Complete let down. Called ahead and made reservation for 5 adults & 5 kids. Table was ready and it was busy when we arrived. LITERALLY took 1 1/2 hours to get our food, which was primarily appetizers. Server made multiple apologies, but several tables came in and had food before we got our first apology. Majority of our section had cleared before we got our food. Some of the kids meals were cold. Gumbo roux WAY over browned, very thick and nutty. Too dark. Boudin balls were just seasoned meatballs. NOT RICE BASED??!! That's not boudin. Nachos were very basic. Sliders mediocre at best. Everything was very bland; nonexistent seasoning. Couldn't have been more disappointed. Used to love this place but see it slowly going the wrong direction. Tonight was a perfect example of that. Walked into a 30 minute wait at about 7pm; no big deal it's Friday night. Come to find out there were at least 10 tables inside and about 10 tables outside sitting cleaned and open. I asked the host why and he said the kitchen was short-handed and small?? Friday night at one of the more popular places in a town of 100,000 people with a growing national beer brand and they can't get their kitchen in their flagship restaurant in order? I have to say, this place was awesome! Everything from the old school arcade games to the service was amazing. The beer was tasty as always and the food exceeded my expectations. Pro tip for any servers out there. When your customer has kids, you will win them over instantly if you ask them if they want to get an order placed for them right away. This is exactly what our server did. Best customer service we have had in a very long time at any restaurant. Apart from the excellent service, our food was delicious and reasonably priced. I ordered the chicken Bahn Mi sandwich and let me tell you, they nailed it! I have been on a big Bahn Mi obsession lately and this sandwich did not disappoint. We have loved this place since it opened. Our most recent visit, however, wasn't up to par, and it makes us worry they're going downhill. First off, we are all for giving grace during a pandemic. Of course, restaurants have had to adapt and change during all of this covid weirdness. However, OB has shrunk their entire menu, removing many of their staple items which defined their brand (ie: all of the Cajun stuff, pizza). The food that remained is the same stuff you could find anywhere- burgers, sandwiches, and salads. They've also remodeled, removing all of the bright, colorful kitschy artwork and junk from the walls, leaving it pretty bland inside. It could be any corporate chain. The BBQ was under seasoned and desperately needed salt. Same with the fish and chips. The salad was fresh and very good. Of course, the beers that remain are delicious, as always. Service was great. Leaving the restaurant, we all felt sad. This didn't feel at all like the OB we know and love. Wish this last visit was better. When I first ate here about 10 years ago, it was bomb, but more recently it's not not like it used to be. The fried pickles are my favorite, but still not as good as they used to be, as they kind of lack flavor or salt or something. This last time I ordered their Turkey croissant sandwich. Not what I had planned to order, but was exactly what I wanted at that moment when I saw it on the menu. A refreshing Turkey sandwich, on a hot day, with Swiss cheese, tomato and avocado on a fluffy croissant. It arrived at the table as a hot sandwich...what? The Turkey was dried out from being on the grill, the little cheese that was there was melted and I could not taste it at all and the croissant was warm, hard and dried out. I was disappointed as soon as it arrived at the table. I also never order sweet potato fries, but decided to change it up, and they were just ok, not super hot and kind of wilted, not crispy. We were suppose to be out hiking but the weather turned dark, rainy, and cloudy so we took the opportunity to explore the Boulder area instead. We were excited to see an Oskar Blues and decided to stop for some beers and an appetizer. The outside and inside are decorated pretty cool. It's got a rustic brewery feel with a modern bro twist. First impression was that this is a cool hangout bar. The happy hour menu looked pretty cool with decent prices. Lots of yummy southern inspired eats like cheddar grits and shrimp, fried oysters and catfish, man I was getting pumped. We took a seat at the bar and the bar tender took 5 minutes to acknowledge us despite there being a solid 5-7 people total at the bar. We asked him for a food menu ans he looked annoyed and told us to wait. He finally brought us a menu after another 5 minutes.... My patience was wearing thin especially considering he only managed to fill 2 beers for other people the whole time we were waiting. The final straw was when 2 guys came in and sat at the bar and the bar tender runs over to them and says "Gentlemen! How about a drink!" almost immediately. I really want to like this place. Honestly, I do, but every time we're going there for dinner I wish we were going somewhere else. The beer here is great, though the waitstaff hardly ever knows what to recommend or how to answer any questions based around it. Music is usually worth going for, but don't come here if you're looking to have an actual conversation with the people you came with, it's very loud at all times. The food is decent -The BBQ options smoked in house are the best way to go-, but the service is (more often than not) just beyond terrible. I try to make it a point to only visit places with bad service if the food is stellar. Here's a little list of varied "service" we've received: - Had an 8 person group, were told we couldn't even sit down until our waiter came in (they weren't scheduled to work for another 15 minutes) - After the Bolder Boulder, everyone in our group ordering beer got carded, including the people obviously over 40, which was strange, but...ok...sure. One woman in our party had just lost her ID that day at the race, and was consequently denied a beer. She's in her 40s and looks it. - On at least a couple occasions we've been ignored for over 10-15 minutes. - Appetizers for a group of 7 came without plates. When we asked for plates they brought two. When we asked for a plate for everyone the guy was surprised, and still shorted us a plate. - Drink refills for the entire table have been neglected multiple times (in cases of water and tea, even until the end of the meal) Those are the main ones I remember at the moment, I'll add more in later. This is one awesome brewery. I'm so grateful to them for putting on an amazing beer fest like Burning Can and giving me an excuse to come here every year. My favorite beer here is Gubna and it goes really well with their shrimp po boy. I've only been here on the weekend and there's a wait to get a table but I think it's well worth it. The interior and patio is very spacious which makes this an ideal place for a large party. I came for the wings...I stayed for the beer. OB has become one of my favorites. Their wings are among the best I've EVER had. 2lbs of their Smokin' Wings hits the spot each time. They are both fried and smoked. CRAZY flavor. Then they are coated in either their Habanero Blues Juice hot sauce, or Chub Juice hot sauce. I haven't figured out which I like more, so I go for 1/2 & 1/2. The beer selection is insane. My fav is the Deviant Dale's. If they ever have it on the Nitro tap, you're in for a treat! Was visiting Longmont for about a month and this was a go-to spot. Love Oskar Blues beer, more specifically the G'Knight, Old Chub and Can O Bliss series. They have great live music that plays several nights each week and the vibe is really laid back, which is right up my alley. Was advised not to eat their food by several people in the area who have told me their kitchen is disgusting. Usually if one person tells me then I will write it off but not when nearly everyone tells me. The beer is cheap, $5 for 8+%IPA, which is nearly two beers worth of alcohol. The reason for the 3 stars is the food situation and the staff. If I could use a word to describe it overall, awkward. For instance, I gave a bartender a nice tip one night then came back a week or so later and he proceeded to tell me that he wouldn't give anyone a free beer just because of a nice tip. Not sure if he had profiled me by my looks and expected me to ask him for a free beer or if that is just common conversation for him but needless to say I made sure to get the other bartenders when I came back the next time. Also, it seems to me that most of the time I am in there, there are about 4-5 females working their asses off in this place and 17 (exaggeration) others standing around doing nothing at one end of the bar. They also have private conversations and giggle amongst each other which makes it awkward not knowing if they are laughing at you or not. If I ever went back, would definitely just get a beer and either head upstairs or outside away from any and all staff. read more

We've been to the downtown Denver location and enjoy the food and drinks a lot, so after my daughter had a softball tournament nearby we decided to check out the Longmont location. The food is well priced and large servings. My daughter and I both had the burger of the day, which was cooked exactly as we ordered it. She had regular fries and I had sweet potato fries and they did not disappoint. My husband had the chicken nachos which were huge - enough so that he brought home half of it. They have an extensive beer list, including many other Colorado brewery offerings, but I truly was there to drink Death by Coconut. I have yet to find a better coconut flavored beer! I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. The sandwich was all right, but the fries were phenomenal. Super crispy on the outside, and melt-in-your-mouth creamy on the inside. Yum. There were also a couple of pickles for garnish on the plate -- those were kinda tasty too -- I'm thinking they were brined in-house. My friend ordered some sort of chicken sandwich with the crab-corn fritters. Now those fritters sounded delightful, but they turned out to be heavy and bland (but maybe that's how they're supposed to be? I know next to nothing about Southern food ...) My friend said that they could have used some sort of dipping sauce. We had half-pints of beer ... and their half-pint glasses are kinda cute (but not really cute enough to make up for the fact that you're paying what you'd expect to pay for a full pint). The service - We visited on a Sunday and it was relatively slow so we were sat immediately but it took ages for our server to finally greet us and wasn't any different during the whole, almost 2 hours, we were there. It took seriously forever for him to come over and he never once checked to see how our food was. The food - Great! I ordered the Turkey Reuben and my boyfriend ordered the Sunday special of the "Walk of Shame" - 2 biscuits and gravy, fried chicken tenders, smoked brisket, bacon, crawfish etouffee and grits. I come for the beer and people watching. This is a brew/pub atmosphere with booths and tables. The outside seating is a real plus in the summer. There is a large room upstairs that can be rented out. Outside has a sandbox for the kids and a water feature that turns into a pool for the kids on hot days. This place is laid back. The music programs are great. Most are regional or local blues and jazz musicians. The beer is legendary. They have created some tastes and sauces you cannot find anywhere else - very unique. The food is on the pricey side for what you get. Service is highly dependent on the server - some are great, others are...well.....pretty slow and sometimes disappear for long periods of time. Don't be afraid to get up and ask for service or simply say "keep my beer glass full and life is good", this tends to get their attention. read more
