This dining experience was not one equivalent to feeling like I was at the top of one of the most notable prestigious buildings in the world. It felt like I was in a time-share-selling make-shift restaurant. It started when we made the reservation. We were called the day before to confirm that we were "prepared for the $40 entrance fee". Baffled that we were not told this at the time of the reservation struck an uneasy chord immediately. We were also confused as to why this price wouldn't be lowered for those dining/paying upstairs. Then we got to the building and asked if we could skip the "selling of an iPad tour guide" due to our reservation. This was not easy nor an option. We HAD TO do the time-share'esk tour where they boxed us in a corner to watch a presentation for an iPad tour guide. It was totally uncomfortable to hear "oh don't worry about your reservation you have to watch the presentation". (Selling us on a product as if the $40 to get in wasn't enough). Again you cannot by pass this portion if you simply want to tour after you eat or simply don't want to rent the iPad. We get to the restaurant- people without reservation easily entered. We- who had reservations- were told to wait (even though we were more than on time) but we had to wait for the "most beautiful seat with the best view". We stand there waiting and hear waiters complaining about... no space, other customers, and other staff. Again very make-shift and not the ultimate "you are at the top of the most beautiful tallest epic building in the world! (And you paid $40 to get in)". Then... we were sat..... nothing to write home about as there were seats with undoubtedly better seats with views. Service was a 3/5, food was a 2/5 if comparing value to price. Overall was not a very enjoyable experience so this place certainly needs new management and a menu overhaul. It needs to be better for what it represents in this country. read more

Besides the views being amazing and the organized tour that they give at the observatory , the food was incredible. My husband had lamb and I had salmon; both were perfect. It was our anniversary dinner. He had a cocktail called bay ridge breeze , he enjoyed it. I also appreciated the fact that part of their drink menu has non alcoholic drink options... being pregnant I still got to order a mock tail and it was delicious and garnished so well. One Dine is a place for an experience. The atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking. To be on the 101st floor, overlooking the the entirety of New York City, is nothing short than magnificent. The elegant American-style cuisine really enhanced the occasion. I've read a lot of reviews about the noise level or the fact that the tables are overlooking the City Pulse presentation. In my humble opinion, I truly believe that it encourages the overall vibrancy of the World Trade Center. Different people from different places all coming together to look at the majesty of the city. I enjoyed it. Not to mention, the three presentations we were able to overhear were entertaining and informative. Dining Experience: * Fried Calamari, Appetizer Absolutely delicious. The calamari was light, crispy, and above all, flavorful. The Calabrian Chili Aioli was an awesome addition to add another layer of deliciousness. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough sauce to go around. I'd absolutely eat it again and suggest it if you are a calamari fan. * Market Seafood (Sea Scallops), Entrée The special was four delicate, but wonderfully seared medium-sized sea scallops. So tasty. So very, very tasty. I wished there was more, but upon ordering it, our server did notify me of the portion. I took the chance and did not regret it at all. * Berkshire Pork Chop, Entrée What a masterpiece this elegantly presented pork chop was. Perfectly seared to a medium, resting on a bed of sweet potato purée and some other veggie that accented the dish... This pork chop was beautiful. If there is a "winner" for someone ordering the best dish, hands down, it would be to this one. * Chocolate Creme Brûlée with Strawberries, Dessert Rich, smooth, decadent, with a hint of freshness. This dessert was delightful. I had to fight just a bit more in order to have the last bite. Other than the wonderfully torched sugar top and the creamy, chocolaty custard, pair it with the strawberries and it's heavenly. Business Experience: Our server's name was Frank. He was polite, reserved, but what impressed me the most was that he was very honest. I asked him for suggestions and his knowledge was impeccable. I'm a huge fan of Chef's Specials, and the Market Seafood was just that. It takes a lot to say, "It is delicious, but it is not a huge portion." Frank was delightful with answering our "out-of-town" questions of which buildings were what and what buildings were where. He was integral in our awesome experience at One Dine. I cannot stress enough as to say how beautiful the overall atmosphere was. The design of the restaurant completely complimented the look of the World Trade Center - modern and sleek. I enjoyed the experience but don't expect super high fine dining. Regardless it was clean, the tables were spaced out and I was seated by the window view which was amazing! The staff was friendly and patient while we waited to choose our entree. They got us our wings quickly and they were so delicious. I chose the beyond burger and it was tasty! I'm glad they had a vegan option. It was so nice to eat and look out at the city view. The food was good, service excellent. The rip off is you have to have the ticket to the observatory even if you're there just to dine. The day I went (it was a business lunch), it was a snowy day and they were warning all those with the observatory ticket that they have an option to reschedule their visit because it was zero visibility. We had a reservation and didn't have that option so we still had to pay $38 each before we even got to the seat...which cost more than anything on the menu and probably cost more than the meal itself. We expected it to be like Windows on the World, where restaurant was a stand-alone business. Luckily since no one was going up so elevator ride was super short - I would have been livid if I had to wait through all that too if the day had good visibility and they were letting people up for the observation deck. CHRISTMAS EVE. Keep that in mind. We purchased the full experience ($175/pp) which includes the observation deck tickets. Our reservation was for 6pm, we arrived and were promptly seated. Our waitress Nikki was very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. She was great! We ordered drinks, it took about 30 min to get. It's Christmas Eve, we're not complaining since they are busy. The drinks come, they're fantastic. We place our orders for apps which took an existential amount of time (about an 1 1/2 hrs). We didn't order anything difficult, butternut squash rice balls (tasted great) and the octopus (absolutely do not recommend). So now that the apps are out, you'd think the entrees weren't far behind. We waited. The manager, Rebekah came over to apologize about the wait. I cannot praise this woman enough, she went above and beyond. One Dine should be proud to have her, not many people take pride in their work. Still waiting for the entrees. Rebekah came back around a 2nd time to make sure everything was ok to then find out our entrees still didn't come out! When the food finally came (around 9pm) it was all cold. My mussels were very good but not enough of them for a dinner. The charred broccolini was atrocious, cold and sour. They brought over the jerk king trumpet mushrooms but we never ordered those and they were gross. My husband had the steak which was cold but tasted good. Rebekah ended up comping us our dinner due to the most horrific experience we had. The kitchen is a disaster and makes this restaurant look terrible. One Dine, you need an experienced kitchen staff because on a busy night like Christmas Eve everyone should've been on point, no excuses and they failed, miserably. Understand the reasoning behind, but if you eat there and like the food, you would not want to every time pay that fee Upside- food was better than we first assumed after talking to people around the city and reading previous reviews. We ordered most item from the cheaper menu (did not want to risk our pockets on it being bad), and the steak from the higher menu. -Ordered steak medium rare, was not one of best steaks I've ever had, but was prepared very well. -Hawaiian Pineapple wings I believe they were, cooked greatly and sauce was delicious, couldn't stop eating. -OWO Burger was great, the fries paired with it finished them all. -Pork ribs were little less meaty than I am used to, along with light on the sauce, but our wonderful waiter brought out all the things we needed. Great flavor. -Chicken sandwich was adequate for any dining, and last the Crab Dip was nicely even, not too overwhelming with seafood flavor or too much of other ingredients. Want to give extra thanks to our waiter, her name escapes me, for helping me get my Tea fix. I stopped by here with a friend to grabs a quick drink. The view is unbeatable, very beautiful. The bartenders are skilled and fun to watch. My only downsides were: VERY CROWDED, there are two bars, but it took 20 minutes to find a seat. The drinks were also very over priced. read more

For lunch entrees we ordered the branzino which was cooked well and the fried chicken sandwich which was anemic on the portion of chicken, to say the least. The service was spotty. The view was, as expected, amazing. So would I suggest paying the tourist prices for the subpar food, probably not. Pick up a sandwich at the cafe located just outside the entrance to the restaurant on the dining floor. There is no bang for your buck in the restaurant, at all.
