If you're not coming at a super busy time, free neighborhood parking is easily located. Save your $$$ and spend it on an onigiri instead! When I went to Oori, they were offering $1 for your first onigiri! Yay! I ordered the spicy ahi tuna, short rib, and spicy pork. OMG. They were all amazing! Super flavorful, very warm, and the triangles are a pretty decent size. The spicy ones definitely had some heat to them. I can't pick a favorite because they were all that yummy. The side salad you get for ordering 3 onigiri was bleh. I can't believe they call it a salad... It's really just a few pieces of lettuce + a few edamame beans. When I was feeling poorly, my godson (a sweetie pie) offered to bring me dinner. I'd seen him with a huge chicken teriyaki dinner recently and I asked for that. When he showed up on my doorstep with a still steaming heap of chicken over rice, with small containers of sesame seeds and packets of sauces (soy, sriracha) I couldn't wait to dive in. It was SOOOOOO good!! I demolished it until I was full, and I'd only eaten half it, so got a satisfying lunch again the next day. When he told me where it was from, I heard it as Oar-y or Ohrē, and couldn't find it under those spellings, but when I did a search on chicken teriyaki rockridge I found this and had to laugh. He'd brought me here once before, and I was so focused on the rice triangles I didn't notice the teriyaki plates. I showed up on a Saturday night 20 minutes before closing and my to-go order was assembled and served promptly and courteously - loved that. Some places are so busy getting ready to close (your shift's ending, I feel you) that you feel bad for interrupting, but not here and I appreciated that. The only challenge here is parking. In case it isn't evident by the restaurant name: it's food is rice triangles with different flavors/foods inside them. I wasn't a fan of the short ribs but my friend loved it so mine was finished regardless. All my other triangles were very tasty and after 2 triangles plus edamame, I was stuffed. It was a good amount of tofu, but no flavor.... so strange. The kimchi and the chili sauce in the triangles were SO SPICY! I like spicy food, but I was sweating. So just be warned. Overall, a 3-star place. It's not terrible! I'd eat here again if I need a quick snack. Definitely has the potential to be a 4 or 5 if there were more options and flavors. We especially enjoyed the Flavorful short ribs and pork stuffing. The ume pickled plum was too potent for me. It would have been good mixed with some other flavor. From the pictures of the rice plate I expected to leave somewhat hungry but the quantity of food was good and more importantly the quality was very good. I tried this place on my lunch break. The teriyaki chicken plate was pretty filling. The only thing I would change would be to give a better side salad. The one that I received with the plate was only a few lettuce leaves that was pretty heavy on the dressing. I also tried the spicy tuna triangle and thought it was pretty delicious. These are so good. I've always seen these meal/snacks in Japanese and Korean movies/shows. They are pretty much similar to a spam masubi or handroll, but these onigiri are in a triangular shape. So far I had the pleasure to try out the salmon, chicken teriyaki, spicy kimchi, crab and ahi tuna. I'm sort of addicted as I have already been back to this place three times in a two week span (only because I work in the area).
