Updating to 5 stars. They've improved a lot since opening. The wings have gotten a lot better, especially that sriracha honey garlic sauce. Yum! Some of the prices are weird, to the point where I almost thing it's a better value to order a personal pie. That may just be wrong anecdotal info though. I ordered a basic mozzarella pie as this is the standard I measure all pies by. It was excellent, as good as any in New Haven...but then again there are a number of pizza spots just as good. I'll amend that last one based on the second data point. Picked up a Margherita pizza to-go tonight. Asked for Xtra mozz, which I was charged ~$3 for. Showed up exactly on time. Consistently awesome pizza. The Scamp (shrimp) and the Brussels (brussel, bacon, balsamic) are highly recommended. If you sit down there to eat, the check is not brought to you and you'll need to go to the register to pay. read more

Lost power after a storm and had to stay in an unfamiliar town. Checked yelp n found this place who had a really fun menu. Ordered a couple of pizzas n they were great! Person who took order was very polite and genuinely kind. Delivery was to a hotel and delivery person was very professional and caring. To be fair, this place doesn't claim to accommodate vegans, but at this point, with us vegans becoming more and more prevalent, it is wise to have some options. The place has several vegetarian options - veggies pizzas, salads, and 3 sandwiches. For a vegan, the only real option is to get one of those 3 and ask them to hold the cheese, which really just leads to a little bit of greens on bread, which is what I had. Honestly, I don't mind sauteed greens on tasty bread, but is that a lunch? Seriously, I'm asking. It was delicious, but this is coming from a woman who ate ketchup on bread growing up by choice, so perhaps my judgement is skewed. I would love for this joint to have options specifically for vegans in the future. If you are in the area and need a vegan lunch, it's best to go elsewhere. read more

A bad first impression... I ordered online (which was super easy and convenient off of their website). I paid, as well. I got an email confirmation and was told to wait for a second email, confirming pick-up time. I waited 15 minutes. I became a bit worried that the order (including my payment) had been lost, as most pizza places only take 15 minutes to MAKE the pizza. And this is no competitor notoriety-wise to the nearby joints. So, I called. Someone answered and told me they'd put me on hold but hung up on me. No problem. I've accidentally done that to people too. I called back. I called again. This time I was put on hold right away. Then hung up on. Hm, okay. At that point it's a bit much. I called a third time. They disconnected their phone. This was no longer an accident, and that's the problem. I'd paid already. No email. No one willing to speak to me. I got the email about 15 minutes out and was told to expect a half an hour wait. I recognize that this is from the bitterness of being so deliberately ignored, but Uber Eats could've been faster or at least on par with that estimation. (Thirty minutes pass) I go to pick up my food. I can't immediately tell who is working the front desk. The worker emerges and is abrasive--surprisingly so, but I guess I should have guessed based on the DISCONNECTING of the phone. I wait 10 minutes before they *start* making my food. The pizza was like a soft bread. Not at all what typical New Haven pizza is like. It was stingy with the toppings. Fine overall, but no stand out (and that's without the customer service). I don't know that I'd return to give this place another try. read more

Absolutely delicious. I got the basic Margherita pizza. Best sauce I've had in memory ... mysteriously delicious. Nice crispy wood fired crust. Sparing use of fresh mozzarella--the sauce is the star. And so very good. I got in a bit after lunch, friendly heartfelt attention from the owner (?) who clearly loves what he makes and is full of well-deserved pride. Really really great! read more

Came to Connecticut looking for some good new haven style pizza. My husband raved about how we had to go try some, so we decided on one six three. Thank god we did! So good! We actually came two days in a row it was that tasty. The first day we started off with hush puppies and the candy bacon. Then we each got a personal pizza-mashed potatoes, Hannibal, the king and the Memphis. I have to say get the mashed potatoes pizza, it's unlike anything I've ever tasted. Well worth it! My husband and cousin loved the king (basically peanut butter and jelly pizza). Second day we came I brought my family. (They are hard to please they are from NY and take pizza seriously). We got wings Siracha honey garlic wings and hush puppies to start off. They were that good we got them again. Then for our meals-Cubano sandwich, A&A chicken cutlet sandwich, the blue pizza, chicken and waffles, A&A special pizza. Everything was amazing! My mom didn't want to share her chicken and waffles......The Cuban sandwhich was filled with meat and one of the best I've had (from south florida). I know my Cuban sandwiches. Then to finish off the fried Oreos. Ughhh soft little pillows! Overall this place is amazing, they have lots of different things to try and experiment with. i was reaaaaaally skeptical when this place first was opening up. there seems to be a handful of new pizza places in a city that takes it probably more seriously than we should. that, coupled with a bunch of good restaurants in very close walking distance... so i was like, man, they better bring their A game. they did! we've been here once & had delivery once. service was very friendly! & prompt both times. they have a byob option, so it was a nice walk to dinner & relaxing night outside. the meatball appetizer was great, caesar salad was very fresh & the homemade croutons tasty. the pizza is delicious, crust perfectly crispy & chewy at the same time, & lots of options. the only thing i might do in the future is err on ordering a more vegetable-heavy pizza, making my own up, because the two specialty pies we got were a little light on the green things that were fundamental to why we ordered them (but honestly this is my own mental tick as the greens help soothe my ever so slight guilt over pizza for dinner) but they still tasted great, so keep it up! welcome to the neighborhood! read more

The atmosphere is amazing, and the staff is fun and attentive. You can tell they truly love their work. Ive tried their Mashed Potato Pie (creamy mashed potatoes with bacon and scallions, so hearty and tasty), the Bleu (Buffalo Chicken with Bleu Cheese, just the right zing to it) and the Memphis (My personal favorite, a homemade BBQ sauce pie with freshly cooked pulled pork or pulled chicken topped with blueberries - a great and unique addition to the pie) and loved every one! After taking the family to IT (Jordan Furniture's indoor ropes course), we wanted something different than Pepe's. We almost passed up this gem, because we nearly missed its small size, while looking for parking. But it's a very cool space, with a nice, clean, newish vibe. Our waitress welcomed us and gave us all the info we needed and kept the water bottle filled. We ordered wings with grandma's BBQ sauce. Amazing! We actually cleaned every bit of sauce out of the dish (using forks and fingers). They need to bottle this perfect sauce! We ordered the Bleu pizza ( buffalo chicken) and the A and A (named for Andrew and Alexa- the engaged owners-their fav pie). We enjoyed the restaurant's decor and the view of the beautiful wood-fired oven, that was cooking our pizza. Then, were delivered to our wood slab tabletop, 2 large, lovely pizzas. We couldn't stop eating. Our family has actually never been this silent at a meal (after my son told us to stop making all of the weird, food appreciating sounds). The crust is the BEST we've ever eaten. It's thin and perfect- not floppy, like Pepe's, but not crispy-hard. Just perfect. Flavors were wonderful. We were so content. Thankful for Yelp! While we were there, a guy came to pick up an order. "How did you make this so fast?", he asked, "It's a meat pizza." "We bake it at 700 degrees", the cook replied. "Oh". Check out this fiery talent. I've been twice now, and both times were amazing. It's a really cozy place, with a counter and one row of tables. The walls are decorated with pieces of wood that people have written messages on. The wood-fired oven is roaring, and if you are sitting in the right place you can feel the heat it throws off. It's amazing what they are able to whip up in that small kitchen. Watching the cooks bustle around, rarely in one another's way, churning out orders, is really a pleasure. And then, of course, the food is incredible and reasonably priced. The goat cheese pizza is delicious, the salads are generously portioned, and they have great specials too. This is one of my favorite spots in New Haven. read more

The area has been lacking in a restaurant. Those without a car are at a loss for going out to eat quickly or during the dead of winter. There's one more expensive Italian place and Archies (which isn't really for food). This place is great for families, couples and friends looking for a casual, great night out. Delicious pizza. Everyone knows me as a pizza snob. I am very picky when it comes to pizza. This is the best pizza in all of new haven county. I travel from Wallingford to New Haven just to get it. I recently provided a few larges for a get together with family and everyone was asking where it was from, it was the best pizza they'd had. My family is from Italy and I spent a lot of time growing up in Naples, Italy. This pizza reminds me so much of the Napoli style pizza. And I love that they have personal sizes. My husband and I will get multiple personal sizes to share different toppings. This pizza is so light, the crust so thin and perfect. The right amount of toppings and cheese - this pizza is never saturated or toppings never dripping off. It's perfect. I love the small size of the restaurants. It's so unique. The sauce and meatballs are also another favorite of mine. Love it! read more

This place is awesome. We ordered for the first time and started off conservative with a Large Pepperoni. The pizza was great, the sauce was delicious. You can tell it was made with fresh ingredients. My daughter ordered the Pollo Breeze which was really good as well. The thing that set our order over the top was the Fried Cheese Curds. Fried cheese, come on......It was superbly delicious as was the dipping sauce it came with. They were a bit addicting. The staff was friendly and the service was on point. I love One 6 Three! It's close to both my work and my home and they have a great variety of not only pizza, but sandwiches, salads, and apps too. Service is always great, even when the place is packed and I always receive a friendly greeting. I love that they've set up a place for people to hitch their dogs (and water bowls for the dogs to drink out of) and a cute little herb garden out front. Finally, New Haven pizza I can get behind! I have lived in New Haven for several years and have found most of the pizza here to be overrated - too salty, too burnt, too crispy for my liking. I figured that New Haven-style just wasn't for me. Then, One 6 Three opened up just a few blocks away, and I realized all was not lost! Finally, seafood pizzas with fresh but not too fishy seafood and a thin crust that has just enough fluffiness to make me happy. They also serve delicious fries with yummy sauces. I haven't even tried the meat pizzas or poutine yet, but based on what I've tried so far, I bet those will be delicious too!
