Health food - you either like them or you don't. Let me make this simple. The food here is very good for you, all made from fresh ingredients and yes, very tasty as well. We came to Houston a few weeks ago, the week they opened their shop and boy were we glad that they did. We ordered a couple of their dinner bowls and wow, delicious! Even ordered PB & J Greek yogurt for breakfast the next day. Refrigerated of course! It was delicious and very filling. Now, we're back in Houston again so tonight, we're going Chop Shop shopping again for dinner. We don't seem to mind that too much! Update: December 1st, 2021 We ordered online for pickup last night. It was very quiet there. Anyway, I ordered the Shrimp bowl, a Club sandwich for my wife, a fruit drink and a couple of cookies for dessert. I must say that the amount of shrimp in the bowl was surprising! It was loaded with them - enough to literally have a shrimp in every bite, and it was heavenly! It was a little spicier than I wanted but it's on me. I did pick the item on the menu. My wife enjoyed her tasty sandwich, and we shared the cookies. Both were decadently delicious as well! Based on what I saw last night, unless the shop is doing a brisk business at lunch time, there was not anybody else in the shop except for the employees. So, please people, go and eat at this place. Their location is ideal. They're right off San Felipe, half-a block west of Post Oak boulevard right in the middle of the Galleria. Order online and pick it up - it's so easy! Original ChopShop just opened up on San Felipe next to Chase Bank. I actually came on the last day of their soft opening. I ordered the Sweet Soy Steak bowl with brown rice. It was really good! Next time I'm gonna try the bowl with the sweet potato hash. I came with a coworker and she ordered the grinder sandwich. It was really big, she couldn't finish it, but she said she really enjoyed it. We both ordered the Cool Down juice. It was okay, really heavy ginger flavour so probably not one I'd try again. And both our juices were different colours. Came back again and this time I got the grilled steak sandwich. It was okay. The sandwich was much smaller than I anticipated and the steak was really chewy so it was a tad tough to eat. Probably won't get it again. Overall since this place is still fairly new, there's definitely still kinks and inconsistencies but I'll for sure be back! read more

First of all they do not take cash. While they bring your order to your table you get your own drink. They serve their bowls of rice and vegetables in a paper bowl with a plastic fork. All for $14. Plus they ask for a tip at check out. read more

Overall, their food is good. The employees' attitudes have improved. Remember site managers: even if your restaurant has good food, the service and the attitude are attached to it. My company participates in the Lunch Drop program and today is Original ChopShop. I am sitting here eating the Thai coconut chicken bowl with brown rice. I have to say I wasn't expecting it to be this good. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned well, love love the coconut sauce. The food is good but I'm extremely disappointed with the service. They messed up my order 2 separate times, I got all the way home and they put the wrong dressing on my salad and forgot to give me the pita chips that came with my boyfriends order. They only gave us coupons the first time for their restaurant-told us to drive all the way back there to get them. I gave them a few chances but their service is unprofessional. They took forever to make the food and were hiding under the counter talking and joking around. We will have to go out of our way to get our refund tomorrow and we will not be going back. Usually to-go orders in many many restaurant, they asked for your name because they WILL call you when the order is ready. As someone who is health conscious, I was excited and overwhelmed with excitement over all of the delicious options! A great place to go to if you want to eat salads, bowls, sandwiches, breakfast choices, açaí bowls and more without feeling guilty. Everything is fresh and focused on good for you ingredients! Wonderful service too! You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. The employee helping me was so patient and happily walked me through the menu and told me popular recommendations. Tried red chili lime shrimp bowl thinga ma jig, and it was pretty tasty. I really enjoyed the flavor combination from the sweet and spicy chili lime sauce to the perfectly cooked and seasoned shrimp. I swear I tasted Ginger in the mix. Only thing I wish the veggies were cooked just a tad longer. I'm all for keeping the nutrients, but the carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower were downright crunchy lol. Sweet potatoes and mushrooms were a great addition and brown rice was fluffy, not heavy. Excellent food and reasonable price. The bowl size is perfect for lunch and a good combination of vegetables meat and other ingredients . I had the Thai coconut chicken bowl with forbidden rice. Forbidden rice is a black rice ( just in case you, like me, do not know) . The sauce was a little spicy, just enough for me to get the taste without having too much burn. We ate on the terrace. The terrace is under the arcade with a view on the parking, fully in the shade and we were lucky to have a good breeze so it was very nice. read more
