a breakfast of eggs, toast and hash browns

Loved the food for a cozy Saturday morning. Better yet, the service was fast, professional, and kind.

The Omelette House is one of those local gems that's hidden within the beautiful city of Savannah, GA. After you're done exploring the tourist attractions, you should definitely come here for breakfast or lunch. My husband and I came here to try something different than Denny's and found this restaurant on Yelp! I ordered the Sausage & Cheese omelette, which consist of sausage and white cheese, grits or hash browns and your selection of toast (i.e., white, wheat, raisin, Rye and English muffin). It was so delicious!! My husband ordered the Big Breakfast, which consist of 3 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, 2 sausages, grits and 2 pancakes. He enjoyed his meal. When we first entered, the service was excellent; however, throughout our meal, our waitress didn't come to the table as often to offer us anything to drink which was a concern to my husband and I. To some people, it's considered minor, but i just thought it was a little rude though. However, it has fast service as well.

Omelette House is a small restaurant located within a shopping plaza. I found it convenient when shopping. The restaurant offers breakfast and lunch. Seating is limited making this spot great for takeout or a quick bite on the the go. Prices are fare, the service was good, food presentation was good and the restaurant is clean. I wanted to give more stars but I was not happy with the taste of the food. Especially the chicken breast.

You like-a the Omelette? They've got lots of that. We stopped in after discovering the "Original Pankake Palace" (Yes, two k's) was no more. In the end it was a great choice. They have a huge select of Omelets, including what I had, the "Seafood Omelet" (Scallops, shrimp, krab, onions, mushrooms and melted cheese) I was very satisfied with the portions as well as the Hash-browns. They kind of get you buy making you upgrade FROM Grits to the Hash Browns, but I wasn't really feeling a "grits" thing so I took the plunge. If you are an omelet fan, stop in and check it out!

Fairly uninviting outside, but good food.

Excited about their specialty, omelettes, I decided to give this place a shot despite the mixed reviewes. The first impression of the outsides need for a makeover continued in the inside. The service was ok and typical for a breakfast spot. The only reason for three stars is the food itself which was, given the location, fairly good tasting and worth a try if you are able to blend out the smell of fried oil and needed makeover of the location -if not, look for a different spot to have your omelette.

Wow, quick fast and friendly was my experience here today at The Omelette house. The food was served fast the Grits were creamy.

Omelette house is fireeeee. It's right beside our school so it's a common stop in after a nice test in the mornings to wear off the steam of studying all night and fuel up for the rest of the day. Each time I've gone in I have not been disappointed! The only thing that takes away from this store is that it doesn't look the best on the inside and it could use some face lifts, but hey that stuff doesn't bother me too much if the foods good. It's great for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! The service here has always been very prompt and friendly and they always get your food out quite speedy! Even tho they get your food out fast I promise they didn't forget to pack it full of flavor! The omelettes definitely live up to their name. If I was to recommend the best omelette in Savannah it would more than likely be this place. Every one I've gotten there has been great but my all time favorite has to be their Philly Cheesesteak Omelette. It's just what you think it would be, packed full of meat and cheese and onions and peppers and man it's got flavor in every bite! So good. Also their Philly cheesesteak sandwich is to die for too! (Yes I love Philly cheesesteaks, sorry) Whatever you're looking for, whether it be brunch or lunch, this place has got you covered!!

The hubby and I got in on a Sunday night without a reservation. Rather than a long wait, we were good with sitting at the bar. Hubby's lemon herb chicken was excellent. I tried it and the roasted semi boneless half chicken was tender and delicious. It was accompanied with garlic fingerling potatoes, charred broccolini in lemon chicken jus. After a long day of travel, I needed good protein so the Collins Burger was a fine choice. It's a double smash, sauce, chopped bacon, and crispy shallots. Cooked well, juicy, and just all around excellent. Had a sip of the hubby's sangria and wow! Probably the best one I've tasted. The vibes here are chic and upscale. We were sitting outside with a little sun, and when she noticed a table had opened up in the shade, she proactively asked if we'd like to move. That small gesture said a lot about the level of customer service. She was friendly, attentive, and incredibly patient helping Alison navigate a dietary restriction. And then came the food! I had the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, and Alison had the quinoa chicken bowl. Everything came out quickly, the presentation was gorgeous, and the flavors were out of this world. We also tried a couple of mocktails and both were fantastic. I came very close to ordering Leo's Big Brekkie because it looks like a protein lover's dream, but I wasn't quite hungry enough to tackle it. Now I already have something picked out for our next visit! Great atmosphere, wonderful service, beautiful food, and an all-around terrific experience. Five stars really isn't enough. They are famous, seen in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. They have memorabilia and historical décor on the walls. But out midday weekday experience was not thrilling. We went for the all-breast-meat Chicken club sandwich. Fresh lettuce. Thick ripe tomato slices. Plenty of crispy tasty bacon. But the chicken was flavorless and on the dry side, with some tough bites that meant careless trimming. How about corned-beef hash eggs-Benedict with grits and a biscuit? The hash was dry. The grits were ok but ordinary. The biscuit was doughy and flavorless. If we were too late for freshly-made hash, they shouldn't have served them. We obviously weren't thrilled Well, they clearly do care enough to reply! I guess we all have off days. Yeah, i'll try them again.

The whole place is designed to feel like the inside of a trailer--spray-painted antique chandeliers, old pictures of different trailer parks, and random little details everywhere. It's kitschy, but very intentional, and honestly pretty cool. We came in late after a 4h drive into town after work, and the staff was still super friendly and accommodating. No "we're about to close" energy, which I appreciated. We started with the creamy collard dip, which is basically their take on spinach-artichoke dip, but with collards. Really good. I do think the chips were a little too heavy for the dip--a thinner chip would've been perfect--but that's a small note. The chicken pancake tacos were probably my favorite. The chicken was fried perfectly and still really moist. And at this point, I'm convinced Savannah just knows how to cook chicken. Everywhere we went, the chicken was consistently good. My partner got the grilled apple pie sandwich, which has fried chicken, grilled apples and bacon. He's not even a big pork person, but that bacon was so crispy and the whole combination just worked. Even the waffle fries were good--crispy, fresh and actually seasoned. We had the Grateful Dead and Wicked Kiwi cocktails, plus a couple of shots, and the drinks were strong, good and reasonably priced. Honestly, I don't have a ton of notes here. It's not trying to be some elevated dining experience. It's just a really good late-night spot with good food, strong drinks, friendly service and a fun atmosphere. We sat inside because Savannah in August was not about to have us sitting on anybody's patio. Definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for somewhere to eat late. It was a vibe, the food was good, and it did exactly what it needed to do.

I ordered the footlong hot dog, and it was one of the most unique hot dogs I've ever had. Instead of serving it on one bun, they split it across two buns with different toppings on each half. One side was topped with sloppy joe, while the other had chili and relish. It was a fun idea that let you enjoy two different flavor combinations in one meal. It also came with a generous portion of crispy waffle fries, which were excellent. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food, and the prices were very reasonable, fitting the casual diner vibe. My only real criticism was the speed of service. There were only three occupied tables when we visited, yet it took about 35 minutes for the first plate to arrive. The last person at our table didn't receive their meal until nearly 45 minutes after we ordered, which seemed unusually slow for how quiet the restaurant was. The other thing worth mentioning is that the menu varies quite a bit between locations. This restaurant's menu is heavily focused on breakfast. While the food itself was good, it would be nice if the menus were more consistent across locations. Having to research which location serves which items takes away from the convenience of a unified brand. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would definitely return for a quick lunch. The food was tasty, reasonably priced, and the creative footlong hot dog alone is worth trying.
