Our A/C stopped working 3 days ago in this heat & humidity! After several calls to OnCourse, one representative gave me the number for their Illinois HVAC service. When Angi answered at 7:30 today (July 4, 2026), she told me a service technician was in my area and I would be next in line for my A/C repair. Rick Staas called an hour later and arrived an hour later. He did such a thorough and expert job!! Fantastic!! My 2- year old A/C is now running great again after Rick found a burnt end on a wire in the outside unit! He thoroughly washed and cleaned the unit, too. Outstanding service!! I have been trying to get in touch with a supervisor named Daniel who has left me 3 messages but fails to provide me a direct number to call him back at. I then call customer service and of course they have no way of getting me in touch with said supervisor. If they are so concerned about the reviews they are receiving online then maybe they should make themselves available for a return call. In my past review they are charging me a full month of billing for only 5 days. When I spoke to the previous supervisor Andrianne she said she was as high as I could go, nobody was above her. I had a rented Water tank agreement with Baystate gas that was transferred to American Home solutions a few years ago. That company name has since changed to Oncourse home solution. The water tank division is American Water resources. Confused yet?? Yes it is very confusing.... I finally reached someone at 1877 4274748... I have called 4 times to this number trying to resolve a buy out for my 10 yr old water tank. I have spoken to different reps: James Diago Nikki and William . I have had 3 on line communications that I can not reply to and 1 letter stating I had to pay 163.30 for a buy out and this had to be done before 2/5/26 there for I called on 2/2/26 and spoke with william to make sure this is on the up and up. He knew nothing about this letter. Again the same run around. I had to wait several times on the phone while he spoke to the leasing dept { I was not permitted to speak with them directly} . William told me he had to the approval for me to have a buy out from a supervisor then after having to wait on the telephone line 10 minutes William states I would be hearing from someone from the Leasing dept in 4-12 hrs. Please for your mental health stay far away from this company. I've paid premiums for over a decade through Consumer's Energy in Michigan and finally had an issue with a washing machine and filed a claim. The initial technician that was sent out indicated that they would order a part and come back in a couple of days for a repair. Oncourse denied the claim indicating the unit was not repairable - after the technician THEY sent out said it could be repaired. They sent out a second tech and the then denied the claim. Their "solution" was upgrading me to a "better" plan for $69.99/mo. so they could send me a small check to assist with a replacement. Save your money - you are better off self-insuring because their premiums will result in far more expense than replacing yourself. read more

If I could give Oncourse zero stars I would. The Oncourse website times out every time I attempt to log into my account, so I can't file a claim. And getting a live agent on the phone to actually manage my problem is a fruitless task. I have been in a holding loop of recorded message advising me to file the claim online for about 90 minutes today. Due to not being heard and not being able to so much as log in, I can't cancel my service contract, get paid out for claims, or even speak to a human being. This is the 3rd incident I have had with Oncourse, I called them 2 days ago with a furnance issue. They told me someone would call me at my house between 8am and noon to fix my furnace. No Call-No show. I called them and they attempted to tell me that I needed an appointment, but I already had an email with the infor on it. Then they told me that someone would be over before 5pm. Pivotal Home Solutions, Now I get a message from their corporate office. Which I've been trying to talk to them since I've started having these problems. I have not thrown away the first contract that I got with them nor the last one I got with them. When it was called Nicor home solution, I didn't have all these problems change your contract, Add this to the contract, add that to the contract. It was one big complete home solution contract that covered the top of my house to the crawl space. Every appliance, hot water tank, the central heat and air, washer and dryer, the plumbing, the sewer rodding and cleaning, electrical contractors, the garage door opener, outside plumbing line, the outside water line to the garden hose. I told so many people about this service and got them to join in as well. And get the service now I'm going to reverse that. Those same people need to know that they're gonna be deceived if they have deceived me. Those same people need to read their contract and go over it again and again. The last person I referred to them. It took them 2 months to get it correct, and get her covered. I set there with her and got it activated 2 months later in June of 2023. They still didn't have it corrected. I kept asking for a supervisor and I kept getting the same person stating he was the supervisor but he didn't speak English well. He couldn't understand what we were saying to him. He Couldn't spell, but he said that the was the supervisor. If I could give them a zero I would On July 26th a pivotal solutions technician came out to service my AC. She told me it needed to be turned off to unthaw and that they would need to come back so she rescheduled me for Friday, July 28th. I took off work on the 28th for this appointment and no one showed up. When I called pivotal, they had no record of the reschedule and told me I would have to reschedule for another day the following week, Tuesday which I declined due to having to work. I took off Friday already and no one showed up and I don't get paid if I don't work. Now you're asking me to take off again with the possibility of the same thing happening. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for 20 minutes only to be told she was unavailable. So I hung up and called back and got another young lady who told me the same thing about nothing being in the system for Friday. She tried to get me rescheduled and told me that since it was an emergency she would put me on the schedule for Saturday, July 29th between 1 and 5. She sent me a confirmation email (below) for July 29th between 1 and 5 but told me there was no guarantee they would make it out. I asked her if the technician would call if they couldn't make it and she said they are supposed to but sometimes they may call after to reschedule. Why is that ok to have customers waiting if you not coming? So today while waiting for the technician, I called to confirm they were coming and the person who answered the phone, Omar had no record that I was on the schedule for Saturday, July 29th or that I had spoken to anyway Friday, July 28th, even though I have a confirmation email from them. Want to give an update to my 6/29/2023 post about Pivotal Home Solutions. A NICOR-recommended company that I've been paying for multiple years. I still haven't talked with a Manager. However, I did get a hold of one rep and they said they would cover the other Plumber that came out. I was going to remove my post but then today 07/05 I get a call from a representative who now tells me my Emergency Plumbing issue would not have been covered under their warranty. WTH? If I'm paying for Plumbing insurance and my Toilet is over flowing due to back up from pipes it better be covered. Taking this up with BBB now. Un happy customer. Still not talked to a manager. 6/29/2023 The toilet flooded at 4 PM on Wed, called Pivatol a little after 5 and they told me they couldn't help and to call back the next day. Then the guy hung up on me. Called back asking to talk to Manager and they didn't put one on. Told me they could get someone out Friday sometime. Told them that was crazy since I can't use my toilets, showers or sinks in the house. While on 40-plus minutes of HOLD, I called another local plumber and they said they would be at my house in an hour. Still, on hold, I got texts from the other company and was told they were on the way. I expected the same services from Pivotal paying monthly fees for years and not using it. I am looking at other companies now that would show me more respect and a faster turnaround when things are broken. My mom received this bill, and I initially thought it was a scam (though the company may as well be classified as scammers based on these reviews) because: 1. The only time we serviced services from Nicor was in 2016 2. The bill is ALWAYS paid in full and on time from Nicor's end 3. Even though the bill doesn't really have typos, you'll see a couple of double spaces, which to me always looks fishy. Upon reading some of these reviews, I saw that the $5.95 probably comes from inefficiencies within the Nicor accounts payable / billing department. Needless to say, I will not be paying the $5.95 and injecting money (no matter how trivial) into such a dishonest company. Pivotal Home Solutions (American Home Solutions) ran a hot water heater rental in my residence. Recently, catastrophe struck when the heater sprung a heavy leak and began spewing water all over the basement. Only, upon reaching out to them desperately for help, did it become painfully apparent what a horrible business I was dealing with. In the lead up to this, the company never came out to inspect the heater or do any sort of maintenance work over the course of the multiple years we used them. Regular inspection, drainage, and routine maintenance are necessary to keeping a water heater in good condition, and we naively expected them to be doing the diligence needed to be a responsible renter. However, the contract stipulates as well that any non-authorized maintenance work would nullify the agreement and would hold the lessee responsible. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. In retrospect, it was a concerning harbinger of what was to come. On a Friday night, we heard this "TSSSSHHH" sound and upon going to investigate the source of the sound, discovered a rapidly growing puddle of brown/rusty water emanating from its footprint, making its way across the floor to soon damage everything nearby. We immediately called Pivotal Home Solutions to describe the emergency. Given that their service line was open 24/7, we expected SOME degree of help in the timeframe of TWENTY-FOUR-SEVEN. What actually WAS 24/7 was an automated phone system that made me hold until finally speaking to a dismissive agent that nearly seemed humored by the magnitude of the situation, and the desperation on the other end of the phone. We were summarily told that we were out of luck until business hours. So don't be fooled by "24/7". That's just the timeframe during which someone will be available to tell you that you are out of luck until 8-5 business hours. Despite describing how serious the problem was, there was no attempt made to even TRY to mitigate the disaster that was happening in real time. Instead, they would be requesting a third-party contractor take care of the problem... but only MONDAY at the earliest. To say the least, it was infuriating and depressing to come to realize that there would inevitably be sixty-plus hours of damage to things stored in the vicinity. Apparently, we made the mistake of not being cynical enough to realize we were only just renting a ticking time-bomb that happened to also heat water. Combing back over the fine print, there it was. Language that allowed them to simply wipe their hands clean of any liability. So not only did we have to wait until Monday morning at the earliest for one of THEIR authorized third-party contractors (lest we be charged some additional penalty) to stop their aquatic shrapnel from tearing through our belongings in gut-wrenchingly slow motion, we had to stomach the fact that their convenient legalese absolved them from any responsibility in the matter. In other words, we had to suck it up and just deal with it. On top of that, you're confronted with the realization that you could have BOUGHT a hot water heater that has a TWELVE YEAR warranty for LESS than the price of renting one of theirs for a SINGLE YEAR. Take this review as a warning if you are considering renting a water heater, because literally any other company would be better. Unfortunately, the lowest a business can be rated is one star, corresponding to "Not Good". Well, that would be a FAR too generous description of an experience that could be only described "Traumatically Terrible" at best. ZERO stars. Certainly below, a representative of their business will magically reply to my review, concerned, and asking for more details. "Please just give us a call directly". IT IS A SHAM. AN ACT. They do NOT care about customer service, and replying to these reviews are infuriatingly shallow attempts at seeming like they do. It adds insult to injury. Today I received a phone call from Pivotal Home Solutions. The representative called to reschedule a prior rescheduled appointment made for Saturday, July 29. According to the representative, Pivotal Home Solutions does not have Saturday appointments! I made my first appointment with Pivotal on May 27 for a maintenance check on my air conditioner. After waiting all morning for service on May 27, I called, canceled, and rescheduled for Friday, June 9. When I called to confirm the appointment on June 8, a representative told me that she didn't have a makeup appointment for me, even though I spoke with them for 11 minutes on 5/27, according to my cell phone records. If I failed to make a makeup appointment, what was I talking to Pivotal about for 11 minutes?! I now have to wait until August 2 for a maintenance check on my air conditioner because Pivotal scheduled me for July 29, a day they don't see clients! I plan to keep my appointment on August 2. However, I will seek a reliable and more professional company to partner with. read more

I signed up for a power surge warranty ($10,000) since March of 2022. i had a power surge that wiped out some appliances and other electronic devices. I filed a claim with Oncourse Home Solutions, and they told me that I had to get my own electrician or qualified professional to come and validate the claim with the equipment/appliances that were faulty. It took me a couple of weeks to do this as well as I was required to pay for all the replacements. I submitted all the paperwork into Oncourse and on August 8, 2024. They told me at first it would take 4-6 weeks from the day I submitted the claim. On September 25th, I receive an email stating they needed the electrician's contact number in which I responded to them shortly with the phone number by email. I called on October 1st to learn that not only was my case denied but it was closed. They had closed my case on September 30th. I have tried several times to contact the claims department but they have no phone number and the only way you can reach them is by email. Even their front representatives cannot contact them through phone. This is terrible service and I have done everything they have asked of me. I feel this company is a hoax and beware!!! I have tried to speak to a supervisor, and they state there is no supervisor on site. I was told if I cancel my service now that I would negate my claim which I don't understand if I have paid for this service when my power surge went out, why would this not be covered from that coverage period. Again I feel this company is a hoax because all they want to do is sell you a plan and when you have a claim, they wait a long period of time to respond and then give you the run around while you are still paying for a plan. We received a letter in the mail on June 29, 2022 from Pivotal Home Solutions. We've never heard of this company and never signed up for their services. The account number on the letter is 2064672. After speaking to them, we were shocked to discover that this company has been adding a charge to our Nicor gas bill since 2016 despite never authorizing this. Pivotal Hope Solutions has been billing us for three years at $15.95 per month. It was for an annual inspection of our furnace and air conditioning. Funny part about this- we never contracted them to do any of this. We never even heard of them. They responded that they had contacted us on email and when I asked what it was-they gave us a totally wrong email. Today we asked for a refund of this or to pay for the three last years of service calls. They said they cannot do it. We were on the phone for over an hour and they refused to give names of who we spoke with and they refused to put us through with management because 'no one is available and they can't give out names'. This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever had to deal with. We are senior citizens and cannot afford to take this loss. read more
