We all know that feeling of discomfort when your car breaks down knowing full well your about to be taken advantage of at a car repair shop. Rest assured you can put those feeling aside at One Call Auto Mechanics. Over the weekend my car had broke down. After researching a repair shop to have my car towed to I come across One Call Auto Mechanics. Like many I'm always hesitant about any car repair shop, it has turned into me thinking " how are they going to screw me over this time?". Based off the the reviews online I decided to give this place a chance. I thought my transmission had went out on my car , so I wanted to be very picky with my choice of repair shop. I figured it was going to cost me close to $2500.00 to fix it and was filling very sick to my stomach about the idea of spending this much on a car repair. When I called in advanced to see if there was availability to have my car looked out ( on a Saturday) the gentleman I spoke to Matt said he would be able to look at and to bring it over. I also asked him if he could give me an idea of what was wrong with my car and a quote. I briefly describe to the problem to him and he politely replied " it wouldn't be professional of him to quote me a price or even tell me what was wrong without looking at it.". With that said I had the car towed to him. Once I arrived I met Matt at the service area where some easy paper work was completed. He was very professional and actually listed to what I was saying when describing what had happed. It was at this point I knew that he wasn't the type that was going to try to squeeze as much money out of me then necessary. Who hasn't experienced going into a repair shop when your asked to describe what happened and the the service man just looks at you without even paying attention to what your saying? I can't say how much I appreciated his attentiveness to me and what I was saying. Rather then stay there I had a ride home to wait for the outcome. Matt advised me that to give me an hour and he would call me with what he found out after looking at my car, if he didn't call me within the hour to call him. After about an hour I called him he still must have been looking at my car because he said he needed about 20 more mins. After that 20 mins was up, he did in fact call me with what he had found. As I prepared myself for the bad news, Matt advised it was just a broken passenger side axle, now I'm not going to lie my knowledge on cars is limited at best. To me this sounded super expensive and a super involved process to fix. Matt provided me with his quote and I must say I was extremely happy with his price. I told him to go ahead and fix it and then asked when the repair would be completed. Again in my past experience with repair shops I expected to hear Matt say sometime like " next week". To my surprise he said he could have it fixed that day. I was in complete shock! Now remember this was on a Saturday afternoon. As promised Matt had fixed my car before they closed. He even showed me the broke part and explained to me what had happen. This was the first time the repair person has ever shown me the broken part on my car that was fix. He didn't suggest any additional things that "needed fixed" which again hasn't ever happened before. He fixed what was broken and that was all. I can't express how happy and appreciative I was of his prompt service, and his professionalism. Matt has earned me as a customer for the rest of my driving days. My check engine light has been on for the last couple of days. I chose One call Auto Mechanic because it was close to my work. The first thing I noticed was the clean customer service space. I then talked to the man at the desk (Matt), he told me he could look at my car right away even though i had not scheduled an appointment. I waited only a short time before he called me back to the desk, he told me that the brakes on my car required the most attention and that I should come back at a later time to get my engine serviced. I agreed, and left my car there for the day. I thought the amount he quoted was high, but after a little researched i realized that the quote was well within the range of typical brake replacement jobs. When I returned Matt told me that he had replace my brakes, and that he had replaced one of my wires (i don't remember the exact wire) that he noticed was damaged. He did this without charging any extra. As a result, I feel more power in my car and a lot safer with my new brakes. I give One Call Auto Mechanic 5 stars because: -Very clean customer service space -They didn't charge me for the diagnostic -Matt was honest about the cost -Matt and his team went above and beyond without charging me extra -Matt obviously care about his customers and his company. Honesty is the best policy in any business. You definitely get that here. I, admittedly, know next to nothing about cars and/or the engineering of them. Matt goes above and beyond when it comes to explaining what is going on, in layman's terms so that I can follow along. He will take me into the garage to show me exactly what it is that he is talking about and how it can/will affect the rest of the vehicle. Unfortunately, my car is getting up there in years and starting to take a crap all over itself. (Side note: I am the second owner, the first having been my Gran, and I have had it in my possession for many a year. To be perfectly honest, I accept blame on not taking the best of care with my car.) Despite that, every time I have been in to One Call the work and service I have received is impeccable. Prices are fair. Work has been done well and in a timely manner. One call has been extremely patient with my circumstances. (Eg - having to wait to have the work done due to financial issues or needing to have the vehicle towed in) In one of many instances, I was having issues with my starter. Matt was point blank about having a similar car that had recalls with the starter. He didn't want me to have to pay to have him fix it since it could potentially be free through my dealership. Lo and behold, Chevy had a recall on my starter. The technicians are knowledgeable and trustworthy. You definitely aren't being swindled out of money on repairs that aren't necessary to correcting the issue. read more

After my usual mechanic bailed at the last second for an exhaust job on my mustang, I began looking online for local shops to do the job. I noticed One Call Auto had a very high rating which is unusual for most auto shops today. I called Matt up and he agreed to do the job the next day. He was very up front in that I was looking at a few hundred dollar install that wasn't a particularly easy one. I still agreed to have him work on it - after just a few minutes of speaking with him I could tell he knew exactly what he was doing. About midday he called me to say he had installed one of the exhaust components (the x pipe) I provided him, but that there were some components on the car that were probably superior then what I had purchased (the car back). He told me to come by and see what I thought because it would save me money if he didn't have to put the rest on. To me this is incredibly professional. He could've just put on the inferior parts and charged me for labor, but he went out of his was to save me money and give me a better system and that's outstanding. Matt is a pleasure to speak with and as mentioned earlier he knows what he's doing with your car. I was given fast, friendly, and outstanding service and I would recommend this shop to anyone in Columbus with a need for an auto shop. I came to Matt for a 2nd opinion on a diagnosis I received from the dealership regarding a check-engine light on my Hyundai. Apart from the warning light that constantly strives for my attention each time I start the car, by all appearances the engine runs perfectly fine with no issues. The computer diagnosis the dealership performed indicated that there was an oil control valve that required replacement but because of a "sludge issue" they also found, they said the necessary cleaning the entire engine would require was cost prohibitive and a better choice would be to just replace the engine entirely (@ $6K). Matt concurred that the dealer's diagnosis could all be true but provided a more pragmatic response. If the engine is running fine, why the necessity of replacing a "bad" engine immediately? He offered a suggestion that performing frequent oil changes may offer a small hope that the issue could resolve itself but there is was no urgency to do anything immediately until noticeable problems develop. His thoughtful advice and willingness to forgo a quick buck will make him my first choice when my car does need mechanical attention. read more

I had a great experience at One Call Auto! The staff was really nice and knowledgeable and the owner was the one who worked on my car and worked with me to find a reasonable cost and solution to fix my car. I can't say that has ever happened to me before anywhere. I think the best thing about this garage was that I was presented with several options, was given the cost of each one of the options, was brought to my car and taught about automotive repair and pointed out to me exactly what was wrong and how to go about fixing my car, and finally I was the one to decided exactly what I wanted done with no surprises. And it was the best deal in Columbus. Matt and his staff run a great garage, wait times are extremely reasonable, and there are some fast food places within 1-2 blocks of walking to grab lunch while waiting. Even the waiting area had free coffee, water, candy bars!!, and desk spaces with power outlets if you want to get work done. Top to bottom a great business and the only one to consider. One call Auto Mechanic should be your first call. was traveling to Columbus for a wedding and meeting up with my two daughters from other parts of the country on a Saturday. One of my daughters that drove to the event experienced bad vibrations in steering wheel on her drive to Columbus. As a dad, I had to address this. With the wedding at 4PM and our arrival at noon, the call we made to Matt at One call proved to be the best call we could have made. Matt got us in, promised to look the car over and call with recommendations - we had to pick other daughter up at airport and had running around to do before the wedding and could not wait while this work was performed - long story short, Matt delivered - diagnosed and made the repairs. I was backing up out of a really tight space the other day and I backed into a pole that chipped my tail lights, a little bit of paint, and messed up my alignment. I started panicking as soon as I saw the damage. What made me more nervous was how much it was going to cost me and potentially working with a mechanic that would try to swindle me or do a crappy job. Neither of those things happened with Matt. The moment I met Matt, I knew he was serious about his job. I went from this nervous wreck on the edge of tears to a calm client who knew her car was in good hands. We've been in Columbus for two years now, and we've been going to this place for about 18 months. Every so often we try another car place, and then we come right back to here. Above all else, One Call Auto is honest and good at what they do. The one time they found a serious issue with our car, we tried a second opinion, which found the same issue and tried to sell us six other fixes on top - no thanks. One Call Auto will tell us outright: here's what we found, this is what it means (in terms of safety / car function), these are our options to fix it, this is what those options will cost. They're very comparable, if not cheaper, than other places around Columbus, plus you actually get quality work for that price. And they don't skimp the small stuff either; we've had crappy oil changes from other places, but One Call Auto has always done top-notch oil changes with everything they say they'll do actually done. I rarely submit a review so take this review with depth. On the advice of my 80+ year young father I took my car to One Call Auto Mechanic to have a frame related diagnosis and fix completed. It was my first time going to One Call as my car is still on the newer side and through anxiety prone repetitiveness, I have sought out the dealership mechanic. With $dollar$ signs piling up over the few years of owning my Outback, I took my fathers advice. One Call is a place my father has gone to for a number of years. He takes his 90's truck and his 2021 Forester to One Call. The mom and pop courtesy, knowledgeable matter of fact education provided along with top notch mechanic work is why my father seeks out the One Call service. I had the best customer service from this place! Would definitely recommend taking your car here! I was on my way to visit my home in Cleveland from Indianapolis when my brakes went out on the highway. It was a Friday around 4 pm and they looked at my car the second I brought it in and showed me exactly what was wrong with it. I needed two of my brake lines replaced. Said there was a 90% chance they wouldn't get it done before they closed but after I told them I wasn't from Columbus and was driving up to Cleveland they made every effort to get me my car back that night! Because of them I made it back home that night and was able to spend time with my dad before he left for a trip the following morning! Can't thank them enough for that! They also showed me some other parts of my car that might be a problem in the future and that I should keep an eye on. read more

Let me first start out by saying that "if you are skeptical of going here don't be." I don't live in Columbus, but my daughter's car, who is attending Otterbein Collage, needed repair. Matt didn't take advantage of me or the situation I was in. I had my car at another shop and they wanted $872.00 to replace the master cylinder and lines to the rear brakes. Matt said he would do it for 20% less if that was what was truly wrong just bring him the car. I brought him the car and Matt said "the master cylinder only needed flushed out and he could do it for $385.00 plus tax. Matt saved me $487.00 and his price included a towing charge. I was very happy with the help I received from Matt. I had a hunch something was up with my brakes, and I had a few other concerns related to the tires. Matt was able to immediately accommodate me, and after looking at my brakes he brought me back to see exactly what was wrong and let me know what he thought needed to be done. I agreed and gave him the go-ahead, and he immediately began to fix the problem. Not only did he address my immediate concern, but plugged a hole in one of my tires free of charge, and advised me to replace the front ones (and even suggested I buy my tires from another location to get the best price instead of insisting on buying his, which were a bit more expensive). As promised! Just moved to the area, and didn't have a chance to take my car to my mechanic before I left my previous residency (Lexington, KY) and before he went on vacation. I looked up local mechanics in the area and most were booked 2 weeks out. I called this mechanic yesterday evening, and they were able to get me in today (3 Jul 19) and pulled my car right in when I arrived. They also had a lot of good reviews. Phenomenal business and the lead man/owner was very nice, direct and honest. All the employees were. My kind of place/people! I brought my car here because of the good reviews and I'm SO glad I did. This shop has been amazing to me and has outstanding prices (and I'm a poor college student so if I'm saying this it must be very cheap). They are very very honest! At one time a part that broke on my car actually had a factory extended warranty on it that I didn't know about and they called the dealership and made sure they would do it for free and let me know - they didn't charge me a dime. Any other mechanic would have just fixed the issues without telling me about the extended warranty and charged me a crazy price. I will recommend EVERYONE I know to this place. My car started making disturbing noises part way through a trip from Detroit to Washington, and I needed a mechanic open on Saturday and not too far out of my way. I'm so happy I found One Call Auto! Matt examined my car and identified the minor issue causing the noise. He confirmed that there were no serious issues with the car and got me on my way in under an hour. This was the worst experience at a car mechanic I have EVER HAD. Where to begin. The guy I spoke to quoted me at a price HUNDREDS of dollars different than what they told me when they got it in the shop. The guy at the shop (the guy who doesn't speak good English) didn't understand my problem and gave me the wrong quote. They quoted me super high so I checked different shops and told them I'd be going elsewhere if they didn't lower the price. He then proceeded to shout at me and told me he wouldn't work on my car at all and I was to pick it up by the end of the day or it would be towed. Matt is by far the best Mechanic I have ever taken a car to. Matt did a fantastic job on my Mazda. I originally brought my car the RICART Mazda and was told that the service needed would cost me 2700.00 dollars. So of course I started researching and based on reviews I called Matt and told him what was going on at the dealership. He ensured me on the phone that he could take care of the issue with a cheaper alternative to the dealership. I had my car towed to his shop and it was fixed and I had it back the next day !
