What a sad place. An interesting mix of clientele. Mostly grouchy elderly people and fried up longtime Floridians. We had an omelette & plain eggs with a side of sausage and the bill came out to $26...how? Another plus was the brown water called coffee. My daughter and I got food to go today and it was delicious. I had the gyro platter and although it was early in the day my daughter was able to get the turkey pot pie. They double checked to make sure it was available. The platter was so good, tzatziki was perfect. I'll ask for extra next time because it's my favorite and I could spread it on everything, not just the gyro. We have been regular customers for over 16 years (at least once a week). Recently I walked into the diner using a walker (I broke my hip) and instead of asking what happened the owner ignored me and we actually saw that she looked happy at my injury. This is not an exaggeration. Here's how it built. Prior to the 2016 election I wore several pro-Trump and anti-Hillary tee shirts. Some of the waitresses chatted with me and loved my views. One day I came in and the owner, a bitchy woman named Pattie argued with me over my anti Hillary views. From that day on whenever we came in she pointed to a table and otherwise ignored us. It's a shame because seeing how she treated us I will never step foot in that diner again. Just another casualty of the left not accepting the election results. Personally I don't think she should have engaged a customer with her political views. The food was good, not great but Heather was a great waitress and Pattie's son Alex was great with customers and knew how to balance all points of view. This is a case where the mother should learn from her son. With so many local eateries in the area I won't miss this place. read more

I've been hoping to find a great breakfast spot ever since I moved to Boca Raton, and after trying this place out I can safely say I need to keep looking. This place isn't bad, but I've had better breakfasts and brunches. The atmosphere is definitely a bit cramped, it's not a big place, which I guess could give it a cozy feel. The look has a nice retro diner feel, and the waitress even lets you know to take your elbows off the table once you've sat down. Charming for some, though maybe not for everybody. I also noticed a sign that said if you are rude to the staff they will tack on $10.00 to your tab. I can see why the sign is there, but it struck me as a little cold. The food was sadly nothing to write home about. It was fine, not bad, but everything had something to nit-pick about. I ordered the Alexander the Great Omelet, 3 eggs with bacon, ham, mushrooms, and cheese (I held the onions). It was good except that they used American cheese. Maybe I'm picky, but American cheese is not an Omelet Cheese. Cheddar, Colby-Jack, Swiss, those are cheeses that belong in an Omelet, but American in my eggs was a bad choice in my opinion. The home fries weren't bad, but they were a little too big. I usually like a little girth in my potatoes, but these needed more crispy skin. They were cut too large, and at times it just tasted more like a slightly fried baked potato filling. I ordered an English Muffin as my bread side, but they had way too much butter in them. Sure, butter is tasty, but when it's running down your wrist as you hold it, you start worrying about your arteries. I also tried half of a bagel, and that had too much butter in it also. Hold the butter, not everything needs to be swimming in it! Sadly, there were no completely successful dishes. Everything was flawed in some way, and I won't be going back for Breakfast any time soon. Still, there may be hope in this place, since lunch or dinner could hold possibilities, and sticking true to the retro diner feel, they have a revolving dessert carousel at the front of the place with pies and cakes on display that look quite tasty. Maybe you can find something here to enjoy, but tread carefully when it comes to the most important meal of the day. read more

My wife and I were blown away by the mousaka. No bechamel sauce, but a delicious cinnamon flavor that the sauce usually hides. The Greek side salad was big and came complete with anchovies. We went tonight for dinner because of the location it's within walking distance of our condo. The reviews seemed okay and I love a good gyro so we went hoping for the best. There were three of us and we each got water and a dinner total cost $53. The leg of lamb was not an actual leg of lamb it was slices of leg of lamb and it was mostly fat. The Greek sampler was not good at all the spinach was dry and everything seemed reheated. They used a lot of nutmeg in their seasoning which we were not a fan of. The roasted potatoes seemed like they had a lot of lemon pepper on them so if you like that flavor they were good but if not it was very overpowering. I got a gyro platter and the gyro meat was good. Overall the only thing we liked was the gyro meat and our Greek salads. Our waitress was not attentive and did not have a very good understanding of the menu. They were not busy at all and we still didn't get drink refills without asking. All in all I will not be returning the price was not worth the quality of food. read more

I have been living in S. Fla. for the last ten yrs and have been looking for a decent Greek diner (I love Greek food). With 50 restaurants on every block, it has taken awhile to find the good ones. I finally stopped in about 3mos ago and had the Greek Platter with tzatziki and avgolemono (lemon chicken) soup. In a word.. awesome. This place is a regular stop for me and the family now. The menu is selection crazy.. the stuffed cabbage is the best I've had since living in the tri state area. Everything I've had is home made. I have loved this restaurant for many years, I enjoy going there for breakfast on the weekends and think the food is amazing. Since Jan I have been going in to order the spinach pie to go for lunch, I order it with extra taziki sauce....every Wednesday for 7months and each time they get increasingly rude especially about the extra taziki, i have no problem paying for the extra. Today the manager yelled at me and treated me awful just for ordering the same thing I always do, she was so belligerent and rude that i had to leave the restaurant. I am so disappointed by the treatment I received that I will never go back to this establishment. My wife and I decided to try the the diner for dinner. Service was quick and curious. My wife ordered the open roast beef dinner. Which came with 2 sides. I ordered the beef liver, with 2 sides. When my wife's open roast beef came. It dint look veryappatizing. After my wife took one bite, she called the waitress to take it back.not one person came to the table to question "what was wrong with the meal".when my dinner came.chicken cream soup, was first. Thick to a fault, the corn starch was obvious. After leaving half the soup, my main dish arrived. The owner not only personally greeted me but stopped by my table to see how everything was. She was extremely personable. I never give much thought to reviews when the "reviewer" makes petty, personal comments about an individual. Sometimes other competing business's write horrible reviews.......All I can say is that I would definately give this place a try. We try this diner every once in a while just to see if our past impressions are correct. The food is not bad but the whole wheat toast is ridiculously small and tasteless. I guess they save on how much filling they have to use. $2.00 for added raisins, seriously? Most of all and the main reason we go to Marlee's now is the unfriendly attitude of the owner at the cash register. Has she ever smiled? This is one of the worst local diners in the area. I've eaten at this diner too many times to count and yet their food never improves. Being brought up on diner food in the Northeast, this one is a sad excuse. I came in for a late lunch/early dinner. I can't understand how someone can make a turkey dinner taste so tasteless. The turkey itself was ok....the vegetables were so overcooked. The greek potatoes were saturated in grease. The only positive was the New England Clam Chowder. Plus, I felt the meal was way overpriced for eating lousy food. While paying my check, the owner was not too respectful of her employees which absolutely turned me off. I am it going to criticize their cuisine because no need to be a chef for breakfast diner style or gourmet but as my boyfriend loves the place and being out of town for his birthday ,I asked my son to invite him out to celebrate and of course he wanted to go there. So to avoid any conflict between my son and my boyfriend I decided to call the diner to set up my payment over the phone. Their credit card machine is not set up to take credit card number over the phone.i know what exactly credit cards processing is capable or not and this is not possible.any machine can punch manually a credit card machine.they refused to take my payment over the phone,and I am sure the reason is the fee that the processing takes.whatever it is only few cents.
