A quick bite while hanging out at the great mall. I like that they have several vegetarian options to choose from. I had never had this kind of food before. Its kinda like sushi which I love but more rice heavy. We got the eggplant one and it was tasty but would have liked more stuffing. It also tastes quite fishy (maybe co of the seaweed). We also got the lemonade which was really good.

I had heard a lot about Onigilly and finally decided to try it since it's inside the mall. It was def worth the visit. Some of the onigiri were decent, some were good, and a few were really great. My favorites were the Spam, spicy shrimp, and spicy tuna ,those were the best in my opinion. We also tried the vegetarian options, which were okay. Other good ones were the ume salmon and snow crab. Overall, it's a nice place with tasty food and definitely worth trying if you're in the area.

To be honest, I'm pretty excited about all the new offerings at Great Mall lately which includes this Onigilly establishment. I first got to try Onigilly way back in the day at San Francisco and then was really excited it opened up in Valley Fair. Now we are blessed with a Great Mall location which is much closer than the other two for me. As it is relatively brand new, the store is bright and clean with pretty seamless ordering on the two kiosks located in the front of the store. The only pet peeve I can see here is that the receipt machine is shared between the two kiosks so you might have to awkwardly walk over the other machine to retrieve it. Food wise, I really think you cannot go wrong. There are various prices and various selections of Onigilly and others if you want. There is always something that will make you happy. I ordered 3 Onigilly's as a quick snack: - 2 Miso Tuna Salad - 1 Teriyaki Chicken It came out hot and I found it to be as delicious as I remembered it from the other two locations.

I was somewhat familliar with Onigilly since I tried it a few times at Westfield? I ordered: Teriyaki Mushroom Tuna Salad Everything was good, I have no complaints whatsoever. If anything, Onigilly is the healthiest food place in all of great mall. In terms of calories and price consumption. If you don't want to spend much money on food, just get one or two rice balls here. Great bargain

I wanted to grab a small snack for dinner, but for some reason I was craving the poke bowls. I really enjoy the varieties of onigiris. Custom poke bowl (5/5): I got the ginger salmon, tuna, and salmon. Not the most amazing, but really good for a onigiri place.

Orders are taken via kiosk and you pick up the onigiris at the right side counter. Employees are nice. Prices are very reasonable, they range from $4-5 for each onigiri depending on whether you opt for a basic onigiri or a deluxe one. They also offer bowls, but I was looking for a small bite so I didn't get the chance to try one. There were so many options it was almost overwhelming but in the end we decided on the Spam Musubi and Snow Crab. The spam onigiri was underwhelming, but the snow crab was good and very flavorful. My main complaint was the rice itself being dry and almost hard. Not my favorite! Overall I kinda regretted going here over choosing something else in the mall to eat. I probably wouldn't return personally, but it's a decent option if you're considering a light, small, healthy bite.

Hopefully this spot is here to stay because there has been a high turnover at this spot the past decade. This place has the perfect snack if you want something quick, fulfilling and doesn't cost an arm and leg. Who doesn't love rice??? So many different onigiris to choose from! I haven't tried them all but so far I've loved every single one I've ordered. You can order yourself on the kiosk which is my favorite thing in the world because I do not like human interaction. The food comes out really fast and everything is made fresh. Not gonna lie, I wish they stuff more toppings inside because it's mostly rice but hey it's mall food so my expectations can't be too high. Of course onigiris are much cheaper at the Japanese supermarket but it's the mall and we are paying premium price for convenience and a good time so I don't mind. It's still a decent price compared to other foods at the mall. Overall, this is a great spot to grab something quick and fulfilling to eat at the mall!

Excited to hear Onigilly has opened up at Great Mall. Came in at Friday for lunch. Their space is large and bright for take out counter service. They are located in between Old Navy and Potato Corner. Close to Jollibee mall entrance. There are two kiosks to self order. Give menu selection. Then you pick up the other when ready. We got the spam, baked salmon, unagi (eel), salmon ponzu poke and snow crab. Loved them all.

Great snack at the mall! The onigiri is delicious and reasonably priced. I like that you can collect points and eventually get a free spam onigiri. I tried the eel and spam onigiri, which was warm, seasoned and filling. I rather get this because it is definitely a healthier snack option at the mall.

I was surprised to see a Onigilly here and had to make a stop. Slightly longer wait than I was hoping but the food was a good snack that hit the spot.

For those on a shoestring budget and not over spend then Onigilly Japanese Kitchen is where is at serving healthy nutritious meals with fresh ingredients generous portions at a such a reasonable price so much so that I can't resist. Came by on a Thursday morning and I was greeted by a young gentleman placing an order is thru two self service service kiosk payable by debit/credit card. I chose one custom bowl with rice and mixed green, teriyaki chicken, soboro ginger beef with all veggies along with a cup of creamy sesame. When its ready for pick up they will called out your number on the printout receipt and I was blown away how large the bowl was with all the fresh veggies, toppings, rice and much more and yes they were very generous. Far cheaper than some of the poke bowls they charge and this is my go to for a healthy rich flavor proteins no fat no high sodium no MSG.

ready within 4-5min after ordering. solid onigiri and on-the-go lunch/snack. this came out around $4.80 (tax), but premium kinds are a bit more. not warm but everything tasted fresh. rice was super packed together and chewy like glutinous rice which i preferred. solid ratio of "meat". the soy marinade was not too salty and very bold. i will come back to try the other onigiris! the best hand roll/onigiri i've tried.

Same quality but Bigger portions and better dashi, for about the same price? Sign me up. My girlfriend and I skated the potato salad appetizer - a delicious DIY experience that let you control the texture of your potato salad (though I feel I overmixed), and two take bowls which were MASSIVE - easily could have shared. The seafood was fresh, the portions generous, and maybe it's because I have a more Americanized palate, but the mixed seafood dashi was richer and paired much better than a mild seafood chazuke. Plus it came with shiso leaves and tempura crunchies so it was really no comparison. Overall this was a delicious meal that left me extremely full, unlike other seafood bowls that leave you just a little too hungry. Given the tastiness of their dashi, I'll def be back to try their udon. Also, as an added bonus, my dogs love the little dashi fish topper on their food they sell separately at the front. Love! --- Sweet: amazing dashi broth, delicious seafood bowls. Rare instance of a dinner living up to the hype Bitter: wish they had mini versions of their more deluxe bowls!!

Our order: - Popcorn Tofu - Chicken Katsudon - Tonkatsu Curry - Miso soup Food review: Popcorn Tofu -- DELICIOUS! The surprise highlight of the meal! The outside was crispy and nicely seasoned. Great fried tofu. (10/10) Chicken Katsudon - Didn't try this myself, my friend ordered and enjoyed, they just wish it came with sauce (so they ordered some on the side and enjoyed it) Keep it mind it comes with egg and is very filling! Tonkatsu Curry - Japanese curry is the perfect comfort food, and this was exactly how Japanese curry should be and exactly what I was craving. Katsu was perfectly crispy on the outside, good ratio. I think the pork could be slightly more moist, but the flavors was good and paired with the curry it was non issue. Very thick piece of pork so I had to take some left over and it stayed crispy the next day after reheating which is always a plus! (9/10) Miso soup -- comes with the sets but a perfect bowl of miso for me, nice way to start the meal. (10/10) Had a great time and a good filling comfort meal, would definitely come back again next time I'm in the area. Just make sure you come hungry!

The restaurant was on the smaller side, so it was packed after we came in around 6. Order: - Chicken Katsu with curry on the side 7/10: there wasn't anything special about the curry, but the savoriness of the sauce went very well with the rice. The katsu was also perfectly crisp which made it very addicting to eat. Ask for the curry on the side if you don't want it mixed with the katsu and rice. - katsudon: this wasn't as flavorful as we wished it could be and the sauces were very light and sweet. Additionally, the katsu was very soggy so 5/10 for the dish. Overall, the crisp on the chicken katsu was the most outstanding part of the dish. The dishes weren't super special, but it was a decent katsu places.

That's how much I will sacrifice to eat wagyu. I love how they have sushi and and appetizers are good but the salmon and sashimi though. The popcorn chicken is more breaded and chicken is dry. I had the pork belly and it was too fatty for my taste so I didn't order it again. Edit: I went today with my friends to try their lunch deal. $25 dollars?! Say less. I got to try the wagyu fried rice and wagyu udon. I love it but I usually stick with the meat. I only ate 1/4 of each carbohydrates bowl. The popcorn chicken once again has too much breaded and the gyoza is below average. Still, the sushi, sashimi, and meat are delicious. The pork belly was not fatty as I remember from my last visit. Our servers and hosts were polite and accommodating. I asked to be seated near the salad bar and tv so I can watch the game. It's a new and clean restaurant.

Then look no further, because Sen Dai knocks down 2 birds with one stone. Good prices, big portions, fast service, they have it all - at the cost of some authenticity and wait times. I came here at 5:15PM on a weekend and the restaurant was already almost full. By the time I left, there was a good amount of people waiting outside, so make sure you come early to avoid the crowd. The plaza is also tiny so parking may be a bit tough. I ordered an extra large Milpitas roll, Lemondrop, and Orgasmic. Food came about 5-10min after we ordered, which was surprisingly quick given the number of takeout orders and customers. The raw fish tastes very fresh, and they do not skimp on the portions! The star of the show was the Milpitas roll, but I feel like you cannot go wrong with most of their sushi roll menu items. This is one of the few establishments that give me pre-Covid vibes - large portions, fair prices, quick service, and decor that's a little outdates but gets the job done. Which is exactly why I will be coming back here for years to come.
