What a sweet little place that I always look forward to visiting on our trips to Lake Placid. Such nice baristas, simple but very nice decor. They have some breakfast items... pastries, toast sandwiches. It's usually busy when I come early morning but most of the people are doing take out, so when I sit with my coffee it's relaxing and quiet. I love their Latte with cardamom and real maple syrup. Just pictures of my latte... delicious from beginning to end.

This place is right on Main Street in downtown Lake Placid. Perfectly located, great coffee house vibe. Lovely menu selections. Really nice and friendly staff! I had the matcha and my boyfriend had a lavender latte. Both drinks were so good! Nothing is better than when the first sip of coffee hits you just right! The drinks were made very fast we did not have to wait long at all. Will definitely go to Origin Coffee again when I'm downtown!

Looks like an old library card catalogue sort of (nice decor for toppings).

We came here on a Saturday morning and the line was to the door. Definitely a tourist hot spot. Not only was the line to the door but the actual dining area was packed. The line moved fast, we waited maybe 5-10 minutes for two hot drinks and an order of avocado toast. All delicious and made accurately. The line dissipated quickly but still no place to sit, standing room only with patrons waiting for items, so we took our stuff to go. The dining area is beautiful and modern, definitely a sweet hangout spot to enjoy, early mornings or weekdays when it's not the rush hour.

Great cold brew and very cute place! The line was long (almost out the door) when we got there, but they were very efficient behind the counter and got our cold brews right away. Would definitely consider coming back to try some of their food and sit down in there to enjoy the atmosphere.

We were road tripping and in need of a healthy option in Lake Placid. Admittedly there were slim pickings, but Origin was great!! Latte was good - Asked for unsweetened and still got honey which wasn't ideal. Avocado toast was *amazing*! The roasted red pepper spread was remarkable, and the bread was also super yummy. Would recommend highly if you're visiting the first time!!

Open early, I was here for Saturday morning coffee. After finding parking, the place was rather busy with a constant flow of customers. I enjoyed my cortado (excellent!) and worked out a plan of attack for Lake Placid on their wifi. Sitting at the counter is my recommendation so you can see into the kitchen and watch the baristas try to keep up. [Review 1595 of 2024 - 509 in New York - 22618 overall]

What a cute coffee shop! It was busy as we walked in which is a great sign. But the line moved quickly. They have sandwiches to order and baked goods in a case(we got there mid morning so not much left). I opted for their Sweater Weather Latte and got it iced. The drink consisted of local maple syrup, cardamon, cinnamon, espresso and steamed milk. This was a perfect drink for a fall day which it felt like as we left to head home. Friendly and efficient service. I can't wait to head back to try more items when we return next year for our yearly trip.

One of the best cappuccinos I've ever had. And I've had a lot of good ones in a lot of famous coffee places.

I have a bit of a story about Generations. Seven years ago,…read moremy family stopped in while visiting Lake Placid and, unfortunately, it was a pretty rough experience. After waiting over an hour for our food with no updates in sight, we finally left hungry and declared we'd never return. (We've all made dramatic vacation proclamations before!) When we got home, I wrote to the restaurant, and Natasha, the manager, personally responded with a sincere apology. She explained they had been incredibly short-staffed and invited us to come back if we were ever in Lake Placid again, promising a better experience. Well, seven years later, my sons found themselves in Lake Placid with friends and decided to give Generations another chance. They asked if Natasha was still there, and amazingly, she was! Not only that, but she remembered my email from all those years ago. This time, everything was wonderful. Great food, attentive service, a relaxing outdoor table, and happy young men!--which is review enough! To top it all off, when they asked for the check, they were told the meal was on the house. Natasha's kindness, grace, and commitment to making things right left a lasting impression. Thank you for turning a not-so-great memory into a great one. Cheers to Natasha and the team at Generations!

Not worth the wait. Gave our name and they said 25 minutes…read morewe were fine with that. A table stood empty the entire time we waited. Serval more opened within those 25 minutes and sat empty. . My daughter had the chicken sandwhich she said it was good. Mojito mocktail & my ST Germain spritz were very good. I ordered the lobster tacos, I was asked fries or chips I said fries no salt he said they come into the restaurant seasoned. I said chips then he said they also seasoned I can substitute salad. Was surprised when the salad came out and it was in its own dish not on the side of the plate. There was a charge of $3 dollars for the salad on the bill I questioned the server and he said there is a fee for substitutions it is stated in the menu. My menu was closed when I placed the order. I didn't ask he told me he can substitute. When he told me he can substitute he should have mentioned that there was a fee.

Fantastic food; great Adirondack-themed decor; and a really good variety of food. We were so happy…read moreto find this restaurant while we were in Lake Placid!! We went back two days in a row. Besides the super cute decor, they have a good Happy Hour, a connected gourmet market with lots of offerings and even a really fun kids' play area in part of the restaurant (kitchen play set to keep the kids interested during meal time). I had a delicious lobster roll--with a choice of fries, sweet potato fries or the most delicious homemade onion rings. The Dack Burger that my husband had was fantastic with lots of toppings. I highly recommend Dack Shack!!

I'm so sad to leave a poor review, but there were multiple problems with my groups experience…read more Our server was attentive and friendly, however made multiple errors - they forgot an appetizer entirely, three entrees came out late, and a side was late and incorrect. Drinks were messed up and orders had to be repeated about 3 separate times. The restaurant was not busy, so I'm unsure how this could've happened. Some of the food was good - those who got the french dip sandwiches enjoyed it, as well as the wings. However, the black bean burger and beef stroganoff were average. It didn't blow us out of the water. The stroganoff had good flavor but was sitting in a pool of oil so that put some people off. I am visiting town, but unfortunately I would not come again if I return to Lake Placid due to the disorganization, errors, long wait for food and lack of food quality to make up for the prior problems.
