I just want to say how much i Love this Tommys in Monrovia. I've been going here since 5 years ago when I was working nearby and I found out Tommys breakfast sandwich! I love their Breakfast Sandwich aside from their delicious burgers. Anyway besides their food I think they have such great team and crew, very friendly, attentive and gives great service especially Maria. I'm not sure what the attraction is with Tommys. I have eaten at Tommys a few times over the years. I had a burger last night and it was thin and terribly dry. Went there last night, from the get go the woman with the dyed blonde just got on the mic and sounded annoyed, seriously if you hate your job so much quit!..... She sounded so unfriendly and like she did care I knew my order was going to be messed up. And sure enough it was. I told her while ordering I wanted a number one with no tomatoes, onions, pickles, just the patties cheese and chili that's all she responds oh plain, yes.Then while I'm paying she walks asks me you wanted just a plain burger right? No, I want chili and cheese on it. After that she closes the window, and walks away like annoyed I'm there. They still give me a burger with just two patties, no cheese or chili. I never knew Tommy's was about the chili. Interesting. But I'm not really a chili person. Chili fries really look like someone had an accident on them. But you know, after heavy drinking, greasy chili ain't so bad. Just mayonnaise the cheese, and patty and obviously the buns lol I made sure to repeat myself a few times because our cashier looked like she had NO IDEA what she was doing. First timer here. I got the double cheeseburger (it comes with chili in it) and chili cheese fries at the DRIVE THRU Double cheeseburger - I would put it at the same level as Carl's Jr burgers. It was filling and a decent burger. Although, I'd rather have the Jack in the box Buttery Jack or In-n-out burgers. But overall, it's good and messy. Chili cheese fries - Holy chili! I've been going to Tommy's for over 20 years. My favorite is the original in LA. But I literally live 2 minutes away from the one in Monrovia so we go there when we have a craving and little time. The past 3 times I've gone the service and food have been horrible. I ordered $45 worth of food and every single item was wrong. Another time we ordered 6 burgers only and they were all cold and the patty tasted like it was burnt and cooked on a dirty grill. I'm so disappointed because I spend my money and always have such high expectations for Tommy's. No one wants to eat cold chili. Tommy's always served food at such high quality. The warm chili was a staple. Now I'll think twice if I go back to the one in Monrovia I don't know if it's new management or what's going on. But it's very sad to see. read more

I have to admit, a piece of my heart broke off when the Fatburger in Monrovia closed down, but I was able to glue that piece back on when Tommy's opened up down a few streets and around a few corners. Very convenient location on Huntington and Mountain (easy freeway access). Open until 1am on weekdays (READ THAT, PASADENA TOMMY'S?!?!?). Food just as good as the original in Rampart. Best of all, it's close enough to my M-Town base that I can grab a chili cheese fries in the drive thru, race home in enough time for the cheese to be perfectly melted, and still warm enough that it's not cold and gross. Only reason this one gets 4 stars is because it can't top the original or have it on equal planes. read more

Every time I get to Monrovia to visit my family, the first thing I do is ask "When are we going to Tommy's?" This place has the most Phenominal chili burgers on the planet! This chili is oooey gooey, rich and smooth and tastes like none other! I always get the Double Cheeseburger with EXTRA chili and an order of Chili Cheese Fires. I love Tommy's but during a pandemic it's really annoying that you can't place an order over the phone. They said I can only order through Postmates or door dash. I don't think it would be that hard to take an order over the phone and pick it up once I get there rather than wait in line and cause additional traffic in their drive thru. I haven't been to this Tommy's for almost 3 years. I was pretty excited to taste the chili and devour the chili fries and chili cheese burger.... BUT to my dismay, this location fell off. Most importantly the chili doesn't taste the same. I remember when this Tommy's location poured a grip of chili on a mound of fries and when you unwrap the famous yellow wrapper off the chili cheese burger/chili fries there would be a thick residue of chili- that you can scrap off with your fries.... Now, it's been clean up.... The mound of fries is now an ant hill.... Not much chili residue when unwrapping the burger/fries... After previous visits I would have given 4 or 5 stars but not after the last one. What the heck happened? I live @ 15 miles from Tommy's so only visit it when passing through town. This last visit was terrible. I ordered a #2 chili cheese combo,when I took two bites I noticed the 'beef?' patty was raw in the middle. The order was replaced with no issues but the 'patty' was still pink inside, that is pretty tough to undercook because it was only as thick as my straw or the tomato slice. This is one of my favorite places to go for chili cheese fries. Other places I go to, the portions are too large to finish in one sitting, and at Tommy's, it's just right. The menu is small, but not extraordinarily expensive. It's located conveniently on Huntington Drive in Monrovia. I love Tommy's been coming here since high school, Beverly and Rampart after parties, after Dodger games, late night Tommy's is always the go to spot. I still come here and while I understand that these outskirts stores are not, nor should they be like "the Shack" ,every time I come to this Monrovia location late night, they're always sweeping the dining room cleaning the rugs cleaning the tables kicking up dust all over the dining room. I understand and I love the fact that they are extremely clean and maintaining the restaurant I just wish they would wait till a little bit before closing to do it!!! ......
