my drinks, however the wings were mediocre. Also please be mindful where you park on the street. They rarely get my order right and items are often missing, which annoys me to no end and yes, I have called to complain and they still get it wrong. What we do love at OMO is their babba ganoush and hummus, which never disappoints, everything else is meh. Extra pita, yes of course - there is none, extra tzatziki - definitely, nope none there, more lettuce tomato and onion in my gyro - no lettuce tomato and onion on my gyro.
