    Shrimp appetizer

I went out with the 81 and 77 year olds who own the house to see what was good to eat. I wasn't that hungry but I was along for the ride. He grew up with Hawai'i, so this is a natural destination. She spent a few years there, as well. My flight to Japan and back probably flew over the islands. I have no clue about Hawaiian food. He ordered Kalua Pork. She ordered Kal Bi, which is actually Korean, but whatever, plus the Shrimp appetizer. I ordered the Island White fish in a mini meal. She asked what kind of fish it was and the person behind the counter said "white". I probably would have said "Caucasian" but that's just me trying to make someone laugh. They serve Coca-Cola products and the little Hawaiian cans that you can also find at Costco. I got a cup for water. It didn't take too long, but her meal wasn't exactly as ordered, so they changed the extra scoop of rice to extra macaroni salad, and they were pleasant about it. We asked about the difference between the mini meal and the plate for the White fish. The extra $2.00 gets you two more pieces of fish and an extra scoop of rice. Everything was good. I'd never had macaroni salad like that and mayonnaise is something I usually avoid but I wanted to try everything. I'm just glad to find a place that has fish that isn't outrageously expensive. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. I liked that they had Compost and Recycling, also. The soap dispenser in the restroom wasn't working but I opened the lid and got some soap.

Paid $17 for a chicken katsu plate and got served undercooked chicken pink in the middle and totally unsafe to eat. I told them, and they remade it... but the second batch? Same issue, and now it was also soggy and greasy on top of that. So not only was it still pink, it was now a greasy mess too. No texture, no flavor, just a health risk wrapped in breadcrumbs. Would anyone seriously eat that? Because I'm not risking food poisoning twice in one sitting. For $17, I expected a decent meal, not raw chicken and oily disappointment. No apology, no accountability--just dangerous food and bad service. Do better. Or don't serve food at all.

Grilled chicken plate; look at all that food!! Cant do better than that

Best Ono I've ever been to. Little late on the review but great service, amazing food, & truly accomodating. Loved how this Ono was surrounded near a wonderful shopping center with many fun shops to explore as well. I ordered the Chicken plate with extra mac and less cabbage. Also liked how they had all their condiments to the side so you could choose exactly what you wanted. Just wanted to say, that when i got my to go order everything was right off the grill. Nothing had been left sitting and everything was HOT. Perfectly cooked; to me i loved that because you could tell this store was considerate of their customers and had so much thought into how their meals were being served. Definitely not a long wait time for the 3 orders that were ahead of me & enjoyed my visit at this location. Always enjoy Ono's awesome Hawaiian bbq!!

Everything was just as I'd hoped! I ordered a 2 item with kalua pork (.50 extra) and white fish. I asked if I could just get one scoop of rice and the rest salad and they said sure! I love the Mac salad too. The teriyaki sauce adds so much. They made it fresh, and they served with a smile! I'll be back

This place is usually good, but for some reason the ribs tasted funky and they were hard/chewy yesterday (saturday). Lost my appetite.

This sauce tasted like something I could squeeze out of a store bought bottle. On the other hand, the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage was phenomenal! I have to say the best one I've had. It has a snap and once snapped, you can see the cheese oozing out, and once you bite into it, you get that kick from the jalapeno! This recipe is mastered. I'd travel a distance to get this. The potato salad and coleslaw are good sides. *Before you leave, check your order. When I was waiting for my food, a couple had to come back because an item was missing. We drove near a small hut with a sign that read BBQ with a small line of people so we figured it must be good. We turned back and found no more customers, but we asked the caller what was popular, she recommended tri tip and brisket. We ordered combination plates with macaroni and cheese as the side. We asked if the plates came with bread. We asked if the Mac and cheese was homemade. DISAPPOINTED. Both meats were heavily salted, and the brisket had tons of fat. The macaroni and cheese was bright orange with tons of garlic and it tastes like I was biting into a brick of sharp cheddar cheese. The bread was a cold King's Hawaiian roll. We also ordered a hot link on the side that was dried up and hard as a rock. The bbq sauce that came with the plates tastes like bottle sauce. Sadly, we did not attempt to eat the food and threw away $45 worth of food. We don't live in the area so we were not sure and expected more from this little spot. I really wish it had exceeded expectations.

An amazing home-y spot for Asian comfort food in Manteca :)…read more For appetizers, we got the bang bang shrimp and spicy wontons and both were delicious. I liked how crispy and sweet yet tangy the bang bang shrimp was. This was probably my favorite item we tried! The chili wontons weren't too spicy and they were really generous with the amount of shrimp inside. Shrimp & wonton noodle soup was def a comfort meal growing up, so I'm happy they had that here! Portion size was very generous and broth was tasty. Noodles were cooked well too, and I liked the filling of the wonton. We also got the curry ramen with katsu chicken. The chicken was sooo crispy, it was one of my favorite items. The bacon kimchi flavor had a nice spicy kick to it. The beef chili oil noodles was tasty and I liked the small beef bits. The bang bang chicken had the same sauce as the bang bang shrimp, but I liked how the entree came with rice too. The philly cheesesteak eggrolls were super crispy, and if you're a cheese lover, you need to try this! Overall, a really solid spot for Asian fusion food, and the servers were all extremely nice and patient as well. Service was really quick!

I ordered a plate of crispy hashbrowns topped with tender pulled pork, smothered in rich, creamy gravy, and sprinkled with fresh jalapeños for a perfect kick. It was comforting without being heavy, like a warm hug you didn't know you needed. But the best part? They had fun flavored mimosas that made brunch feel like a celebration. We tried a few different flavors, and each one was bright, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the savory food. (Rachel Green would approve.) The staff was friendly, kept the coffee refills coming, and made us feel welcome without hovering. The prices were fair, and the portions were generous enough to leave you full but not overly stuffed. If you're looking for a cozy spot with great food, good vibes, and a reason to say "How you doin'?" to your mimosa, this is it. Can't wait to come back and bring friends for a brunch round two.

Service- the staff were nice, but they were slow. Granted, there was a large table ahead of us, so +1 for that Food- I ordered the kalua pork and rice. The kalua pork was probably reheated on the griddle, kind of salty, it was meh. The biggest disappointment was the rice. It was hard. For a "Hawaiian" restaurant to not know how to cook rice is sad. This place has potential. I don't know if they are tired or don't have that spark. Maybe they need a new location. The park across the street has a bunch of unhoused folks.

The food has always tasted good no matter which location I've visited. The restaurant itself was clean overall. I'd give the cleanliness a 7/10 because while the dining area was well maintained and air conditioned, the sauce bar was a bit messy. Not a huge issue, but enough to notice. I also like the self-order kiosks. They're a great option if you have social anxiety or simply prefer not to order at the counter, while still giving you the choice to order from a cashier if you want that person-to-person interaction. The cashier wasn't rude, but she also wasn't very friendly. She seemed like she just didn't want to be there, which I understand it's a job, and everyone has off days. Still, friendly service makes a difference, and it's one reason I couldn't rate this place higher. I've been to smaller local restaurants where the staff are incredibly welcoming, and that really enhances the overall experience. As for the food, it was good and consistent. The portions felt fair for the price, and I honestly think one plate is enough for two people to share, depending on your appetite. Everything looked well prepared, nothing was overcooked or dry, and it tasted fresh. Wait time wasn't too bad either under 10mins. They also had lunch specials available, but since I didn't order one this visit, I can't really comment on the value of those. Overall, I think 3 stars is fair. It's a solid place that I would come back to because the food is consistently good and reasonably priced. I just don't have much to rave about beyond that. Good, reliable food but not an exceptional experience.
