Coming here for the first time, I ordered the chicken katsu combo, which is a spectacular deal for the price and quality! The combo comes with a side of their delicious macaroni or 'mac' salad (wish they gave a larger scoop!), 2 hefty scoops of Japanese rice, and a bed of cabbage. The customer service was very quick and I received my to-go order in under 5 minutes. Also, I liked that there were sauce dispensers for teriyaki and katsu sauce. The katsu sauce was the tastier of two: a nice tangy, sweet flavor that complimented the crispy, savory skin of the chicken katsu. Thanks so much for catering our Mother's Day luncheon. We were all convening at my parents' house for lunch. We were in charge of lunch so we thought this would be a hit for kids and adults. We got beef, pulled pork, crunchy cream cheese wontons with possibly (fake) crab, katsu and grilled chicken, salad, potato salad, etc. My parents were impressed by the amount of meat we ordered and the variety of meat. The only downfall was we were told to pick up food around 11 but they open at 11 so they shouldn't have 11 am as a pick up time. We waited around in our car but we order A LOT. We had a great meal from here. I called in the order and it was ready when I went to pick it up. I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ chicken, katsu chicken, kalbi short ribs, kalua pork, and island white fish which all came with white rice, macaroni salad, and steamed cabbage and broccoli. I had never ordered the BBQ chicken before and it was better than I expected. The katsu chicken and island white fish had a perfectly fried and crispy coating. The kalua pork was flavorful. The manager is really rude they messed up on my plate today and I let her know and she kind of just rolled her eyes and seemed annoyed. The cooks need to pay more attention to the orders. Had a terrible experience here I went today 10/27 at around 6pm and the cashiers weren't even paying attention they were too busy gossiping. The manager had an attitude and she wasn't very helpful. Food is OK, but Katsu Chicken is supposed to come with katsu sauce, other wise its just a fried chicken cutlet, cut into strips- Forgetting to put it in the bag is just bad business... Wonderful customer service, Josiah was really helpful and attentive. He noticed I was taking a picture of the menu and offered a Togo menu. I always know what to expect when coming to Ono, the flavors are always on point! I absolutely LOVE the macaroni salad, I always do double Mac and no veggies. The crispy shrimp or the chicken Katsu are my go to, and my hubby's favorite is the Hawaiian bbq beef. I ordered to go on a Wednesday around 2:30 and there was no wait, the inside of the store is always really clean as well. I would highly suggest coming here next time you're craving teriyaki, I'm not a huge fan of other big name chains... but Ono is one of my favs. read more

Customer service here is crap. The rating is not about the food - but about the location and their staff. Every time we have come here, they are the rudest employees and abrupt. They need better management. We were the only ones in the restaurant to order and proceeded to tell us to come back in 10 minutes to get our food. Lady- you go stand outside in this heat. I haven't been able to support a lot of different businesses due to COVID surges, but I find myself back to Ono Hawaiian time after time again, specifically even for their food, because they're that good. So updating their review for new year 2021! I've never dined in with them before, so the new COVID safety measures they're taking didn't really affect my way of patronizing this branch. In fact, the parking lot is now emptier than ever, and ordering usually doesn't involve lining up. So it's actually kinda great, though for not so great root causes. Mask on, walk in, order with the cashier behind a plexi-glass divider, then wait on the side. In less than 5 minutes, my order is ready. How great is that? Prices still can't be beat. $10 + tax gets you a lunch plate, which is basically a combo plate that is served all day long (I think) despite the name. For such a low price, you have a choice of protein, 2 scoops of rice, 1 scoop of macaroni salad, AND vegetables. Seriously, how do you beat that? My go to are Hawaiian BBQ chicken, chicken katsu, and a few others. Everything is intensely flavorful and delicious. I don't think there is such a thing as a bad option. Haven't tried the fish yet, so maybe that'll be my choice in the coming days. Around the Christmas holidays, you could get $30 gift cards and get $10 bonus. The $30 ones, you can use right away at the same visit, and the $10 ones, you can use in the first quarter of 2021. If you do take-out from them anyway, like me, then this is a great deal. I was in the mood for Hawaiian, mainly i was craving katsu & mac salad. I chose Ono.. Best decision I've made all month. I'm mad tht i didn't take a foto of my plate. But..next plate. I ordered chkn katsu w/it's sauce. Crispy fish w/tartar sauce. Kalua pork, macaroni salad, rice, bbq chkn and vegetables w/teriyaki sauce. The katsu was the best I've had and so was the mac salad. I cldnt stop eating them and the fish. Incredible i tell ya. Tender flaky fish crunchy crust and well seasoned. The pork was so well flavored on it's own but goes great with the teriyaki sauce. Not too much. Gotta keep tht natural meat flavor. Bbq chkn had perfect char and flavor yet tender. All 3 sauces worked perfectly with it's corresponding meats. I wldnt change a thing. I usually come here for some spam Musubi, but today I decided to get a plate. I had ordered off of Uber eats. I got the Kalbi Short Ribs, which came with rice and their macaroni salad. I did not know it came with macaroni salad so I had ordered the t one the side too. The Kalbi Short Ribs were super yum and easy to eat. The meat fell off the bones so easily. The white rice was also good. Their macaroni salad was delicious. I ate what came with my plate and ate the side I ordered the next day. This was Friday 3/31 one receipt said 6:43,the other said 6:47 I think that was the credit card receipt with the later time.... our ticket number was 155. Experience: As I walked in I was greeted by the cashier which is something I always appreciate. I went ahead and ordered the Chicken Katsu plate and my boss ordered the BBQ Mix Plate. The total came out to roughly 22 dollars which was a fair price to me. The place is clean and all the tables were wiped down. 10/10 Food: We ended up taking the food back to work. The food stayed hot which was really nice! The Katsu was actually very good! It wasn't too dry and it was breaded really nice. The macaroni salad was eh. It tasted very sweet for some odd reason. It was really warm almost as if it sat out for a day or so. I wasn't too fond of that but the chicken made up for it. The short ribs were sliced so thin it curled up and was overcooked ..not edible. The competition is steep for Ono in my book, unfortunately. I live in Utah where we have access to Mo Bettah's, L&L, Lanikai, Moki's, and more. I got the teriyaki chicken plate, and my dad got a mixed BBQ plate. He really liked his. I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken due to the quality. I'm used to grilled, slightly charred, slabs of chicken. This was kind of like a teriyaki chicken that you'd get at a local Chinese place, with skin on and fattier than expected. The steamed veggies were a nice touch. It's hard to do rice incorrectly, so that was fine. The mac salad was good, but not exceptional. I'd come back and try the shrimp. I LOVE that they have spam musubi. That is something that places in Utah don't often serve. Sometimes, you just need a good spam musubi. You can get it at Ono, for sure. read more

I had a coupon with a free drink and buy one dinner with the second half off which was good. I got lucky as the couple in front of me had an extra one and offered it to me. The restaurant is clean and friendly service. Food was good. We were happy with what we ordered. The portion size is a good amount. They WILL mess up your order especially when you call in to order so make sure to have them repeat it because they won't fix your messed up order and claim that you (the customer) told them incorrectly. Are you serious? The worker who said that to me was Evan. Actually come to think of it only this location has messed up my order even in person. But other times they have been willing to fix it. I don't understand how it's so difficult for them to comprehend "sub rice for more mac" do I have to spell it out for them NO RICE AT ALL, ONLY MAC. As far as Hawaiian food goes on the mainland, it's a good spot for that BBQ, short rib, or musubi fix. Kalbi plate: ($11.99) my usual go to plate. Kalbi ribs, rice and macaroni. I usually believe at $12 it should be like fast food Chinese and be spilling over with ribs.... But I'll take it anyway. The meat was tender and tasty as it should be. They got it right opening day which is a good sign that they know what they're doing. I would have gave the full 5 but they had me waiting 30 min due to some order confusion. This is so ONO! love their island fire chicken plate. Very similar flavor to the island except in my neighborhood. Everything tastes fresh and a larger portion for the price. My only problem was when I walked in, there wasn't anyone up front to greet you as you walked in , the customers that were in front of me were undecided about what they were going to order, so they let me go in front of them. I said thank you , I walked in front of them and was waiting for someone to come take my order. While waiting for someone to take my order, the people behind me turned and walked out the door. A decent meal here are the mini plates which gives you an option of one meat and sides. I always get a small drink so that I can get constant refills of the honey green tea.
