The Chicken Entree with mashed potatoes and green beans
    Lauren M.

My husband and I came here for dinner last night while visiting from Connecticut. We were lucky to be seated as we did not have reservations. I would definitely recommend making reservations in advance as space is limited. We saw several other couples and groups get turned away after us. The service was great. They offered us bread to start, which we gladly accepted, and it set the tone for the rest of the meal. I ordered the chicken dish and my husband got the curry. We both thought our meals were delicious. Overall, the experience was very nice and the perfect vibes for a day trip.

Amazing! Just need a brunch place and saw this on google search while passing through Stockbridge MA. I went and saw a very cute place with nice decors. They have easter brunch menu. I just chose a safe order - scramble egg with salad. It is the yummiest scramble egg i had. It has goat cheese on top and aragula salad. For the coffee, i like it black and taste so good and I love how they serve it. The service is awesome! Everyone is nice and made me feel welcome! I will surely come back in here!

Food and service were beyond reproach. My husband and I shared multiple apps for dinner. We arrived shortly after it opened for dinner. We did not have reservations and sat immediately. Very cozy, clean small space with maybe 25-30 seats and a few tables outside. Everything we ate was delicious and prepared so well. Mismatched older china plates made for cute conversation. Met the owner and shared our great experience. If we weren't headed home I'd be eating there tonight again.

    Pot Pie

I don't give out five stars very often, but some aspects outdid others, and in the end the entire experience was a higher sum of its parts. Let's not fool ourselves. Being in Stockbridge during the holidays puts everything in great light and spirits.] to begin with, so... We were going to see Winter Lights (a phenomenal Christmas light show) and were originally going to plan dinner at The Red Lion Inn, but they were booked a couple months in advance. Our second choice was "Once Upon a Table" because we'd heard great things about it. It's a small place and every table is carefully booked and planned. The staff was so kind and inviting and friendly from the second we walked in. Super nice people, professional but down to earth in true Stockbridge style. We didn't get the table we wanted but the table they had reserved for us turned out great. I had to trust the process. The food: (stay tuned for the good, bad and ugly) Two of us had the pot pie which was a huge hit! Flaky crust and the inside was filled with ground beef and peas, potatoes, and all that good stuff that makes you think you're not going to finish it, but then you do. The Pasta Fra Diavolo, was outstanding and the reason I ranked this so hi. What happens when you take a spicy saucy Calabrian red pepper Italian dish but then instead of sausage you add andouille sausage, but then basil, garlic and grated Parmesan cheese? You get a dish that insists it's Italian, but has a great and inventive twist. The dish is sticky and impossible to stop eating, and the reason I will be back. I hope they never take it off the menu! (Hint, hint!) The salads were great, but one of them, the Caesar, was way too fishy, and had an entire sardine or anchovy laying on top, and we were both like: "they tried to feed me anchovy and we said no, no, no." I definitely appreciated the effort, but this is an ingredient that should be subtly tasted and never seen. Just too fishy. Everything else was excellent. Our friends loved the wild mushroom polenta dish with fried egg was a huge hit too. We loved our server, he was affable, not annoying and a great listener. Front of house: Amazing! Super friendly and sweet and people who look like they truly care about where they work, and your experience. We walked out on a cloud! Highly recommend!

    Gazpacho soup

Food was amazing! We ordered Gazpacho soup, crab cakes and smoked salmon sandwich. A restaurant is tacked in an alley. Small restaurant with great atmosphere. Server is accommodating with good manner. Highly recommended to reserve the table.

    Mussels

We ate outside in a sweet courtyard and our server Daniel was a delight! The food is served on mismatched vintage China. We had the mussels to start and the sauce was so flavorful! Luckily we had lots of amazing bread to dip in it. I had the shrimp bowl which was spicy with a remade sauce and rice and avocado and salsa. It was tasty but felt like it needed some arugula or one more vegetable. My husband had yummy blackened red snapper on mashed potatoes and green beans. Very nice. Potatoes were just ok. It was a great evening mostly due to the weather and Daniel's friendly service.

Overall 4.5/5 Great food in a cute little town! - Chicken pot pie 4.5/5: this was their special of the day and was absolutely tasty - grilled cheese 4.5/5: grilled cheese tasted delicious sadly it didn't come with a tomato dip like most places but it tasted even better with the chicken pot pie paired together - chicken shwarma 3.5/5: this was their most popular item but I wasn't as impressed with this

    Beef Bolognese

I just ate here with my parents and had an INCREDIBLE experience! The hostess and wait staff were so nice and friendly and our waiter (didn't get his name but he was a man), did great. He was very attentive to us and was attentive to water refills (something i notice and appreciate because I drink a lot of water), as well as funny and charming. The restaurant itself is very small but cozy and the easter decor was adorable. The food was spectacular (I ordered a ceaser salad, bolognese, and the orange sorbert), and my parents enjoyed their rice and curry. After eating and paying our bill, my parents stayed and chatted for a while and the restaurant cleared out. Once we left, we noticed that the restaurant had closed!!! and we appreciated the fact they didn't rush us out, and they let us enjoy our time there. This is definitely a place to stop by if you're in the area

Nice little place for dinner before a show. Reliably good food and service. We try to visit when we are in Stockbridge.

He was assisted by servers who brought food from the kitchen. We had identical meals. The black lentil soup (soup of the day) was very good. We shared a wedge salad lettuce with halved cherry tomatoes, bacon bits and chopped fried onions and it was super. I'm not big on dressing as a whole, but it was quite flavorful. We each had the smash burger. It's two thin patties made from sirloin and ribeye coated with cheddar cheese placed on chopped lettuce and tomato, resting on a fresh roll. It was hot and so juicy and delicious. The only drawback for the entire meal was that the fries were over cooked. For dessert my wife had the apple pie with ice cream, I had the brown sugar cake with coffee ice cream. Both simple, yet scrumptious. Overall a delicious meal, it seemed expensive, but we had wine. FYI, we saw others being served the fish and chips (Cod) and it looked great.

Lenox has some really cool spots and Ombra is one of them. Recommended by a local, we stopped here on Valentine's Day after our dinner for a nice glass of wine. The place was crowded but luckily a few people were leaving so we scored some seats at the bar. I ordered a glass of Nebbiolo from Italy which was good. My husband had a beer. The place is so cute and very romantic with dim lights, a great wine selection and their food looked so good. Unfortunately, we were so full that we did not end up ordering anything. Although, the french fries were calling my name. Ombra is a place that I could see us coming to almost every week and not getting tired of it. We met a local who is very nice and told us how Ombra is very popular. I think we will have to come back in the spring/summer to get those french fries :) If you are ever in Lenox definitely make your way to Ombra for a nice glass of wine or try a cocktail. This is the perfect date night spot for sure whether you start or end your evening here, you will be happy! Cheers~

Five stars, hands down. ***** The exterior is a pop of color in the small town of West Stockbridge and it is conveniently located near the I-90, Tanglewood, and all things Berkshires. Check out the original artwork on the walls and relax as you are transported to another place. What makes this restaurant so special is the authenticity of the food. All the recipes are from the original Florence location, perfected over many years by the owners. If you are a meat-eater then you'll be delighted by any of the filets. I enjoyed both the blueberry filet and the green peppercorn filet (strategically ordering both with a friend and then switching plates once halfway through!). The port wine sauce chicken is also quite tasty. The restaurant offers several "samplers" (salad, steak, pasta, dessert) which makes it easy to try lots of different flavor combinations, textures, and fresh ingredients. We did get the pasta sampler, and my favorites were the gnocchi (that day it was served with red pepper sauce - but on my next visit I tried the Gorgonzola sauce, yum) and the bow tie pasta with pumpkin and tiny but delicious morsels of almond crunch. I love greek salad and Acqua Al 2 did not disappoint. Fresh, crisp and refreshing cucumbers & tomatoes with a "to-die-for" feta cheese. I am also a huge fan of tiramisu so while others in our group opted for the dessert sampler, I went all-in on my top choice... iykyk. A good tiramisu can make or break a meal. This one was A+ Our server, Juan, was gracious and attentive. Overall a wonderful experience. Also, I don't drink alcohol, but they do have a full bar and an extensive wine list. We ordered the bread and butter off the menu (only way to get bread) and the butter was individually wrapped in packets labeled Sysco. It was too salty and not good at all. We adore the butter in France and expected better from a boutique French restaurant. We also experienced the owner as being quite argumentative and we experienced his manner as condescending when we made what we thought were two fairly normal requests. Two requests that this restaurant had honored in the past under previous ownership (but we were unaware of the change of ownership). Our experience was that the new owner belittled our requests. One, to cook the oysters (my mother can't medically eat raw oysters but adores them if they can be cooked. And this was a special birthday dinner for her.) And a request for organic wine which we had had at this restaurant before. (Non-organic wine gives her a headache.) We also found the owner quite argumentative and experienced his manner as condescending when we made what we thought were two fairly normal requests. **In response to the restaurant's comments below, the issue was not that he said no; it was the way in which we were spoken to. (My mother actually left the restaurant for a bit to collect herself but chose to come back in for the meal. I wish we had just left.) The waitress was lovely and attentive. She was professional in all of her interactions with us and we were very grateful for her kindness. The eggs mayonnaise was just ok (could have made better ourselves). The ratatouille was quite disappointing, no depth or real flavor- definitely would have been tastier if we had made it ourselves. The branzino was the only highlight of the meal yet they had left a cluster of the green bean stems on the plate... ? On purpose? The night before we had an excellent dinner at Alta in Lenox Center. Don't hesitate to go there! Cafe Triskele used to be consistent and excellent. Unfortunately, our experience this time was very different. ** My comments below were added after the restaurant's response: I have made a few minor edits above to clarify my original review. I would also like to note that the person who posted the restaurant's response below was not present during the interactions described above. And at no point during the evening was an apology offered or did anyone come to our table to acknowledge what had happened or ask if there was anything they could do to address the situation.
