Small place with limited seating. The owner was very personable and greeted every diner some of whom he knew by name. The spanakopita was excellent although the portion was small. We had dinner here tonight when we saw it in passing, what a hidden gem this place is! It's in a strip mall and you could easily miss it if not looking for it, but we were looking to try somewhere new and saw it and are very happy we did! My husband loves gyros and after eating there tonight he said he won't order them from the other place he got them again lol. I had a falafel wrap and it was delicious! I give this restaurant a few attempts and every time I'm not satisfied. And they have gotten my order wrong the last two times I've gone. It was a pick up so I didn't notice till I got home. The taste of food is quite mediocre. Dolmades were very dry and not good. However the owner is very pleasant. I may try it again and get something different but I doubt it will change my mind. Wonderful, traditional Greek food, one of the best Greek meals we've had. Fabulous avgolemono soup, fresh warm pitas, flaky spanakopita with perfectly balanced flavors. We tried the sample Maza Platter and were very impressed with everything on the plate. Esh, the owner/chef, was welcoming and friendly and served us with much earned pride and enthusiasm. I must say I was so very disappointed in my food! I have had Many Greek salads in my life and I must say this was the worst One ever. The lettuce was brown in parts there was hardly any Olives, cucumbers and the cheese was just sprinkled in. The chicken Sandwich was not tasty the meat was very dry. The Opa Greek Restaurant was a wonderful experience. Located in a small, strip shopping center, the ambiance of the room and the warmth of the owner made for a lovely evening! There is outside seating as well. The assorted appetizer platter was outstanding! It had hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel and delicious dips. Some of us had Greek salads with gyro. It was plentiful of salad items and meat! A pita gyro was very much enjoyed by another. The seafood salad had crab and shrimp, which were also thoroughly enjoyed. Small little restaurant in a strip shopping center on US 41. My sister and I tried out the Greek salads & gyro specials for lunch one day and it was perfect. Nothing fancy just good Greek food. Little hole in the wall popular with the locals. It is clean but, small. Better to sit outside (even though it's a parking lot view) to avoid claustrophobic feel inside. The service is fair do to the fact that there is only one server; however, that server is extremely nice and hardworking. It's difficult to smile and be friendly under stress and she pulled it off. The food is delicious and AUTHENTIC .. I was surprised at some of the bad reviews questioning the authenticity. Had everything from gyro, spanakopita , Greek salad, etc. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food immensely. The wine list is extremely limited and not appealing; however, it is better than the "happy hour wine" that every restaurant and bar serves here in Naples that people seem to guzzle down. Owner & Chef, Ash, has been on fire every time we visit Opa! It is one of our favorite dining spots when in Naples, FL. Located within walking distance of the famed Fifth Ave, Opa is an exceptional option for Greek food at a reasonable price. Ash is welcoming and friendly, and a good chef to boot! He's particular about who enters his kitchen (just him). This is a real mom & pop operation, with Ash's wife (& occasionally his son) helping out in the front during the dinner time rush. He seems to handle the place very well by himself at other times, doing double duty in the kitchen and dining area. On a recent trip, Ash raved about his rice pudding, so I had to return to give it a try (I'm used to really good rice pudding of a different kind, having grown up in India). Ash promised to have it before I left town, even though it was earlier than his normal seasonal schedule for this dish, and I was not disappointed. The rice pudding was creamy, not overly sweet, and absolutely delicious. A very generous serving, it had this wonderful crunch from macadamia nuts, and sweetness from raisins. Paired with Greek coffee, it was one of those speechless experiences for me! I've also had Ash's kataifi (shredded filo layered with ricotta cheese), which is another insanely delicious dessert. Everything on the menu is cooked to order by Ash. The desserts are all made right there in his kitchen. My wife raved about Opa's Greek salad and salmon, and the traditional gyros and shewarma sandwiches are just right. Ash is in control in the kitchen! We return to his restaurant multiple every year, and despite his very popular neighbor, we've never left Opa disappointed or wishing we had gone elsewhere. read more

Decided to have Greek for lunch, should have known better, good Greek food is hard to find in Naples and this proved no different. The decor and space was clean and the server nice. I assume she was one of the owners as she was the only server and there were 4 tables she was attending too, clearly her job was to take your order bring you a drink and bring out your food when done. If you need a refill for anything else you're out of luck. We ordered 1 gyro sandwich (6.95) 1 Greek pizza (11.00) and a Greek salad with gyro meat added ( 7.95 + 4.95) and a diet soda. Turns out they give you a can of soda ($2.25) . We waited about 20 minutes and the gyro and salad came out, she said the pizza takes longer. So we went ahead and ate without my husband. The gyro was pretty standard, ok for the price, the meat was definitely prepackaged prefrozen and heated. It was not cut from a spit like the photo in the door. The salad was sad. A lot of lettuce 3 1/2 slices of an under ripe tomato and a couple of olives. The dressing was a cheap Italian dressing it was not Greek, The feta appeared to be mixed in but it could've been crumbled, i'm not sure it was fresh either. We hoped the pizza would be the saving grace, certainly it must be special if it took this long to prepare. After about 25 more minutes, we finished our meals and the pizza came out. It was a gyro sized pita bread covered in slop. There was some gyro meat cut up, some olives and the tomatoes or sauce , whatever it was tasted a fermented. The whole thing was covered in cheese and had been broiled. The bottom was a soggy pita. How this took and hour is mind boggling. Waste of money and lunch. read more

Food was okay. Portions were generous. Waitress was reaching over our table to remove extra place settings, which I didn't love anyways, because personal space.... However, she then dumped an entire glass of wine in my husband's lap. That's fine, accidents happen. The proper move would have been to then comp the glass of wine considering he had red wine soaking his pants. That did not happen. Then she also reached to touch my silverware to clear a plate. I was able to grab it before she did. That is not okay, do not touch the utensils I am using. The utensils were on that plate to keep them from touching the dirty table. Not as welcoming as you would have expected from a Greek restaurant and for being the only ones there! Could be seen in cell phone. Not appropriate. Disappointed they did not have taramasalata nor rice pudding. :( We ordered spanakopita and it was good (not like my mom's) warm pita and falafel were good! Opa is just great Greek food, period. The flavors are all excellent. Portions are generous. We enjoy the veg dolmades, the lamb shawarma, and the baba ganouj. Service was pleasant but a little slow on a Saturday lunch. I'm pretty sure the server was also the same guy preparing the food that day. Wow! My husband and I came to visit Naples over Presidents' Day weekend, and we actually ended up eating here twice because we liked it so much. Forget 5th ave - this place is authentic, the owner is incredibly kind and accommodating, and the food is incredible. Try the falafel - it's the best I've ever had! We also love the Greek salad, the lamb chops, and the vegetarian sampler. Everything is so fresh and delicious. ...And if you have any room left, the baklava is a must! The food here is fantastic! They have the best gyros I've ever eaten. The meat actually tasted like lamb which I know it's for everyone, but that's what good gyros are all about. The tzatziki sauce was wonderful and the baklava was just as good. I also had a very nice glass of Greek white wine. The only problem was the service. The gentleman who was working there was certainly working very hard, but he was the only employee there. He was hosting, serving, cooking, delivering food to tables and bussing. Just as I was getting ready to leave some help arrived, but it was a little too late for some of my fellow customers. Some of them had lost their patience and left. I understand, but they sure did miss out on some great food. read more
