Our first visit and will definitely be back. Restaurant is very nicely decorated, nice atmosphere with some soft music in the background. The food was excellent. We started with the fritters appetizer. Great taste of crab with a light horseradish aoili. We were a table of four, father in law had the Duck special, mother in law the shrimp and crab cakes, wife had the lamb ossobuco, and I had the salmon. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dinners, absolutely no complaints. We shared the chocolate mousse cake because we were all pretty full by that point. The dessert was excellent also. The people working there are friendly and attentive. Our server was wonderful. If you're looking for a night out in Old Town Fairfax, definitely try One Bar and Grill. I've been here many times and finally taking the time to write a review. there were 3 of us last night eating and had a mix of tapas and ordering from the dinner menu. Everything was delicious - several tapas I had enjoyed before and will keep coming back to have them again. The place never seems too busy but think that will change as others see how good it is. For the price, you get a fair amount of food and a good selection of drinks. To top it off- we had a wonderful server, Katie, who was enthusiastic and kind. It's good to feel like you matter to the serving team when you pick a restaurant. We are glad you are in Fairfax City. we will be back soon. read more

BAD experience at One Bar tonight. we are regular customers and have always liked the food and service but MAJOR fail tonight. Food took forever, one entree was completely wrong, and was delivered as the rest of our group had finished their meals. Promised compensation was a dessert they didn't have and a drink never delivered. We paid a lot of money for a poor experience and will not return nor recommend to others. They are many other restaurants in the area that are way better. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but the inside looks the same as the two other restaurants that used to occupy this space (and I mean exactly, same booths, tables, and even the pictures on the wall). This was our first time trying One Bar & Grill. Restaurant Week was the perfect time to celebrate our friend's birthday. Both the carbonara and salmon dishes were excellent. The chocolate mousse tart was absolutely delicious! Our waitress, Evelyn, did a phenomenal job even though it was her second day on the job. Randomly picked this spot and was very happy I did. Fantastic food and service. My server Diana was very knowledgeable and attentive. Loved her. Flat bread starter was a good beginning. The salmon was simple and delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. Finished off with a lemon cake that was one of the best lemon cakes I've ever had. We've visited this restaurant twice. The food is just okay, but the price point, the service and the cocktails are top notch! Tapas is my favorite dining style because you can share and try different menu items. There are many options and Gabby was fabulous waiting on us and ensured we knew her personal favorites and the popular choices. Will, the bartender is very personable and an even better mixologist. My husband asked for a mango margarita, not on the menu. They didn't have any mangoes but one of the staff mentioned they had one in their bookbag. Steak was near well done despite requesting medium rare. bruschetta appetizer had three crackers and maybe one tomato's worth of bruschetta for $12. never going back. Food is fantastic here. We had lamb osso bucco and crab cakes. Both dishes were perfectly prepared. The Chef is clearly on his A game. This is a place you really need to try. We went there to see if the reviews were right. The service was fantastic. Had the best spinach dip I've ever had. Husband had lamb Osobuco that was very good. I had bronzini and I found it the best. Flavorful and amazing. All in all, I would recommend this to everyone. I feel it should be called One Fine Dining, not One Bar And Grill as it is more fine dining than just bar and grill. Went to ONE Bar for the first time last week and really enjoyed it! Will was our waiter, he is also the bartender, and he did a great job keeping an eye on us and several other tables. He had a great personality and explained a lot from the menu for us. The food was delicious. We had three small plates and three entrees, crab and shrimp sandwich, salmon and natural chicken. We reserved a table tonight ( Valentine's Day). When we arrived, they. Couldn't find our reservation. Fortunately, business didn't start picking up till after 6, and they didn't have a problem seating us. Seems they just opened less than a week so ago. they were short staffed. Only two servers and they were short the bar tender. So, no cocktails that were listed on the drink menu. Both servers were friendly and efficient, but definitely rushing a bit. Not a huge problem. Friendly counts for a lot. Apparently, someone hadn't done the shopping so, no meatballs and the burger wasn't available. A bit of a problem when it's already a limited menu. We would have passed on desert because, our waiter said it was too much trouble to make coffee but, turns out, someone else had made some decent coffee. Good thing because, we agreed the chocolate torte was the highlight of the meal. I had the bronzino which was delicate and mild and tasty. Quite nice. My wife had the lobster ravioli which was tasty but, we didn't find any lobster. The portion sizes were rather small, which we don't really mind but, there weren't any appetizers we were interested in that would help round out the meal. Ergo, the desert was a must. There's plenty of room for improvement here but, I'm really hoping it all comes together. Time will tell read more

Stop by and check out this relatively new bar and grill for great cocktails and wine. Service was fast and attentive and the setting was perfect place to end the evening. My friend and I arrived about 30 mins before closing seeking a nightcap and the owner graciously welcomed us in. The ambiance was warm and welcoming and I noted seating areas which could accommodate large parties and/or smaller parties seeking a more intimate setting. We sat at the bar and shared a wonderful 2020 DAOU Cabernet-Sauvignon and mushroom and bacon appetizers-compliments of the owner . Both were excellent and hinted that a return for a full meal would be worth the effort. I'm looking forward to returning soon. Parking is conveniently located. We were offered a complimentary appetizer, a toast with blue cheese, strawberry jam and a touch of micro greens. The chef really put a nice touch into this simple, yet elegant hospitable appetizer!
