So good! Basically it's an onigiri spot, not sure why they call it a "rice triangle" (???). Got the spicy ahi tuna and short rib ones. The amount of stuffing they give you is a LOT, way more than I was expecting. Since they give you so much, I think it's a good value. I would come back to try some of the other options! read more

I only noticed this shop when I started to take BART again since I walk right by it and I knew I had to stop by at least once to give it a try. Luckily, they were still doing their grand opening special so you get one "rice triangle" for $1! I only wanted 1, so I was surprised to only pay $1 and it came out fast. I ordered the grilled salmon one, since I miss having the salmon onigiri from Japan so much that I had previously went on a journey for a good salmon onigiri in the bay area. The rice triangle was tasty. I wish it wasn't so saucy since I prefer salty over sweet. It doesn't fit with my taste but it was very good. I think for the actual price of $3-$5 a triangle, it's expensive, but overall, it's to be expected in the bay area, no? This is a nice little addition to the rockridge area and I can see this being a great pitstop for a lot of the students when they are on their way home or for commuters. I don't see it as a real meal but as a snack, but they do have other food at the very least if you want something a bit more filling. read more

Okay, super cute hole in the wall spot. I've ordered all of the triangles and while they're all amazing my favorites are teriyaki chicken and kimchi!!! I usually order 4 and eat what I don't finish later and it's still equally as fresh and flavorful. Love this place! read more

The prices of their triangles are too expensive compared to to the quantity you're getting. A triangle should not cost more than 2.50 max because it's just rice and bit of meat. Nothing out of the ordinary to be charged 6$ for a small triangle. read more

Thought the food was good and the price was reasonable. I understood that you could have the option to order your own meal through a tablet, but they asked for a tip as an option. Not going to tip for serving myself but would tip for human interaction. read more

The people who work here are SO friendly and so fast. I once ordered two rice triangles on the self-service kiosk and put my bag down on the table right next to it to take off my jacket, and they had made the rice triangles by the time I took off my jacket. My son and I are big fans of onigiri, so we were excited to check out Oori. Hard Pass. We were disappointed with each item we ordered: Salmon Triangle, (2) Unagi Triangles, Short Rib Dinner and Edamame Side. The rice in each of the triangles was incredibly hard--not like it was uncooked but as if it had been sitting out. (Unfortunately, we took our food to go, otherwise, I would have returned everything.) All three triangles were unpalatable. My 15 yr. old son is a huge short rib fan and loves a little greasy meat from time-to-time but even he could not eat this bland, pile of small, dried chunks of meat. They managed to ruin the edamame, also. The pods were soggy and almost grey instead of firm and bright green. We were excited about this concept as we'd love to order ahead and pick up Onigiri on the run. The upshot to the experience is that the technology worked really well. We successfully placed our order easily on the ipads provided at the front. The servers were very nice. Perhaps these issues are due to the newness of the store and Oori can make (vast) improvements to the quality of the food. read more

The owner/manager was extremely rude. We were ordering for pick up by phone so it will save us time. The manager/owner refused, he said we should go there for him to start our order. I mean what's the point of ordering in advance. The food was mediocre and they serve small servings. Go order somewhere else. read more

To take out process is very easy unfortunately if you have a question I hope it's not too good there just tell you to figure it out yourself on the iPad they are not taking cash which seems very odd because they touch everything else again the food is very good but the service is not too good there seems to be a lot of young people making packaging and doing it and the quality control could be better they also have not read the special instructions several several times that I've gotten home and found out that they were not followed so now unfortunately I have to take my food out to the car open every box and check it and sometimes go back in to get it corrected read more

I eat at Oori Rice Triangles pretty regularly and have generally had good experiences. I usually get a couple of Salmon Triangles or Chicken Teriyaki Triangles to go, so I can eat while walking around the Rockridge neighborhood. The triangles are usually tasty and delicious and are generally made pretty quickly. But sometimes it can take them a while to make orders (even when it's not busy), seems like my order will be forgotten or really delayed as I have had to wait 20-30 minutes a few times for my triangles sometimes. I like that their register station has a self-service feature, so you're able to order and put it in their queue when the cashier is busy. The staff here has also been consistently friendly and the place has always been clean with a good amount of seats. They also have self-serve water. Oori Triangles is just a great and unique food option near the Rockridge Bart. read more

We really like Oori. We are in the area so this is a nice affordable place. Rice triangles are tasty. We have tried several of the flavors and really like the spicy shrimp triangle and spicy pork triangle. Miso soup is good too. Kids like to there for a quick snack. Service is ok, not super friendly or knowledgeable about their food. read more

This is our new favorite spot! I love the original location in Albany, so I was really excited to see this spot open (at the former location of Brooklyn Bagel). Prices are so reasonable and the rice triangles are delicious. I love the Ahi Tuna triangle! Plenty of seating with big tall windows. The kids will eat the teriyaki chicken rice triangle (hold the scallions). In rapidly gentrifying Oakland, it's refreshing to see a delicious "down home" restaurant open in Rockridge. read more

Great quick and casual place. The meat is done really well and they have a wide variety of different types, chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, crab to choose from. They also offer plates instead of triangles where you can choose up to 3 meat options over rice with edamame. My sister and I decided to try this restaurant on 1/15 on a whim. After seeing the reviews (on Google and Yelp), I was hopeful that this would be a great new local spot, but I was very disappointed with my experience here. After purchasing my plate, I was told that one of the key ingredients, edamame, was no longer available. Had they told me prior to purchase, there wouldn't have been an issue, but the timing of the communication cornered me into ordering something that I would not enjoy. In the place of the edamame they offered me to two options: a small amount of Kim chi or ~just~ ginger. Having already ordered extra Kim chi, I thought that they would be including more, but they only gave me the kimchi that I had ordered and paid for as a side. I actually had to request a refund and place my order again because they decided that the extra side of Kim chi that I paid for would replace the edamame that would normally be included in the plate. To add insult to injury, the miso soup that I ordered was nothing more than unflavored broth -- there was literally nothing in the soup. I am incredibly disappointed, in both the food AND the customer service. The disconnect that occurs with the self-serve kiosk is troubling -- I understand that the staff was doing the best that they could, but store policy should be altered in instances such as this. Instead of forcing me to use the self-serve kiosk. I would much rather work with a staff member who could tell me if substitutions would be required before purchase. read more

Oori Rice Triangles are a great addition to the neighborhood. This is a great place for quick grab-and-go lunch, or even more leisurely lunch meeting. The service is very attentive to special requests, and also very quick for those concerned about lunch hours. The atmosphere is in keeping with the neighborhood casual wooden vibe. The actual menu is simple, but all the choices are unique and uniquely delicious. The spiciness may be too much for some and too little for others, but I think it is just right for a lunch meal. I especially recommend the kimchee options (kimchee tofu for example). I hope this place sticks around! read more

The product is pretty good. While I loved the spicy pork Onigiri, the kimchi tofu was lacking in flavor. Didn't really taste like the tofu had been "marinated," as it claimed on the menu. I'd normally give such a place four stars, but they lost one with service. The person who took my order was exceedingly shy and so soft-spoken, that I needed her to repeat everything at least three times. (My hearing isn't *that* bad...not yet at least ;-) I will return to try their other featured triangles, so have not by any means written this new eatery off the list. Came and got a spicy pork plate as I always do . AND that 100% has MSG I felt extremely tired after eating (half the plate ) and I literally fell asleep in my car. ON TOP OF THAT I have had a upset stomach every since.. WTF I never felt this before BUT I will say there was way more FAT than usual and the pieces of meat were way bigger than it usually is ..
