I was unimpressed with this place. Upon entry, we were greeted by the hostess which returned as out waitress. We expressed immediately that both myself and both were vegan. Now I understand sometimes people don't know what the word vegan means, so I clarified. She stated she was a also a vegan. I felt reassured that anything we ordered was vegan. We chose to do hummus as our appetizer and we'd order our main dish after our completion. I double checked that the bread that came with the hummus was vegan. The waitress looked me confused and said that she doesn't know. Then stated "yes" all in the same sentence then stood there looking at the both of us. I didn't mean to be rude but I asked if she could go find out. She returned with saying the bread was NOT vegan and she would give us more veggies to compensate. The hummus was good I must say. When we were finished with our hummus, I noticed the waitress which again, also the hostess was running around not asking anyone if they needed anything. Mind you, we went on a Tuesday afternoon. It had a total of six customers, myself and boyfriend included. Finally she returned and asked us what we'd like. I got the falafel wrap and my boyfriend got the lentil soup. When I received my wrap, I was caught off guard when it came with fries. It's suppose to be a middle eastern restaurant? The wrap was just alright and my boyfriend was unimpressed with the soup. Okay, dont get me wrong. I think most of what I get here at OR is delicious. HOWEVER... this is the 3rd time I've been in for lunch over the past couple months, and things should really be changed. First of all... all 3 times I've been there for lunch, there has been ONE frazzled man working. Like, in the whole restaurant. Seating, taking orders, cooking, everything. He is very nice. BUT... for today's visit, it took him forever to notice us to be seated, then he took our appetizer order right then, but didnt come back for our entree orders. There were about 3 other tables at the time. We got our Burning Eggplant appetizer the same time another table of 3 men came in. He took their order and left us to eat our appetizer (which was delicious) and didnt come back to take our entree order until we were almost done with the appetizer. We realized then that he had taken our menus when he put down the burning eggplant, and never gave them back. I asked for my entree wrap with a slight change but it didnt end up coming that way. Oh well. The table of 3 men ate and paid and left before we even got our entrees. I had to literally flag him down a couple times, because he was so frazzled and never came to check on us (keep in mind that this guy was THE ONLY ONE THERE, so he was doing the cooking) Entrees were just meh. I only got 4 smallish pieces of beef in my wrap, and he hadn't done what I asked for, which was put the souvlaki beef into the shwarma wrap (I'm not a huge fan of shwarma beef, but the hummus/tahini combo looked better than the salad in the other one. But he gave me the salad which I always think is too onion-y, so I basically ate the small amount of beef and left everything else) The time before this when I went for lunch was during restaurant week. The special was for 2 wraps and 2 soups. I got soup and a wrap but the 10 year old I was with didnt want soup, so he just got a wrap. When we got our receipt, he had charged me full price for the 2 wraps and the soup, which came out to significantly more than the restaurant week deal... because we had eliminated the 2nd soup... so they wanted to charge us more for giving us less food... when I asked about it he said that we would have had to get the second soup for the deal because that was what was in the computer... I had to argue with him to get the deal which was ridiculous. And again, same one man working, same level of frazzled, even when it was packed during restaurant week!!! That poor man. I hope Oded decides that it might be worth it to hire someone else so this poor guy isnt left alone, because the service is certainly suffering. read more

Excellent meal! Started off with fried cauliflower and the tzatziki as our Maza. Served with soft, warm pita bread for dipping and it was delicious. Two of us had the Chicken Shawarma and it was plentiful so we've got enough for another meal. The chicken was charred perfectly yet still juicy and tender. My son had the Spicy Shrimp over Majadra and he loved it. Dad had the Chicken Kabob over the Saffron Rice and enjoyed it very much. No leftovers for the guys! Just had brunch here and it was awesome. One of the best brunches I have ever had. I had the Moroccan Breakfast at the waitress's suggestion. Everything from the eggs to the lamb sausages was well seasoned and a delight to eat! The service was excellent and I will definitely be back. Brunch is only once a month as of this time. They announce it on Facebook. Make sure to make a reservation as it was very crowded. So nice to see a small local restaurant doing well. read more

The place looks promising but it was a disaster! Not clean, not cooked, not fresh! We tried babaganoush which I gotta say was really good, but it all went downhill after that. We ordered rare Lamb kebab and medium Lamb Souvlaki. The chef is obviously not professional since he cooked both dishes at the same time so rare lamb dish was out before was put aside to wait for the medium lamb dish. Of course, the food came cold and raw as if he only cooked it 2 minutes so that outside was almost brown. We told server that it was really cold and her response was 'It's impossible' Can you believe? She took the food and went back to kitchen while mumbling. The food came back hot but still raw. If anyone knows that rare meat is supposed to look a little bit raw but you can not give RAW MEAT as RARE! Half of the Souvlaki was sour and the other half was not. You could taste that the meat was not fresh! We asked for to-go box for the babaganoush, the box was not clean! We paid 50+$ for raw and rotten meat and an unhygienic experience. read more

I was honestly underwhelmed. Sure.... it's cute inside and the service is friendly..... but the food is not all that great. Three of us started with a bowl of hummus and pita bread to share.... and the hummus was yummy, and the pita fresh and warm. I then had a Greek Salad. The greens were a bit wilted and the toppings mushy, and the dressing kind of weird tasting. And, when I asked if pita came with the salad, the waitress said, "sure.... I can bring you some", but then charged me an additional $1.50 for it. There are much better places for Middle Eastern food in the area. read more

Why why why is the food truck so much better than the restaurant? Why don't they have the Schwarma wrap like he food truck? 4 of us were here last week and all four were disappointed. One single waiter on duty to handle about 5 tables. I suppose that's not too much to ask, but the details went unattended. Water glasses stayed empty. Asking for more of anything was impossible. Now the dinner. We ordered falafel which was the highlight and best part of the meal. The deep fried cauliflower was ordinary at best. You can get it better almost anywhere that has it. The highly touted roasted eggplant app was cold. As in refrigerator cold. As in, they roast them ahead, fridge them and reheat before serving. Except they forgot to reheat ours. Since the sole waiter didn't return until we asked for the check, we didn't get to ask him about it until the end of the meal. "I didn't realize the eggplant app was going to be served cold. " "It was cold? " he asked. " Yes, straight out of the fridge." "Oh, ok" he said. And that was then end of it. The chicken Schwarma salad was significantly overdone. Both of them. Dry, burned around the edges and flavorless. A single spoonful of tahini sauce that was served with it did nothing to save it. The lamb souvlaki was ok, but not great, as was the schnitzel. We didn't get dessert, or, water refills. Go to the food truck for the better food experience. read more

Overpriced, under-serviced and with meh food. If that's all you need to know to make your dining decision, stop reading & go someplace else, you'll be MUCH happier. I'm honestly not sure what the big deal about this place is; everyone raves about it, like as if it some spa experience, but I have yet to have a semi-pleasant experience. I didn't really want to give this most recent incarnation of Falafel Bar a chance, considering I remember what a disaster the Falafel Bar was at another location @ Northtown Plaza a few years ago (more than on a couple occasions, food came out frozen in the center, items were charged on bill that never were ordered, horrific management, etc.), but I was coaxed into giving it another try by well-meaning friends. I've been here three times and the service has consistently been overwhelmed, food comes out cold (when it wasn't supposed to be, mind you), and it's pretty bland anyway, and at the end of the evening you're stuck paying a ton of money for a very unimpressive meal. Why bother? I wish the owner would put as much effort into service & food quality as he did in painting this place up. read more

Ate here last night. Amazing experience! Got the fried cauliflower and baba ganoush for appetizers... both were amazing. They serve it with a house made pita which I have to say is the best pita I've ever had. That's not an exaggeration, it was amazing. We all got the chicken shawarma plates. Everything on my plate was delicious. Got the saffron rice as my starch and it was amazing. It also came with a very refreshing tomato cucumber and onion salad that was super fresh. It had a very tasty light dressing on it with a Mediterranean zing to it. The chicken itself was so good! It was crispy and had the perfect amount of seasoning on it. The food is average, the place is too small, and the prices are too high. A plate of shawarma with choice of starch and salad costs 17$ at this place, and the shawarma is crispy and average quality. You can get better quality shawarma at any other Mediterranean restaurant for half the price. The falafel is good, but also very expensive. I wouldn't recommend going to the restaurant, unless you have too much money to spare. read more

Not a German restaurant, but, the best schnitzel in Buffalo. Tender just like a schnitzel should be. The Greek potatoes are a little different then what you would expect. They are crispy and delicious. The servers were among the best. I highly recommend The Falafel Bar. read more

My husband and I just had a late lunch there. The food was hot, not in spice but in just cooked and served hot. The tea's we ordered, hot, really lovely. We really enjoyed the food, service etc. What we could not understand was the music, Jazz. Why on earth would you play Jazz in a Middle Eastern restaurant. That would be like going to a Chinese restaurant and having Scottish bag pipes playing. Also the music was so loud hard to talk. Great place if you can handle the music. read more

Ordered this on Uber eats. We got a falafel wrap, a shawarma wrap, and a three sisters wrap. The fries were soggy and cold. The falafel was also soggy rather than having a crispy outside. The eggplant inside the three sisters wrap was bitter. The shawarma was good. I think the wraps are slightly overpriced for what you get too. Not terrible but I won't be back. read more
