I'm used to getting ravioli from an Italian Superstore that's dotted across Long Island. Good? Yeah maybe but what I grew up with? Nah. I'm in The Bronx and I'm going to stop at Borgatti's Ravioli for our Sunday dinner. Walking into the store, it's very small. There are high glass partitions, no touching just pointing. I see the various pastas and ravioli but I want the big suckas. Small ravioli? C'Mon! I made the best red sauce that I will drown these raviolis in a sea of tomatoes. The small raviolis just can't swim in my pot! The older gentleman behind the counter asks if he can help me. I ask him to open the box and actually show me the larger ravioli. Oh baby, they are large and in charge. Why I walked out with one box still boggles my mind because I should have bought 3. I'm not in the area too often and the extra boxes would have carried me through the winter. I hand over my cash and the gentleman says God Bless to me. I'm not getting blessings on Long Island! When I came home, my wife made the perfect Sunday dinner. Those raviolis came straight from the 70s. Simply perfect. God Bless us, everyone.

An additional item of note, freezers are clearly labeled, pasta is all frozen and there's a good assortment of convenient Italian pre-prepared, pre-packaged pasta+ meat, pasta+veggie filling meals AND more. The Spinach Lasagna (bought for my mom) and Butternut Squash Ravioli (for me) were easily my two top picks. I also picked up Mozzarella Sticks and non-meat Italian red sauce. As an avid seafood lover, I noticed a few seafood-filled pasta which will probably get some other time. I don't think price was bad at all- then again I can't gauge it with anything else. CA$H only- by the way. Even though I didn't make a big buy, by the time I left, I was way past the maybe-I-should-watch-what-I-eat. But I'll enjoy... now.

A beautiful family owned pasta shop in the heart of West Hartfords bustling restaurant lane. I picked up a box of their fresh spaghetti, and spring ravioli; Lemon Ricotta Ravioli and Spinach Ricotta Ravioli. I was greeted by Ana, the owner and we chatted about her new location opening up in Glastonbury, CT. "So we're definitely going to become long time customers there, right?" Right. I've known about More since they opened because some of my Food Blogger friends did content for them when they first opened. I first experienced More's pasta at a pasta collaboration dinner with Fork and Fire. I enjoyed the More Pasta used in that dinner, but I'm not factoring it into this review. I researched More after that dinner and noticed how much area chefs seemed to respect More. My family visited More's WH Center shop on New Year's Eve and purchased the ravioli and Jarred Sage Butter mentioned above. The store is attractive and the pasta is displayed to highlight its appeal. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. I have never been to a Fresh Pasta Shop that has inspired more confidence in their pasta. The owner told me the ravioli would be done when it started floating, and she correctly predicted that would be about 3 minutes. She recommended the jarred Sage Butter, which I've never even seen in area Fresh Pasta Shops. She confirmed my guess that the best way to use the butter is to mix the melted butter with pasta water. The ravioli tasted great and the texture was perfect. The sauce was tasty and a terrific partner for the ravioli. More Italian Pasta Lab has three new big fans. 5 Stars
