On August 9, 2023 my family and I had to make a tough decision to euthanize our dog who was 13 years old. It was only time for our beloved Russell needed to be put at ease. We opted to have our pet cremated and have his paw engraved for our family. We wanted his ashes to be next to his partner who passed away 4 years ago and they will forever be together again. We have not heard back from our vet as to when we can pick-up our dog's ashes and paw print. We followed-up since it has been 3 weeks with our vet to get in contact to get an estimate of when we could pick him up. On August 31, we received devastating news from Only Cremations for Pets, Inc. that his body was displaced and was cremated in a communal cremation setting. They offered a refund, but it's not about the money, it's the family member that we truly lost who will never be brought back to us. The business was very apologetic and offered us the ashes from the communal cremation which they state it was 8 dogs including our baby Russell. It's devastating news to our family that we cannot have his ashes solely but only bits of it. We will never understand how this oversight could have happened and still proceed with the communal cremation. There needs to be more done by the business and account for how many dogs owners are requesting their pet back and not proceed if there is a missing dog. I understand that is too late for any corrective action but would like Only Cremation for Pets to ensure appropriate measures are taken place in order to prevent this oversight. As a pet owner and my family, I wish that this does not happen to anyone else in the future as the suffering has been brought back to us in a different light. read more

I took Max's body home from the vet after he passed. We brought him Only Cremations for Pets and I'm so glad we did. The staff is helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. They went over all the options and pricing in a very compassionate way (not easy when you're holding a box with the body of your beloved pet). The office is kind of cramped and not like a funeral home, but they do their jobs well, and seeing their process is very comforting. Quick turnaround! We dropped him off on Monday and got him back on Wednesday. I was also very happy with the packages they offer and the prices. We went with the vase, but every package includes a ceramic impression of your pet's paw, a certificate of individual cremation, and a packet of Forget-Me-Not planting seeds. In my opinion - this is above and beyond. I've gone to other pet crematoriums in the past, but I have to say this is the only one I'll go to from now on. read more

My beloved yorkie passed away suddenly. We opted for private cremation and it was through only cremations for pets. The vet hospital quoted about 2 weeks for the ashes to be ready. Within 9 days I got a text that they were ready for delivery. They hand delivered to our home. As sad as it is, the urn is beautiful. Our Miss Ruby passed away in the emergency pet hospital after a terrible seizure in the night. Her mains were delivered to us in about 1 week. The driver was so kind handing me the beautiful little box tenderly placed in a soft organza like bag with ribbon. When I was planning my very sick cat's cremation, I was informed by my veterinary that they use Only Cremations for Pet disposal/cremation for their owners. I also learned that it may be up to a week for my pet to be picked up, and another week for them to cremate and return the remains to my vet for me to pick up. This was a timeline I felt was unacceptable to me. So I contacted Only Cremation personally and learned that if I went directly to them instead of my Vet, the cost was about 3x more. I was then informed that if I went through my vet and paid through them, I could then drop off my pet and pick them up myself with a less than 48 turn around for the massively reduced rate. This was totally what I was looking for. Due to COVID-19, viewing after drop-off is no longer allowed. So, I was met by Vanessa in the parking lot who kindly accepted my pet's body and provided me with information including a pick-up availability. What happened next is what gave only Creations 5 stars. 36 hours later, prior to picking up my pet's cremated remains, I contacted Brittany and asked if it was possible to include in my pets container which was a cedar box, the cremated remains of my deceased pet's brother who passed years earlier and whose cremated remains I had in a bag if it fit; I was told yes. So upon arriving, I was met, again in the parking lot, by Brittany who took my other pet's remains and a picture of the two together and returned 15 minutes later with a beautifully prepared package containing both pets. Upon arriving home, I carefully unwrapped the package which was assembled and prepared with so much compassion and professionalism compared to another crematorium I took my other pet, it blew me away. It was so beautiful and sweet and even seeds for flowers to plant above them in the ground. Even had I paid 3x more, it would certainly have been worth every penny! I am so glad that I went to Only Cremation for Pets in Newport Beach and highly recommend them for your pet. It's been 3 weeks and I keep calling them to see if they have an update on when I will be getting my baby and they keep telling me the driver has him and they can't get in touch with him. Then they tell me the driver didn't realize before he picked up my kitty that it's "out of their delivery range" which is stupid because the Vet hospital checked everything before they gave him to them. And then they say that the driver will be making an exception since I've been calling about this and that I will get a call end of next week for delivery date. End of week comes, no call. It's taken me awhile to get around to writing this review because I've been emotional. My sweet baby passed away at the end of the summer. After an emergency vet visit, my husband and I had to put our cat to sleep. The ER vet has a relationship with Only Cremations and the cremation service was arranged by the vet's office. The vet receptionist reviewed the options for urns with us; due to covid this was over the phone while we were out in the car. I was devastated and in tears and not having an easy time comprehending things, so at the time we just opted for the simplest option with the plain white box. About 6 days later my husband received a phone call in the morning from Only Cremations, they were ready to deliver my baby's remains that day and wanted to confirm we'd be home to receive him. The delivery person (unfortunately do not recall his name) was kind and compassionate, he expressed his condolences for our loss and presented us with a beautiful package. The plain white box urn was actually quite pretty with a floral paper design and it was wrapped up in a cloth bag with engraved name tag that included a sympathy card, packet of seeds with poem, and clay paw print impression. The paw print was such a happy surprise, I didn't know it was part of the package and in my emotional state of mind hadn't even thought to ask about one, I'm so glad they made it!! Now it's been nearly 4 months and I've decided I want to upgrade the urn. Only Cremations' website has a beautiful brass vase with paw prints. I purchased it yesterday. Cassandra helped me with the sale, I went to their office and she came out to my car and handled the transaction outside due to Covid. Hey I get this is a service for grieving pet parents. But do not play with emotions! We lost our dog and the emergency hospital told us that he'll be cremated and we'll get him in 7-10 business days. Uh huh! On the 11th day, and on a Saturday when they're closed, I get a text at 8:45am that he'll be delivered to us today. After several texts wanting an ETA and getting BS times, he was finally delivered 12 hours later! Who the hell do they think they are by playing with your emotions and having you wait the entire day and deliver him at night when you know you'll be upset and not sleep well? I find it odd that I went to pick up my dog's ashes when it was RAINING ashes from all those wildfires. A few minutes ago I looked inside the little cedar box that contains my dog's ashes and I started to cry. It took me a few minutes to compose myself to be able to type this. *sigh* I am very thankful that my dog was in good hands after her death. My dog's hospital, Tustana Animal Hospital, used Only Cremations to privately cremate her (as opposed to a group cremation where you don't receive your pet's ashes only). My hospital assured me that this cremation company is very careful with making sure that I'll get only MY dog's ashes back. There's a little sticker on the bottom of the box with her name, the bag with her ashes has her name on it, and enclosed with the remains is a certificate of guarantee that she has been cremated privately. When I first received her ashes, I couldn't help but stare at her ashes and wonder where each little piece came from. I don't know why, but I also smelled the bag. It smelled like mint! At first I thought that they added some mint scent to cover up the ashy smell, but then I realized that it was actually the scent of the cedar box...haha. I found out about this place when my cat passed away from the vet I always took him too from his tag when he got picked up. I was so concern about the cremation process part because I wanted to know what they do and if my cat will be cremated by himself cause on his tag it states private cremation. But the fact I was missing my baby boy so much. I just wanted to know if I will only receive my cats ashes Danielle promised me that on my cats tag it states private cremation so meaning it will only be my cat. But I did asked her another question she never responded to me it upset me cause it's like hello just answer my question. So I decided to call and spoke with another lady that worked there forgot her name I asked her my question if the animal comes in a bag do they cremate them with a plastic bag or take them out. Thankfully this lady that I spoke with answered my question. They only cremate your animal if you left belongs with it and no they don't cremate them with plastic bag when they receive the animal they are taken out. I didn't want my cat cremated with the plastic bag even though I wrote a message on it. But when I took it to the vet they place him in another bag. I had my cat wrapped with his blanket that he laid on all the timeso he was taken out of the plastic bag I hopeand was cremated with his blanket. My cat is a tabby so it better have been his ashes but I believe ashes are different when an animal is burned. I'm like is this even my cat? His blanket was gray. KTLA did a story on Only Cremations showing that group cremations are performed even though you receive a certificate guaranteeing individual cremations. The news story is on my profile. My 2 dogs died within a year of each other, 1 was 26 LBS and the other was 12 LBS. Both were cremated at Only Cremations. Shockingly, the 26 LB dog's ashes weighed in at 6.5 OZ, whereas the 12 LB dog's ashes weighed 8 OZ. What's worse is that instead of denying the group cremations, the owner, Dr. George Katcherian, offered me "two of his best urns along with me being able to personally view my next pet be rolled into the oven by itself - a $450 value." Since there is no regulation of this business in CA, the only way to ensure your pet is being individually cremated is to find a company who is a member of the International Association of Pet Cemetarys and Crematories. read more

This company was trusted with the remains of our beloved dog. They never called or emailed us with any information or updates on the process. We were told by the animal hospital that the process usually takes 2 weeks, but 2 weeks had passed without us ever hearing anything from this company. When we finally obtained a tracking number we were shocked to learn that delivery had been attempted 5 days before! We were never notified, never given a tracking number or update ahead of time despite numerous calls, & worst of all one of us was HOME that whole time waiting for our dogs remains to be delivered. After 2 days of frantic calls & searching, we finally tracked down the location of our dog, at the post office, about to be shipped back to the company, without us ever knowing that he had even arrived! It's outrageous that a company that handles something this sensitive would just put our dog in the mail & never tell us a thing! To this day we haven't been contacted by them, we're happy to have finally found our dogs remains but we should've NEVER had to go thru this after the sudden, tragic loss of our boy. No family should have to experience this added pain on top of such loss & the least we could do was warn others of our experience.
