This place has it all! Dive-ish country vibe with a bunch of local regular's, but everyone is welcomed! There's a plethora of TV's, even little ones at each table for your personal viewing pleasure! The staff are always friendly and attentive. They have some bomb BBQ, smoked right outside! There's a wonderful patio out back that has a fire pit and ton of seating, which is great in the summer! In the winter, there's a smoking section with a nice heater and TV for sports. Highly recommend! read more

They wouldn't serve me bc my 3 yr old id that is current and valid flaked a little on the corners and they said it was invalid. I have a valid out of state id and they told me to go find a drink elsewhere in town. I would not even bother with this place, even the locals said they suck. read more

I don't even know where to begin. While I understand that mistakes happen, the consistent negativity and lack of professionalism make it impossible for me to recommend this restaurant. I've given them multiple chances to redeem themselves, but each visit has only reinforced the initial impression: the service is simply unacceptable. They are extremely rude and on their phones. Save yourself the aggravation and choose a different establishment where you'll be treated with respect and receive competent service. Ridiculous. read more

This is a bar with a side of food. The smell and language is that of an old hole in the wall bar. If you enjoy or feel comfortable in that atmosphere this might be a place to eat. A Dark room smelling of stale cigarettes smoke, old beer , bar side seating and conversations peppered with rough language is not BBQ Pork Sliderssomewhere I wanted to eat. We arrived and knew to seat ourselves when we were ignored for a couple of minutes. The servers don't even take turns ignoring you if you are not a regular. The food wasn't good. I told my friend they served us a "don't come back" meal. Fries seemed to be lightly dabbed in the oil. The really great things is they treated the kids the same as the adults. Went to the bar this evening.. had high hopes as had heard good things! 3 staff working, all super rude. Never offered service (had to ask for everything we needed) often times ignored/or didn't verbally respond when asked for something. Appeared annoyed. This local establishment is doing everything right to keep us in a safe environment while enjoying a delicious lunch. There is a sign at the entrance " "if you do not have a mask, we will provide you with one. " At every door, there is hand sanitizer. Out doors in the rear of the restaurant are large tables in the shade of an old oak tree, as well as other tables in the area where 6 could enjoy social distances. Also, there are misters on the lawn helping folks keep cool. There is also a fire pit ready to light on those cooler evenings. The quality of food as well as amount is over the top good! We are enjoying being back outside for a nice respite from cooking once a week. The tri tip dip sandwich we enjoyed sharing is our suggested meal you just might love. read more

Back in my 20's I seem to recall spending a fair amount of time at the post, and always had a good time. Fast forward to my mid 40's---- The service takes a long time. If you have the pleasure os sitting anywhere near the kitchen then you will most likely hear the staff in there cussing up a storm and yelling. Not fighting or in anger, but just having fun I presume. Not a good look when you see a cook walk into the bathroom wearing his apron. The place is just dirty. The floors are awful and the place needs a good rodgering. This was the last time i will step into the joint. read more

Not a family friendly environment. Definite bar vibe. Lots of loud cursing. I realize Friday's are probably one of their busiest nights but they should staff and stock the salad bar accordingly. We ordered the Friday night special... prime rib served with onion rings, salad and a baked potato for $22. Although it wasn't seasoned very well, the prime rib itself was good. Cooked properly and well portioned. The onion rings were burned and the salad bar was a joke! There were no fresh greens to add to the standard packaged iceberg lettuce mix, the tomatoes were diced and tasted old. Aside from the canned olives and diced belpepper, there were no other veggies. The baked potato was our favorite part of the meal... Yes I know... The service was terrible, we were there over an hour and the waitress checked on us once... She did a drive by; asked if we were doing okay as she walked past us to service the table behind us. Needless to say, we won't be returning. read more

We stopped by for lunch and sat in the quasi-outside area complete with big screen televisions and heaters. Everyone seemed to know everyone else. If I lived closer I would come by more often. read more

I have had friends come here regularly to have a bite to eat and hang out. So I pulled in one day, expecting a good burger and a brew and a chance to relax. Well....the bacon cheeseburger was good. The beef was juicy and flavourful, the toppings were plentiful, and the bun was nice and moist and whatnot. Personal preference, I ordered curly fries and expected your typical fried curly fries, but I got a whole potato essentially peeled around a spiral cutter, put in oil, and served on a plate. I am not a fan of that type of french fry, and I admit it's a personal preference, but I left almost all of my fries on the plate. I was disappointed that after being checked on immediately after my food arrived, I was left alone in my booth with no future contacts. Over the course of an hour and and fifteen minutes, I had one beer. When I finally got my waitresses attention, I just gave her my credit card so I could pay and leave, rather than wait for another round. Maybe I'm spoiled by local bars that attend to me whenever my glass runs low...but I really kind of wanted more than one beer for my lunch. It makes me not want to go back, even if they have a really cool massive burger challenge thing. I just don't have the energy to care, honestly. read more

I found this place due to a stop sign and The aroma of beautiful BBQ. Stopped for lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere from walking through the front door. The types of food is what you expect but the food was done well. Tasty and plentiful, and enjoyable music and service. Every aspect was enjoyable. A bit loud but it radiated people having fun. In an age of so much chaos and despair seeing this was good for the soul. read more

If your hungry do NOT come here. It'll take at least an hour and half. We asked for a bucket of beer a day was told they weren't sure the bar tender would like that. We wait 45 min for a bucket of beer. Tables were dirty and a hamburger took 2 hours to get. Once we finally got our food we asked for ranch, ketchup and napkins. Never got them THEN when we were completely done I asked the waitress (who, no joke, had a cigarette hanging out of her mouth) to take our dirty dishes: SHE STACKED THEM IN THE BUCKET OF ICE AND LEFT THEM WHILE STAYING "That should work". The food is always good but they need to train their servers to be nicer. We came in today and remarked that it was a little chilly and the bartender/server said, "we keep it cold because we move our asses in here, go get a coat!" I asked for real sugar-never got it and had to ask for a refill on my coffee. We shared and order and it was nice they put it on two plates. I don't know maybe they were having a bad day but my friend and I won't be going in there again if they're serving. Smile ladies, at least act like you like working there. The Hitchin' Post is a great casual bar to hang out at. I know they have had some ownership/management changes in the past year or so - but it seems like everything is ironed out now. The staff is super friendly, personable, and prompt. We had their wings on Monday night, they were delicious! I was initially disappointed they didn't have buffalo sauce as an option, but their other sauces were good. Try them. read more
