So me and my husband live right around the corner and we always see this breakfast spot and think to try it. And we finally did, we were not disappointed one bit. I always look places up on yelp to look at the menu because I guess I'm weird like that haha, and luckily read some reviews that is was cash only so we were prepared. To our surprise the server was extremely nice and attentive, we didn't ask for much as we came in and already know what we wanted but she continued to ask if our food came out good and if we need a refill on coffee. I got the "For the Hearty Appetite" and a short-stack pancake. Specified for eggs over-medium and home fries well done, both came out perfect just the way I wanted. You also got 2 pieces of toast cut in half and 4 pieces of bacon, all that is AMAZING for only $5. Pancakes were also delicious and perfectly cooked. My husband got a turkey melt, which he absolutely loved also. For a small breakfast place located in Tamarac it was great, better than going to a Dennys or IHOP. They asked for my drink order as soon as I touched my chair. This place is CASH only. Has a real old time diner feel to it. There's a tv for entertainment. The food was really good. I got the big breakfast which comes with 3 eggs, your choice of meat, grits or home fries, toast, and a cup of juice for only 6.75! They charge .25 extra for all takeout orders. If you want to have great breakfast cooked by a southern african american and white rude staff then this is your place. Tips for making sure staff is not rude to you: 1) do not ask any questions 2) When you get the menu do not take too long to look at it 3) after knowing what you want they and they come over to ask you what you want they will snatch the menu and you will need to remember what you wanted because they will not let you use the menu to point out what you want 4) Be assertive because if you are unsure of what you want you will get a dirty look or a smart ass comment 5)Make sure you do not drink your drink prior to getting your food because they dont come back to ask how is the food or to give you a refill and if you ask for a refill the look they give you will want to make you commit suicide 6) Eat and get out fast. This place is definitely awesome. They are the only place I know that service Taylor ham. It's kind of small and hard to find seating if you come in the morning after church hours. But on the weekday you shouldn't have any problem getting a table. But most of the time when I go in I could usually find a spot at the bar. I prefer to eat at the bar with a full view of my food being made. Also I get more attention and better service sitting close. The The menu is good there's a lot of items nothing is over $10. Delicious! The menu is diverse with all of the breakfast choices I would want. One woman grills keeps the food flowing with their hearty serving constantly moving. They were very busy but attentive to everyone. The team runs! I recommend getting there early or you will wait in one of the chairs on the walkway. I don't understand people this is not a $10 plate breakfast Why complain. It's a $5 max breakfast per plate which includes the juice. The food was pretty good. Nothing special. Great small family owned diner type restaurant, great for an inexpensive but well made breakfast. The service and quality seemed to go down a bit after the owner passed away, but we've been going here for years and will continue. If you come on a weekend you will wait for a table, but usually not too long as they move the tables fast. The food is consistently well cooked, and is the usual breakfast fare, made quickly and to your specific order. The wait staff are all women, and usually are efficient and fast. Anyone can have an off day, but more often then not we are well pleased with our meals and it is very inexpensive. If you are looking for a homey type diner breakfast that reminds you of the bagel places in New England, than this is for you. If you are not a fan of those, then you might be happier at Denny's. Just saying, this is a small, intimate setting and you can watch your breakfast being made right there if you sit at the counter. Four stars because they do tend to try to turn the tables over quickly, and sometimes I feel too rushed at my meal because there are people waiting for a table. Also we are not coffee drinkers, we drink tea, so we have to make sure the waitress coming around with the coffee pot to pour refills doesn't top off our tea!
