I don't know if you can ever go wrong with Tommy's. It's comfort food. It's greasy, delicious, and hits the spot. Eating in and taking it to go, makes a HUGE difference in the taste of the food. When you dine in, the flavors are so much more aromatic and vegetables inside the burger that much crunchier. The fries are just so crispy and you can see the steam come off of the fry as you take a bite. If you order the chili cheese fries, you can actually witness the gooey cheese as you pull the fry out of the bunch when you dine in. So if you really want to enjoy Tommy's, dine in! read more

I have been a big fan of this location close to Cerritos College. Ive always been in delight as I score the chilli goodness on a hamburger or cheseburger from here. Okay so its good and all and you see all kinds of people come in and out. Now down to the bad news... my latest visit 2 days ago had me noticing something inside the restaurant. One of the biggest ROACHES I have ever seen!!!!!! It was against a seat just waiting for a chance to get to the chilli Im guessing. Being a long time fan of Tommy's I've eaten at a few locations (Hollywood, Orange County, Valencia, etc.) so it was a shock to receive the rude service I did today at this location. I love Tommy's chilli dogs & have for over 40 years. Unfortunately the one I recently had at the Norwalk location was not only subpar, it was pathetic. The hot dog was so dry and appeared wrinkled so I'm not sure what they did to it but it certainly didn't snap as they have forever. I love Tommy's but this location sucks! They always get the orders wrong! So my advice is always double check your order when they hand it to you because even tho you repeat the order when ordering they will still get it wrong and when you complain they act offended and rude! 2.5 Again... First of all, this place should really observe it's operating hours!!!! The door says closes at 3AM on Saturdays, not 2AM! I LOVE Tommy's. I notice people here are giving them bad reviews, but that's because of their service. Yes, there service can DEFINITELY be better, but the food is great! I absolutely love there chili! It's there own recipe and it's just SO good and filling. This is typical Tommy's food, but the worse service ever. The girl at the register was so rude, she didn't give us our receipt, which has the order number on it, until we asked for it. To begin with they got our order wrong at the register, and it seems that the workers don't know how to read their monitors because they ended up giving us more food than we ordered. Literally EVERYONE at the establishment who had already gotten their food, were complaining that their order was wrong. And i am by no means exaggerating when I say everyone was complaining. Only reason I didn't give all five stars was because of the long wait on busy nights and the fact they don't accept credit cards. But the wait is eventually worth it once you sink your teeth into that amazing chili. Amazing. Chili cheese fries are great. To start off this very rude I think manager her name was Roxana . She started off giving us horrible attitude . To start off you could barely understand anything they're saying I don't think she spoke very good English ,yet she still gives my husband attitude for not understanding her that well. I'm not a chili person but the location I tried before was not so bad.... so I was super excited to introduce my brothers and my boyfriend about this place while in the area. First of all, they call it fast food for a reason. My Mega Combo (cost around $15) order was made within less than 30 seconds. My brother's order was ready while he was placing his order. Usually I wouldn't have a problem, but fast service doesn't mean it's good. Chili was cold in all of our burger and fries. Super disappointed! Chili was bland and just disgusting. I have lived walking distance to this location for almost 20 years and I have eaten here many times. A review should be in order. Well, I understand the fondness for the chili, but in reality it isn't all that great. It's SUPER greasy although I have never gotten it cold like some people here complain. The fries on their own aren't very good, but the chili cheese with grilled onions makes a wonderful addition to them. Burgers are nothing special, but the chili makes the place right? The greasyness to the chili always makes me reluctant to come here more than maybe twice a year now. The feeling of a now waterproof tongue also makes it memorable.
