THE MISO SOUP IS A MUST TRY. I have miso everywhere, and this has been the best one in Columbus! They also have a lot of traditional dishes too if sushi isn't for you. The service was really nice. They didn't have alcohol yet as they haven't acquired their license but that should be coming in a few weeks. Got takeout tonight and discovered upon arriving home our receipt was attached to "not our order." Initially, we assumed we received just half of the order, so my husband went back for the other half. When he got there, I realized, no, actually, what I had was not any part of our order--most likely they just mixed it up--understandable enough. The staff seemed not to believe my husband and asked for photographic evidence. Which I sent--twice. Upon (somewhat begrudgingly, it seemed) acknowledging there had been a snafu, they remade our order. However, we got put in the back of the line, so it took another 50 minutes. The manager finally handed my husband the food and said, "If we made an error, we are sorry." We also received a $15 gift card to Oshio, which is kind of insult to injury, as we plan on never returning. Oh, and the sushi was beyond subpar. The hamachi had a huge portion of browning bloodline in it, which tells you, first, the sushi was not fresh and second, the chef didn't have the sense to pare that part away. COVID has been making it especially tough on restaurants, but after getting our order wrong, OSHIO should have 1) believed us 2) expedited the order and 3) made extra sure the sushi wasn't sad and old. Ive gotten food to go and ate here with friends. The nigiri here is pretty good but a little pricey. The fish is pretty fresh so I don't mind paying a little more. I've also had the udon here which was good but the base of the soup was a little sour. My friend got ramen and it was really salty so I would skip on the ramen. The sushi panini was really good, great combo of textures and flavors. Haven't had the specialty rolls here yet but will be back to try it. Service was great. read more

I have been excited to try Oshio because I've seen pictures of the sushi panini and other cool options on their menu. When I arrived, the restaurant wasn't what I was expecting. It looked more like a lunch spot than the dine-in sushi restaurants I've experienced in the past. But it was warm, clean, and very spacious! I ordered the edamame, California roll, shrimp tempura roll, and spicy crab panini. The edamame was over salted and the California roll and shrimp tempura rolls were a bit underwhelmng. They were both kind of dry. But the spicy crab panini was SO good and the portion size was great! I would go back and get that. I recommend you try it if you can! We got there for happy hour at 9:15 on a Friday. The happy hour is from 9-10:30pm on the weekend and they close at 10:30pm. It wasn't busy but the happy hour placement near closing time made me and my friend ultimately feel rushed. read more

As soon as I got to this place, I realized that the location wasn't great. It's located in a strip mall with other restaurants so the parking situation is bad around dinner time. I walked in and the greeter told me "just go sit at that table in the middle." I saw everyone in date attire while the waiters all wear jeans and some with greasy trucker hats. I took a look at the menu only to find out that every option to order was really expensive. This restaurant is extremely pricey for what is offered. While the amount of options is plentiful, the food is underwhelming and mediocre, as well as the atmosphere. This place is just like any other sushi establishment, if not worse, for double the price. I'd pay the amount on my check again if the service was spectacular, but it wasn't. The service was ungodly slow and I sat there ignored by the waiter every time he brought out food that wasn't mine. Our food took forever to get, and you know it's gonna be bad when there's a warning for how long it will take on the bottom of the menu. This experience was definitely forgettable. I wish I went to the Five Guys burgers or Papa Johns next door instead. read more

I visited on the first Saturday after they opened. As a rule, I won't post a review of a restaurant until a month has passed, because everyone deserves a chance to work out the kinks. I'm pleased to report that I didn't encounter any on our visit. Our family sampled a lot: we had a couple of different rolls, the ramen, the teriyaki chicken, the tonkatsu chicken, and a bento box (spicy tuna roll and bulgogi). Everything we ordered was tasty and fresh, and our waiter was very friendly and solicitous/eager to please. The space itself is quite nice, too . . . more refined than the last tenant, but still comfortably casual. I think this restaurant might become a mainstay for us. We were passing through this area looking for a quick sashimi meal and happened upon Oshio. It was early in the evening around dinner time so we thought why not stop here. The atmosphere was as welcoming as the young gentleman who seated us. Our waitress took our order which was two deluxe sashimi dinners. Food arrived fairly quickly but I was surprised to see that miso soup or minimally a small salad wasn't included with our meals. At $29.95 per meal we were disappointed. We ordered carry out from here that was basically not what was advertised on their menu. I strongly dislike cucumbers and specifically ordered rolls without them, but when we got the food both rolls had cucumbers in them. I found this annoying, but it always worries me when restaurants do not take their menu seriously as some people have allergies. It seemed like they used the menu description as inspiration and then did what they wanted. The rolls we ordered were similar to one another, but they basically looked like the same thing, it was hard to decipher what was what. The standard salmon avocado was good, but I would stay away from their more expensive specialty rolls. We also ordered the calamari, which was awful. It was gummy and way over fried. My wife and I went back to Oshio and dined in the restaurant this time and I felt I needed to write a follow up review. Another fantastic experience! Our server was very knowledgeable and passionate about the restaurant. We tried the red dragon roll and both of us really enjoyed it. My wife is always looking for a good soup option and she found it in the spinach dumpling soup. SOO TASTY!!! Finally we split the fire Chicken. It was very delicious with the right amount of heat. I don't typically write reviews but I was less than impressed with the service. This is my second visit to osho and the first wasn't much better. Problem 1: no dedicated host to seat me Problem 2: I came in during happy hour a few minutes before someone else and the woman after me was seated and nearly immediately brought water. Problem 3: I asked her server if u could get water, he said oh your server will be with you- mind you it's not busy- help your fellow server out. Problem 4: my food was brought out on a dirty looking cutting board... at first it didn t register, but then I thought are you kidding me? I then took it back up to them and asked for a new plate. My server looked confused but didn t put the food on a cleaner serving plate. I should have asked for new food but at this point I was ready to just leave. Don't think I'll be going back. This new place fell into a simliar trope as a lot of new restaurants, lack of waitstaff to serve customers for both dine-in and takeaway. Additionally, for being so new I would've expected to see a manager on the floor trying to direct the seemingly overwhelmed waiters; not the case. When we finally got our food it was lukewarm and the sushi was haphazardly assembled. When reheated, the spicy garlic chicken was pretty good, but not good enough for me to come back and waste time on these joker's. read more

Fine, so I settled with chicken bulgogi, which turned out to be more like chicken with teriyaki sauce.
