Since I paid cash, this is probably why this happened with my moving experience with this company. I lived up in a very narrow hill. The truck had trouble getting into my street which is understandable. The 2 movers quoted me $69 per hour. They were fast and efficient with our move but when it was wrapped up and time to pay I was suddenly charged an extra $100 for dealing with getting the truck up and down the hill. They obviously knew once they arrived they were dealing with a move up in a hill so they should have told me it will be an additional $100 before the move started and I signed the contract. They're website says no hidden, added on charges, there will be if you pay in cash. Pay the extra per hour and use a credit card, so if they pull this on you it can be disputed with your credit card company. Lesson learned. read more

I had one of the best experiences with One Shot Movers. From the beginning they handled my questions about normal concerns with movers, ie. trustworthiness, how fast, cost, etc, and lived up to their word . The crew was hardworking and I never felt like I had to stay on top of anything; they moved it all (I helped with a few boxes, but not because they wanted me to. I just wanted to move out of my old place , you know the feeling). Shout out to Josh in the office for being positive and helping me guide my way through the moving process ! I requested a quote online and took them less than an hour to get back to me with a quote. Their quote seemed to be fair for us to go ahead and book them. Ildar and Niko showed up! What a bizarre company. Now reading reviews I see I was charged more per hour two hour minimum as other people have? Anyways. They were like 4 hours late no joke. They were supposed to show up around 12, I called and was told they'd call me back and see where they were at. No call back. I call again and the nice lady said they'd be there closer to 2. Nothing. Waiting around. Call again. Around 4 she tells me their previous address "lied to them" about how much stuff they had (mind you I only have a tiny studio apartments worth of stuff), and they'd be there soon. Finally at 430 they show up. Both of them yelling on the phone the entire time with their Bluetooth in. Show up in an unmarked van, no uniforms like the yelp pictures show. I didn't get finished moving in until like 1 am because they were so late. THEN let's not forget about the fact that if you book through google, someone will call you almost DAILY to give a review on them. I'm not kidding almost every day I had to tell them to stop calling because I didn't have a positive experience and if I wanted to leave a review I'd do it in my own time when I'm ready. DO NOT BOOK! They give you cheap prices and then later they double charge you. It doesn't matter how much staff do you have, they charge you as a 2-3 bedroom. I do not know where to begin from how contradicting and the negligence on this scam of a so called moving company with no hidden fees. We purchased the maximum of 5 vouchers and also received them as gifts and the owner and workers refuse to accept them, only one. Nowhere does it say only one is allowed. They are holding our stuff hostage and thankfully they only have a few of our personal belongings because the majority of our move (furniture) was done with MakeSpace, a reputable and reliable and HONEST moving company. They not only threatened my boyfriend at the sketchy storage unit located in the ghetto and dirtiest neighborhood and threatened to follow him back home if I didn't give my credit card number up. Initially the quote we received is the email attached. The workers calculation is Wrong starting with the fact that 4.15 + 1.50 does not equal 6.45 hours... (he used his fingers to calculate this by the way) .... so not only trying to charge extra hour because the total is actually 5.65...This place is a joke and is threatening to put our stuff into liquidation if we do not pay $1374.87 ignoring the fact that they initially charged my credit card a $50.00 deposit which would be deducted from the total charge. They do not acknowledge any charge nor do they answer any question of what 9% added on is because the last time I checked, TAX was 9.5% and written out. I am in distraught and speechless and do not know who to contact first, the FMCSA, local authorities or the IRS. I will also be emailing yelp to report this business as they will not accept the vouchers being sold. read more

DO NOT BOOK. I booked these guys online 4 days in advance. I had to initiate a confirmation and asked the company to call me back. They did, and I thought I was set. I just was dumb. Yes, I did get a confirmation call from a kind woman saying the movers would call me from 1-2 and they should arrive from 2-3. NO. I was nervous because I hadn't gotten a call around 1:45 , so I called the number given. The man who answered was not only condescending but also very rude. When I said I was nervous about the movers being late and asking where they were, he had a very aggressive attitude. I said that I spoke to a woman who called the night before saying the movers would call an hour before they were to move my furniture. When I told him this he said I was "absolutely incorrect" and that all the phone calls were recorded so he would have to go back and listen. I know it sounds exaggerated but seriously without me even mentioning a manager he insisted that he would call me back after talking to his manager. About an hour passes without a call back so I called back. The guy who answered was so unprofessional; he waited 5 seconds and then just said in a low tone..."hello" not "one shot Movers" or whatever their phrase is. He gave the most bullshit response about not calling me back, and I didnt want to get into it so I hung up. THEN. The movers who showed up (that were scheduled to come at 1/2 SHOWED UP AT 4:20. They were so slow! and at one point I went to take my dog for a walk and they were LITERALLY sitting at the end one the truck on their phones WASTING TIME TO GET MORE MONEY!!!! My furniture was all over the sidewalk (in a relatively unsafe neighborhood) and these two douchebags were just sitting texting. I screamed at them "uh hello!" And they both jumped down from the truck and went to get furniture. Not only were they super slow, but they wasted time on purpose to steal money ($ per hour) and they stole a painting that took me over 35 hrs to create and a bunch of smaller items!!!!! I told them in advance the complexity of the new apartment complex I was moving into and I left a map on the counter of my kitchen showing the exact way to get to the spot. I went before them to make sure the spot was ready. It is a 15 min drive from each location. It took them 2 hours to get from larchmont village to Barham Blvd. I was texting them along the way, giving them my exact location via iPhone and telling them directions. I asked them to please not have this be charged, as I told them it would be hard to find, they were two hours late and it was dark, and I have them a map. They said they wouldn't charge me. They did charge me. They charged me 5 hours, and I am missing a BUNCH of personal belongings, including a painting I MADE MYSELF THAT TOOK ME OVER 35 HRS to make. It was close to a $500 charge. With thenhour they said they would removeZ NOT Only that, but they left behind a lot important items at my old apartment. Thank god I went back today to double check. BOTTOM LINE-- USELESS; THESE GUYS STEAL!!! I can't believe my painting is missing. It took me over 3 months to paint and these crooks stole it. I am so heartbroken. I called and I got voicemail. I have used these guys 4 times in the last 2 years and 3/4 times they were EXCELLENT. I've gotten different movers each time. This most recent time I had Slava and Simon and they were wonderful. They arrived on time, were pleasant, and really hard workers. If you can request them I would. Reason for 4/5 stars. Unfortunately the third time the other movers I had seemed to be purposely moving slower to jack up the cost and they slightly damaged my bed. However One Shot Movers did send someone out to repair it and it looks good. So overall I am happy with the price and service and will continue to use them in the future. read more

It was a last minute move for me. I didn't have time to pack, I work so much & travel for work, I needed all the help I could get. The website was easy to use, I booked my appt and things took off from there. The drivers, Armen & Eugen listened to all my instructions and executed an awesome job. They shoes up with a truck big enough to fit everything and fully stocked with boxes, brooms, shrink wrap. They packed most of my things & they took excellent care of my things. Not to mention, Armen reminded me to pack all important things like jewelry and take it with me before they begin. I felt my trust growing more. Armen would also walk me through how they packed things so I can continue to feel at ease. The delivery was also smooth. And the paper work so easy and quick. This was our second time hiring One Shot Movers. This time we are moving to TX so we hired them to pack our belongings and load our truck instead of transporting. Yury, Paul, and Valentin got our 2 BR+ done in less than 4hours & I while we thought we would surely run out of room in our moving truck they managed to Tetris the whole thing.
