I personally am not a huge fan of deep fried rolls but appreciate them offering this discount. I got the super crunch roll and it indeed was crunchy. We went here to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday, which we have done quite a few times in the past, as it was her go-to sushi spot. We had a great time, but shortly after leaving the restaurant, my wife started experiencing chills and feeling nauseous. Once we arrived home, she was vomiting and sick for the rest of the night and into the next day. My father-in-law experienced the same symptoms but worse; a 911 call was made, and paramedics came out to assist. My brother-in-law also experienced some sickness after dinner. My sister-in-law informed the restaurant of the whole ordeal. Instead of being seen and heard as humans, we were met with resistance and a blanket statement. Management just wants us to prove it to them. We understand that dealing with the public can be tough and that there is a fine line to walk, but at what cost? It cost you a family of loyal customers of over 10 years and we are in disbelief. This review is solely to share our experience. I am writing this to add to Valerie & Melissa C.'s review. I was also part of the party of 11 that celebrated here recently. Sadly, I experienced a bad stomach ache, nausea, sweats, and vomiting following the meal. We have been loyal customers for over 10 years, but as I mentioned in my previous review from 2014, the quality of the food seems to have gone downhill, even though the wait staff is always very pleasant. It is unfortunate that only a credit was offered instead of a full refund. I believe a refund for at least the food items would be the ethical thing to do given the situation; at this point we are not asking for the drinks or service fee to be refunded, as the staff was great. However, a refund for the food that made us ill is the right course of action. My father is currently working on getting the report from the EMTs. Once the EMT report is received and reviewed, I hope they do the right thing and issue a full refund for the inconvenience and to do right by the community. read more

We ended up spending almost two hours at lunch--not because we were enjoying ourselves, but because the food came out incredibly slow. It would've been appreciated if the waitress had let us know there was a delay due to the kitchen being short-staffed. We were a party of seven and ordered two three-item bento boxes, three sushi rolls, and a sashimi plate. The bento boxes arrived in about 20 minutes, and thankfully we were sharing, because the rest of the food took much longer. We had already finished the bento boxes by the time the next items arrived. Two sushi rolls came out about 20 minutes later, followed by the last roll. The sashimi plate didn't show up until over an hour into the meal--by then, we were already full. The service was prompt but the takoyaki did take a while to come out. They most likely forgot to make it because we finished all 4 rolls and were waiting maybe 10 minutes for the takoyaki. There were a good amount of people on a Wednesday night. They don't check in with tables too often, maybe 1-2 times. My family and I celebrated my mom's birthday on Saturday with a party of 11 at a restaurant we've been loyal to for over 10 years. While the food tasted fine and prices were reasonable, about a few hours later, 3 of the 11 family members began experiencing food poisoning symptoms. My dad became so ill that my mom had to call 911. I contacted the restaurant the following day and spoke with the manager. Unfortunately, I was told that without proof of diagnosis, a refund could not be offered only a credit. This was extremely disappointing, as a credit assumes we would want to return to a restaurant where multiple family members became sick. A full refund would have been appropriate given that the meal resulted in illness rather than a safe dining experience. Sharing this so others are aware. read more

It's not your famous 1 hour wait type of sushi restaurant. It's a mom and pop owned and it's a bit hidden. Plaza has lots of parking. The inside is clean with warm lighting and I liked the wooden decor at the sushi bar. I hate to say this as well, but it's a hidden gem. This unassuming sushi place seriously has the freshest sushi in town... so much more fresh than the other popular sushi places like rantei. Just look at the pictures.. I don't have to say any more to tell you how fresh that fish is. And the slices are thick! The uni was my favorite but all the other fish were just as amazing as well. 4 of us shared a sushi platter (highly recommend) and a couple rolls. The rolls were delicious. They really perfected the ratio of the rice, fillings, and toppings Also a side note but as a tea lover, i just wanna say their tea is really lovely too. Located off of Lundy inside the Pacific Rim Plaza, we often visit this place whenever we have a craving for some really good Sushi. We always feels very satisfied after eating here. My pick is normaly the Charazi bowl, which comes with a variety of fresh fish, a Salad, and the Tofu soup. Went here for a friends birthday dinner. My friends seemed happy enough with their rolls but my Chucks Crunch roll (tempura shrimp, spicy tuna, avocado and tempura crunch) was not at all spicy. I also tried a bite of my friends cherry blossom roll and didn't find it very flavorful either. Oddly enough even the usual wasabi paste was lacking flavor. The chicken katsu was fine. Not too dry but not moist. Doesn't stand out but at $16 for two items, it's good value. My son got the tempura Don. I really like the sauce. They mixed the tempura sauce with panko and made a thick sauce over the tempura. Though, for some reason, the tempura is more oily than those in the bento. Which made it a bit too oily. read more
