Our server seemed checked out. There's a full bar yet we had no menu to know the options. The restaurant is huge but a little different from the Oakland Tenn. Restaurant. Arlington had a full bar. I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea. Never again. Disappointing. Oakland restaurant buffets different. No bar but does have hot peach cobbler and soft serve ice-cream. Arlington buffet serves pizza and pasta more than the Beloved catfish and seafood buffet. We ordered steaks and sides. No bread was offered but other tables had bread basket's on their table. We went on Sunday for the buffet and it was just mediocre. The table was dirty, so we requested for it to be wiped down. The rag that was used must have been for the floor because it smelled like stagnant water. Salad bar was minimal and the hot line was always out of food. One member of our party didn't get his order until everyone else had almost finished eating. Our server not bring another fork after I asked for one as I'd just dropped mine on the floor, did not bring a refill on my beverage as I asked and she didn't get at least two of the checks right. They had a huge salad bar or cold choices and then fried Sysco type dinner foods. But no cooked vegetables. So if you want fried food and sinfully delicious shrimp Alfredo you will love it and if you don't mind loading up on carbs you will love it. The customer leaving verified they were open just not a lot of them working. Went into dining area to let passing server know we were there. Looked to be a bar area to the right and dining to the left. QR menu code on hostess stand did not work. We were only ones in restaurant but more customers did come in eventually. In recent months Olympic in Arlington has done nothing but gotten better and better. Today was a prime example of listening to the public and going for it. They now do breakfasts on the weekend! A breakfast bar that was great! And...on Sundays, they'll even carry over to brunch after 11! Endless mimosas probably start the day out right for several as well! I appreciated the fact that the breakfast bar had the standards, but also a lot more: Scrambled eggs Bacon Sausage links Pancakes French toast sticks Home fries Hash-brown casserole Sausage casserole Biscuits and gravy Fresh fruit Cottage cheese Granola Yogurt And on and on.... Always good to visit the Olympic in Arlington. The best place to sit is the bar and the best thing to order is the Greek Pizza. But honestly, we haven't had a bad meal or bad experience since they opened. If you're passing through on Interstate 40, don't be scared that it's not a national chain. Seafood buffet was below expectations. Fried catfish was not crispy and not easy to chew. Something that looked like they might be frog legs appeared to be dry and overcooked. Nothing on it stood out and not much choice of vegetables on it either. Salad bar was not what it used t be. Soup mostly broth with a little chicken and a few veggies. My guess was banana pudding was jello pudding out of a box with too many vanilla wafers in it. I've had good meals at all Olympic's locations but this was a disappointment.
