We moved to Pleasantville about 6 months ago and tried ON's based on good reviews. So happy that we did. We have eaten here several times and everything is always fresh and delicious. The portions are huge and the prices are great. They will make changes to your order if requested. The food is prepared quickly and it's always very good. I would definitely recommend it. I can't believe this place is a top 5 finalists for this years Top Westchester Eats in that magazine they print. The chicken & beef dishes are cooked in 5 minutes.... Boiled then microwaved & tastes slimy/ soggy. Seems like when the FDA cracked down on MSG in Chinese food back in the mid 90's; the quality has gone down hill. Can't find a good brown sauce, or quality of meat since then as a whole.. Not just this place. That's why they are a finalist this year! The judges didn't have too much choose from I guess. I used to love On's. Best Chinese food around. We order almost weekly, until now. Tonight the owner was rude and difficult and pretty much greedy and taking advantage of customers. I have the menu that says free delivery of $15 or more. I called for delivery. Before even asking where I lived, he said we don't deliver far, only Pleasantville. I live in Pleasantville. It's a tiny spot, other towns don't know of them. They are already sketchy with their "cash only" business. So I get the delivery because I could throw a rock and hit them. I order 6 items. Then I'm told it's a $25 delivery minimum. Which I'm sure I had. This dude was so difficult. If you don't want business anymore than close up and get out!!! You're nasty and rude and sketchy! It's a restaurant not a mob business. Cash only? Really? Well you have lost my order and all future orders. Remember my $89 order last week? Never gonna happen again! This pandemic has really brought out the worst in some people and businesses! Try asking where to for delivery before you get cranky and say Pleasantville only. And read your menu. $15 dollar minimum. You can't change what you have advertised. All you did was turn us off and we ordered from Craft instead. Great Chinese food!....we ordered take out boneless ribs, pork fried rice, shrimp toast, and chicken fingers that were prepared in a light batter similar to tempura. The food arrived in a timely fashion from a courteous person. The portions were generous and delicious. Okay tasting food, super fast service, scarily dirty facility, no credit cards. Like others, we had been patrons of Magic Wok in Pleasantville for many years, until the ownership changed along with the food. We've had takeout from On's several times now (calling in our order and picking it up). The food is okay, consistent, but nothing special. The most concerning aspect of On's is how dirty the place is. There are literally visible layers of dirt and grime caked on the range hoods, the walls of the kitchen and the dining area. I can only imagine what lurks around the food prep and storage areas. The whole place needs to be steam cleaned and sanitized. The last two times my husband ate the barbecue spare ribs, he had stomach issues. Time for us to go elsewhere (although there are few alternatives nearby). read more

Magic Wok was really good until they changed owners. On's was pretty decent and our backup. I guess it's a hit or miss sometimes. I have not visited for quite some time but decided to visit last night. I ordered sesame chicken and order of fried chicken wings last night. And I have had these in Chinatown, and what I had last night was not close. Sesame chicken does not normally come with broccoli, which is usually in General Tso's chicken, but I guess these days you have to include some kind of filler to keep the dish reasonably priced. Next, given the size of the chicken pieces in the sesame chicken dish, it was over fried. You need to retain the tenderness, or else you end up with a sweet batter coated chicken jerky, which was what it was close to being. The 4 fried chicken wings were also a bit over fried as well. I just so happen to have had an order when I was in Flushing last Saturday, and it was crispy and tender/juicy inside, while last night was more crunchy and bit dried. If the person overseeing the fryer does not pay attention, these can easily turn a good dish into a below average dish. The business used to accept credit card payment, but apparently, this is no longer the case - cash only. read more

Tough to call in an order. They work so fast that your not sure they got the correct order but somehow they mostly get it right. One day they will deliver to my house, other times they say it's too far. The kids seem to like the food a lot, I don't it's just too greasy. Finally found a truly great American Chinese delivery in Westchester! I did not actually stop into the store, but the delivery was super fast and the price is very reasonable. Delicious "American" Chinese standbys: General Tso's, Sesame Chicken, PFR, steamed dumplings... On's is a hole in the wall with basic Chinese food that is consistently of good quality -at a great price. I've been ordering from them for 12 years now -they always seem to get it right and ready fast. They happily do special requests like "make it with sliced white meat chicken", or "make it extra spicy", etc. The woman who runs it is indeed one of the most efficient, hardest working people I've ever met. Recommend Kung Pao chicken (made with white meat, extra spicy), cashew chicken, steamed dumplings, shrimp egg roll. Also will do a "diet menu" with steamed ingredients and a sauce on the side.
