Great chilli! Perfect stop! And you get to eat with chickens!

grabbed a bowl of chili that was surprisingly delicious. It was hearty, flavorful, and exactly what I needed after a day of exploring. Friendly service and a great reminder that sometimes the best meals are found in the most unexpected places!

At first I was disappointed due to no restroom privileges were allowed, however I found a decent portable restroom which was acceptable. I was grateful we visited- the prices to me were "normal" for the souvenir supplies. Hubby found a couple of swivels and strong for his fishing expedition. Staff was real friendly-parking was a little tight, but it's to be expected.

we stopped here when we first got to maui, so many fun things to choose from! the lady in the shop was so beyond nice! we ended up getting a pineapple & the small truck next door cuts it for you! it was so hunch better than pineapple in cali ! so if you have time stop to get fresh pineapple!

Nestled in the monkeypod tree tunnel on Hwy 30, it is one of the most recognized shops that have been around but you always pass by. Why? The store is alone in a stretch of the highway where there is nothing and where the traffic is constantly pushing making it hard to slow down and enter. With that said... Homemade Mochi is why we come. The Musubi is decent enough to pick up for the beach. Chilled local drinks in the coolers. Various miscellaneous items you might need or think you need. It looks classic because it is classic. Looks old because it is old. The lady is much more nicer than the grumpy dudes.

Most known for the "red hot dogs" which are less of a Hawaii thing and more Filipino. We didn't get the hotdogs and instead came for a cold drink since the juice stand was on break when we stopped by. It's a very interesting store that's been open since 1932. They have normal convenience store items like rows of cold drinks but also odd items like fishing poles. There is also a small kitchen where they make warm foods like the hotdogs and fresh chicharrones. The spam musubi was sold out when we went in the afternoon but we did get the Bibingka which the kids loved. It's a Filipino mochi with sugar and butter and a nice seared outside. While I struggled to find Li Hing powdered sweets at other places they have a ton of different varieties here. They are "obachan's" branded and very good.

I love this place! They have the best fruit here you can get fresh. We got like 3 papayas to eat for breakfast every morning during our stay in Maui. They have all kinds of goodies from seasonings to pancake mix to candies and touristy trinkets. Its also right next to leodas pies which I hear are also a must try. The people running this general store are so friendly and treat you like family.

I've lived on Maui for most of my life and only just recently stopped by Olowalu General store for the first time. They're located right next to Leoda's and have parking available in the front and to the sides of the store. The store is older and upon walking in it's like stepping back in time, giving up all the mom and pop shop vibes. They have a small but mighty selection of all the general things you would need, including drinks, snacks, snorkels, sun screen, and even some souvenirs for the tourists. I was actually surprised about the variety of items! I bought some drinks to go with my lunch from Leoda's and was quickly on my way. Overall, good quick stop!

Support local always! I love this little mom and pop stop. It has a little bit of everything. A great halfway point on the way to Lahaina or back to Central. There's shave ice, poke bowls, ice cream, and they're known for their local hot dogs too! Must be a Maui thing. You have to get it with all the toppings! My favorite thing there is the fresh chicharron! You have to try it! It's located next to Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop as well as a little farmers market and small butterfly farm. You can't miss it! But be mindful of traffic!

If you see this store front, head on IN!!

Love these guys. To Tude L... Why would you lower the yelp rating based on the road? Take it up with the county. Duh!

Basically a large fruit stand off the road. Fresh off the tree cocunuts, pineapples, sugar cane, plus other Hawaiian fruits. Delicious!

This place smells like urine which makes buying deli foods difficult. This place does have cheap ice.

Over the course of over one-hundred years, the Nagasako family has built up a reputation for being generous and supportive of the community and going out of the way to help others. During the plantation era, they would visit camps, collect orders, and make deliveries; they allowed families to open charge accounts so that those who were struggling could feed their families during tough times; and they donated candy and fruit to the annual Christmas Parade for Santa to pass out. We were trying to eat at 808 grindz but were worried about timing so we went to Nagasako after I scouted inside and saw stuff we could eat for breakfast. I love their T-shirts and went back to buy one after leaving and already feeling like I would be missing out if I left without it. We ended up with a whole grab bag of food we ate out of the back of our SUV rental. Spam Musubis were great and there was a whole pile of them at 8 am. They had fried rice early as well and it came with a Filipino red hot dog that actually paired pretty well with the rice. Lumpias were not too salty and nice and crunchy, came with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. Kids did not like the BBQ pork bun but my wife and I devoured it.

( notes, this is 2 seperate shops) Major hole in the wall, which I LOVE. They were pretty busy, with a line outside, the shop is small so we had to wait to enter. The Okazuya items looked good, after glancing & unsure what to order I went back out to check Yelp real quick and read that the shoyu chicken was good. I went back in and got a plate of shoyu chicken, which comes with 2 piece, side and rice. I paid $1. extra for chow fun. The plate was cheap, $11.00! Since I was bringing the plate back to Oahu, the lady was nice to separate the shoyu chicken sauce. I didn't want it to spill bringing it back. She even saran wrapped it. I didn't get mac salad as wouldn't be good by the time I got back to Oahu, so I got corn and string beans for sides. We tried the chicken and OMG everyone was right. Its was very good and tender along with the sauce. I love putting that shoy sauce on the rice. The chow fun was typical okazuya style and loved it. I miss eating chow fun this way. All in all, I am really glad I made a stop here. The ladies working were very nice. Recommend, Perfect spot for local food when staying in Lahaina area. I am adding this spot to my Maui list, will be back!
