One of the 5 locations of Napoli Flying Pizza, the Beechnut location is a top notch family-style Italian restaurant. Despite being part of a chain, it has a very cozy/comfortable feel with friendly waitstaff and great service. The same lady seems to always serve us and is sweet and clearly, hardworking. The pizza is one of our favorites in Houston- thin crust, NY style, with just enough sauce and cheese. Fantastic dough that will make you want to devour the crust. This great dough mirrors their other bread- their rolls are beyond delectable, the melt in your mouth yeasty kind. A favorite pie is mushroom and pepperoni, baked extra crispy- heaven in a cardboard box. We tried some of their pasta dishes recently and were very impressed- i chose a heart healthy linguine dish with olive oil, mushrooms, garlic, sun dried tomatoes that was ridiculously good. A bit pricey, but i'll definitely order it again! They serve the classics- piccatta, marsala, lasagna. The heart healthy menu is a nice option. The salads are pretty standard, nothing spectacular and their wine options are adequate although limited. If you're in the Meyerland/Bellaire area, this place is one of the best for pie and pasta- NY Pizzeria is its closest (proximity-wise also) competition. read more

I ordered food from the Napoli Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar By Papa Zack on Beechnut st. and I didn't enjoy it at all. I decided to take a chance on this restaurant after I found out they delivered to my area. The food once it got here was cold and was wrapped in plastic bags and foil with plastic lids, which caused for most of the heat to escape. The items I ordered were the entree Chicken Parmigiana that included a salad and dressing and the Tiramisu cake. First off, the entree was luke warm and rubbery. The Chicken wasn't fresh at all and tasted manufactured. The pasta was ok and the sauce was great however the salad and salad dressing was every bit of mediocre. I didn't think it was possible for salad dressing to taste like absolutely nothing. After enduring the tragic entree (which made me sick a few hours later) I tried the Tiramisu cake which was the worse cake I've ever ate in my life. The cake was still frozen and the ice crystals in it watered the taste down so much so that it made the filling taste like paste. All in all I would never order from this place again because after this experience I'm afraid to try anything else on their menu. read more

We had the most awesome experience when we did the 90 minute cooking lesson with Papa Zack!! First of all he explains the process and rituals while taking you the kitchen...we had the opportunity to prepare 4 chicken dishes and had more than our fill to take home. I especially liked that I wasn't in the kitchen slaving and getting exhausted...Papa catered to us and we learned about food. His lessons were enriching and his family was very kind. I usually like their calzones but Napoli has been very hit-and-miss in my experience. On our prior visit we really liked our ravioli special. A week later we ordered the same special and it was off. I hope management actually learns to listen to feedback and improve matters versus blaming customers for bad experiences while posting identical 5 star reviews for all their locations (flagged and removed due to complaints). The foods alright. The bread is good, the pizzas and toppings are just fine. It's hard to get over the staff or the owner though. The staff are usually Russians who don't care and cycle through every 6 months to 2 years and the owner is a complete ass. You'd be best off elsewhere. read more

SKIMPS ON PIZZA TOPPINGS The flavor is good, they're local, and I want to support them. But they skimp horribly on pizza toppings. Wish I could show you the picture we took of our most recent large pizza. Thirteen pepperoni slices on a large pizza. That's 1.5 slices of pepperoni per piece--and remember, this is the largest pizza they make. I guess I expect three slices per piece at a minimum--and preferably four. We ordered two identical pizzas, and they were both the same, so we can't claim an isolated case here. They have a lovely outdoor patio, and have worked hard to improve the interior. It is beginning to be a cute place. But they have to provide basic value in their product, or the decorating won't be worth it. read more

Used to go there all the time, however for the past year every time I go it's very disappointing. Tonight no exception ordered two Tiramisu dessert to go. Got home and open and the first piece had a huge MOLD all over it. The second look like the top was scrapped. Went back to Napoli and was told no manager on duty that I can come back tomorrow to talk to a manager. Did get a refund though. I was shocked as the staff never apologized nor care. I was treated as if it was my fault and felt that I had to be the one to make it right. Will NEVER GO BACK. Very disappointing of the MOLD issue and how it was handle. What can you expect with no manager on duty. WOW hourly running the restaurant. Instead of slim in the ice machine it's MOLD on food. read more

I'll start with my favorite, which is their decadent cannolis! I don't think I've ever tried a cannoli anywhere else prior to this, but I'd bet money that this is as good as they get. I tried 1 at another local pizza shop similar to this 1, & I'm sure I won't make that mistake ever again. The shell/crust was very fresh & absolutely perfect, but the part that I can hardly put in to words is the amazing feeling that they are very generous with. There is more than enough 2 have a large proportion with every bite of the shell, & still have lots left on your plate (which I find myself scraping off every little bit that remains!) It reminds me of when my mom makes homemade whipped cream, which you can tell is homemade & you just know it is the best the world has to offer. I'm very picky about desserts made with cream cheese. The other pizza place had filling that was too cream cheesy for my taste, but Napoli's is absolutely perfect, which to me means that you can't really tell if it contains cream cheese. The pizza here is really good, although I think the crust has gone to a rather extreme level of thinness...no pizza should have crust that is literally paper thin! A simple slice of cheese pizza can't hold its weight...can't imagine how I would have gone about picking up a slice to eat it if I had actual toppings on it too ! But it was delicious. The food we ordered and had delivered was right on time and good. My problem with them is their misleading advertising. They tell you with a $30.00 order that you get a free cannoli. It shows a $3.95 discount, so it is free. The issue is when they deliver it the size is much smaller than the ones you pay for.
