We were seated and waited a LONG time to be served at all. They took our order and we had to ask for rolls. The salads came out and two bites into the salad we got our steaks. Waitress was very inexperienced in delivering food at the right time. Every steak at the table was overcooked. Medium rare to rare prime rib was more like medium well done. We will NOT be going back. I was so excited when my friend suggested Roadhouse Grill as we left Eugene for Portland. I thought it was just like Texas Roadhouse, which I have enjoyed twice in Nampa, Idaho. This was similar in concept, but nothing near the quality that I expected. We initially sat in the bar, but the booth was so tight to both us of us that we moved to a table. We were told by our server that they had no red wine. Huh? No red wine??? I had water. Loss sales! There was no line dancing which was fun at the Texas version. The peanut shells were scattered on the floor as I guess they are okay with that. I am used to a bag of peanuts with a container to put the shells in. The music was great, but that was the only good part. My steak ordered Medium Rare was Medium Well at best...closer to Well Done. The seasoning was odd. It seemed too strong. The salad was okay, but the container of dressing was on its side, spilling the dressing on the salad. The rolls had an odd taste. I love these from my past Texas Roadhouse version. But these were inedible. The crew looked unhappy. There were no smiles or conversations ongoing. When we left we walked by our server who didn't say a word?? But the hostess did make a point to say thanks and good night. Upon entering the parking lot, I noticed 2 of the 3 lights on the sign not working. Omg I HIGHLY recommend this place our waiter was named Ashley and was so kind!! she did an outstanding job made sure we were all good and checked in with us frequently was super friendly and kind and made it a welcoming atmosphere and I'm thankful for that also she makes hands down some of the best drinks I've ever had in my life especially the strawberry lemonade. We just left The Original Roadhouse Grill, and unfortunately this will likely be our last visit. Our server was noticeably rude, and her only explanation was that they are using a new ordering app. Our starter arrived after the main dish, and when we tried to address it, the server said there was nothing she could do instead of offering an apology. The manager stepped in, but even then, there was no acknowledgment or apology for the poor service. Overall, the experience lacked basic customer service, and we left very disappointed. By the way it my very first to comment in yelp. Hope the Management can read this and do something to improve their customer service. read more

My husband were able to treat ourselves to lunch yesterday and choice the original roadhouse. what a mistake that was. it's not often we get to treat ourselves like this with prices of everything being so high. we arrived on asat at noon. there were only two ther parties having lunch. That should have been our first clue we were seating and left without menus, water or their famous bread for a long time. The waitress finally came and handed us menus and walked away. They were filthy and crumbs fell out when I opened mine. She came and just stood looking at us without a word. Finally my husband asked for water. Then she asked if we wanted peanuts or bread. they normally just bring these things without asking, I thought was strange but no big deal. The bread was stale and cold. That's the one thing I look forward but not today, they were really bad. I ordered a steak and the cook butterflied! I asked for A1 sauce and she brought a little cup of sauce that was not A1 it was some knockoff brand and the silverware is what a catering company would use as throwaway silverware. a step up from plastic. The place is busy so that was a good sign. I was part of a big party so it took a while for our food to come but the kids got their food real quick and were almost done we got our food. The food was good. The Mac and cheese, broccoli and baked potato were stand out sides to get. My brother really enjoyed the ribs and sausage and I enjoyed my steak. The ribs sauce coated with sauce were tender and a great BBQ flavor without being over spicy. She then only came to the table once during the entire meal After we had to flag her down. The food runner brought out the app and both entrees. She then brought out the check while we were finishing up the entree and walked away, not asking if we wanted to order any dessert or another round of drinks. I had family in town celebrating my daughter & niece's high school graduation. It was during the ceremony when people started asking what the plans were afterwards. Many had driven in that day, but our plans were focused on planning a party the next day. In the moment I made a command decision and called to make a group reservation for 15 to meet for a 9:15 pm dinner. We scooted out of the ceremony to beat the crowd and traffic, and made it just in time. I got a confirmation call as I pulled into the parking lot and was welcomed with our tables ready. Our server congratulated my niece on her graduation and was gracious and welcoming to the family. We added another table when my daughter and her friends arrived. This spot is solid, and I'll definitely come back. Today was an off day I think. It wasn't so busy, but I felt the service was lacking just a bit. We got sat pretty quickly, and our server took our drinks right away. She came back and then took our food order, I ordered salmon, and my girlfriend ordered a bacon wrapped filet. This restaurant is like Texas roadhouses twin, you get the rolls and honey butter and you can throw your peanut shells on the floor. The rolls were perfect as always, fresh and hot and the butter is to die for. I dug into my salmon when it came out. Unfortunately it was over cooked and quite dry, but the bbq glaze was fantastic! The baked potato was really good, and the broccoli was cooked perfectly. My girlfriend's steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly and she loved it. Food was mid grade . We waited to be seated which is normal but after we were seated it too 30 minutes for our waitress to come to our table to get drinks started. When the food arrived the waitress just started handing plates to us on the end to be passed down the table there was no table beside ours it was a main walkway so it was not good service. Let me start out by saying that the customer service here is outstanding! The waitress was welcoming and offered suggested as well as cracked a few jokes. Great team dynamic amongst staff as they all seem to get along. The portions were also great and I ended up taking food to go. The dinner rolls with butter are delicious and melt in your mouth! Something that I was very pleased with was the size of the fountain drinks for a great value, not to mention free refills. I ordered the original roadhouse burger and it was delicious, the vegetables were fresh and crispy and the fries were cooked to perfection. Only recommendation for this restaurant would be some minor repairs/upgrades in the restroom. The food was hot and served pretty quickly but there were only three tables of folks. Server was pleasant and attentive. I got the rib eye cooked as I ordered--I topped it with some blue cheese and should have scraped it off into the Mac n cheese. The side of steamed broccoli was perfectly cooked. The macaroni n cheese was fresh and cheesy but not much flavor. They could have maybe added a zesty cheese, but with some roughly cracked black pepper I was satisfied. Food: Three people sat down for dinner tonight. One meal with salmon another meal ribs and the third meal grilled chicken. The grilled chicken was so dry it could only be eaten with two glasses of water to choke 1/2 of it down ( other half was inedible), the mashed potatoes had a consistency more like gravy then actual mashed potatoes and the taste was just odd, hard to explain! The green beans had a very slimy texture and were raw inside..... they were fairly disgusting. The salmon was overcooked , my friend said it was strange that it smelled and tasted fishy.... which is not good! The ribs her friend had were the only edible thing that arrived with dinner and they were OK . The service was excellent. The young lady helping us was very sweet, A+, however never offered any compensation only asked if we wanted to order dessert or something more, which was an absolute no. I hear that bison is the thing to try here. As I was starved, I didn't much feel like being adventurous. It was a risk that I would end up with a dish I didn't enjoy and be hungry. Their special menu featured baby back ribs, so I went for that--full rack. For the two sides, I opted for the baked potato and the roasted vegetables. The two sides were delicious. The fully loaded potato was cooked to perfection. I was expecting a scoop of vegetables every time I see it as a menu item. However, they were cooked on a skewer. Hot, but not over-cooked and had a bit of a char. Delicious. Thinking back, I should've gone with the half rack; the full was just too much given the generous sides. As for the ribs, they were tender but I could tell from the taste that it was probably precooked some days ago and warmed up on the grill. Refrigerated cooked meat has an off taste. My companions ordered bison ribs, a pork chop and chicken. According to them, the bison is lean and delicious. It has a richer flavor than beef but not necessarily gamey. You can choose the doneness of the pork chop, so it was plenty juicy when it's medium -well. The chicken was a bit dry but was flavorful. Having a big appetite is a plus here. I ordered the Whiskey Salmon. The salmon was overly salty with the rub, over cooked and had a really, really strong fish taste that was obviously not fresh. My daughter and husband both tried it and both thought it was terrible. They did offer to remake it, but you can't make the fish taste fresh by cooking another piece. My daughter said dunking it in the sauce made it a little better for her. I left most of the salmon on the plate- could not finish it! She ordered the steak and we all laughed about how it was so tiny. About the size of a silver dollar. Just not impressed for 5 people our dinner with tip was $170. I expected better.
