I was visiting from out of town with my wife and 4 kids and was told that it was a fifteen minute wait, which I was happy with and decided to wait. 45 minutes later I asked about our table and was told it would be another 30 minutes at least. Our group ordered the chicken parm sub, white pizza and the two beef on weck sliders w/6 wings. We enjoyed it all. The white pizza I couldn't put down...ate more than I should have. Beef was tender and wings cooked right. The chicken parm looked awesome and that is what I will order next time. My cousin enjoyed it too. read more

Well, I have to say the taste of the food is the reason for the extra star I am giving it, I would give it 3 because the service was a bit (how do I word this) horrible. They seemed disorganized to say the least. They should be communicating better, this is a team effort. Like I said, the taste was good, my mother was born in Italy so I get good Italian food all the time, but this was pretty great. The portions were huge but I'm not complaining. It's Christmas Eve and I ordered a small tray of roast beef for $55 plus tax. I asked how much was in a small lb wise. I was told after they checked with the kitchen it was 4-5 lbs. that was great to have for my family. My sister picked up and it look and felt light...I weighed it on a regular scale and it was 3.2 lbs...(also took a 5 lb bag of flour and it was right on the nose.). I found my food scale and it was 3.2 lbs. At first when I called the manager apologized and offered to get another lb ready for me , but I told her I am from South Buffalo and it's quite a distance. She asked me to hold on and went to talk to the kitchen. She said they filled it to the top and could not fill anymore..BS. EACH SLICE WAS BALLED UP AND PLACED IN PAN. If I took out 10 tissues from a box and balled them up it would over take the box. This woman manager was so defense and firm and rude, what a switch. If they would had sliced the meat and placed flat in container, it would had been the 4-5 lbs. I spent $18 per lb for that tray...outrageous!! I had a birthday party there for my dad last year, cost me over 700 dollars...I'm not afraid to spend money..but to be talked to and was dealt with that way I won't tolerate!! I went to say more, being very calm and she hung up on me...mind blown..never will they get another dime from me or my family! This was the worst place to eat. The fish fry (three times brought out) were greasy and cold. We finally requested to talk to the manager but the waitress insisted she would take care of us. She immediately took our dishes/food away from in front of us and grabbed the check/bill and walked away. Service- Asked for a couple of things and the server kept forgetting. Things like salad dressing for one of the salads, Toothpicks, refill on the drinks, etc. Food- Soup and salads were good. Entree was another thing. Lasagna tasted like microwaved left overs, chicken parmigiana was not good- piece of breast, half of it was tough and hard like it was dried out and sauce was like they took canned sauce and mixed tomato paste and sugar with it- very thick and pasty-sweet tasting. This same paste was on the lasagna and stuffed noodles too. other dish just was not flavorful at all-like the rest of the food, tasted old and microwaved. will not go back. We went in for lunch, shame us, the owner was sitting a few tables away obviously upset while on the phone with the merchant processor about something, meanwhile a waitress sat next to him and ate her lunch, that was professional. The service seemed a little slow for how slow they were, my companion and I both ordered the lunch chicken parm, mine tasted fine, not the best but for $6 was good, his he kept getting pieces of fat and gristle and said towards the end he felt sick, on the way he threw up on the side of the road. You gotta have a great Friday Fish Fry to get 5 stars and Otto's doesn't. Pros: Service was good. Prices are reasonable. Cons: Fish filet was smaller than usual, German Potato Salad was bland, macaroni salad was commercial. Another star subtracted because only option on fish is either beer battered or broiled. Breaded or Panko option is pretty much standard nowadays and Otto's is oblivious. Once again I was left wondering why my broiled fish was half the size of the beer battered portion at the same price. It's like most restaurants save the smaller fillets for either the cat or unsuspecting customer that orders a little healthier fare. Five stars awaits the restaurant that will give me the same big whale sized plate filling fillet broiled. read more

My wife and I visit Otto's 3 to 4 times a week. Needless to say we really enjoy the food and the prices. Don't let the name throw you off. The owner is from Italy and prepares not only great Italian dishes, but at prices you can afford. Portions are very generous and takeout containers when you leave are pretty much the norm. We rarely finish a meal. They have remodeled and now have a great patio with wheelchair access inside and out. If you need a catered facility for Christmas, Birthdays, Stag Parties or Funeral Breakfast, they have very reasonable rates and great choices for package deals. We have been customers for about 10-12 years and would be lost if they ever closed. This is a family owned and operated business that works every day to keep the quality high and the prices affordable. Chances are you will be back. Just passing through town and Its been twenty years since my last visit, so we decided to stop in before heading back. Wish we could say something nice because of the old memories and because local's still like the place - unfortunately this visit was a huge disappointment and an expensive lesson. Usually the kids are pretty forgiving when it comes to deep fried food, but couldn't overcome it today. Maybe it was just a bad day, but the stuffed peppers are microwaved? The plate was covered in water and butter. One order of wings cooked poorly. Ate one, in to the garbage with the rest. Pizza - hot crust, cold toppings. 6 slices served, 5 in to the garbage. Even the fries went in to the garbage. The waitress didn't even seem perplexed as $90 worth of food went straight from plate, then directly back to her. Well I can assure you that this reputation is either completely wrong, or that all of these people who like this place have zero taste. The French Onion Soup was passable, at best. The Chicken parm has got to be the worst meal served in all of Christendom. The sauce had a sickly sweet taste mixed the faint tinge of mold. The "chicken"aspect of this dish was clearly a frozen pre formed patty. Complete with inedible grizzle. MMMMMM sounds so great right? The wait satf can only be described as hapless. The eyes of the old crone serving us became glazed over when he asked her even the simplest question about the food on the menu. She even keeled over whilst delivering our dishes and nearly broke her hip. Needles to say we never saw her again after that. I assume she is now being served up to innocent patrons in a meatball sub later this evening. They chased me out the door when they realized I forgot my boxed leftovers, I kindly left the box in the parking lot. I also expectorated the rest of my meal on the side of the road on the drive back to my office. This food is an offense to the Italian culture. "My husband and I decided to place a to-go order on Friday night. I called and ordered two Seafood Platters (which is supposed to come with clam strips, fried shrimp, clams casino, and a piece of beer-battered haddock) and an order of their stuffed hot peppers appetizer. The bartender is the person who takes phone orders. When I asked for the Seafood Platters, she asked me to hold and then came back on the line and advised that they were out of the fried shrimp but that we could have extra of any of the other seafood offered on the platter; I asked for an extra piece of haddock on both platters. I picked up the order and neglected to check it before leaving the restaurant. When I got home and opened the containers, I found that I had been given a full fish fry, a seafood sampler with shrimp (which she had said that they didn't have), haddock (with an extra piece as requested), clam strips, and no clams casino (which she had made no mention about not having), and a completely burnt and stuck-to-the-pan order of hot stuffed peppers. The total of what I was charged reflected that I was charged for 2 seafood samplers. To recap--the order was wrong, the peppers were burnt, and we were overcharged. My husband called, in hopes of some type of customer service or compensation. The bartender whom we placed the order with was put on the phone. My husband told her what we had ordered and what we received. He was advised that our order was as it was placed and that it was correct. He responded and said that what was ordered was two seafood samplers and that what was received was a seafood sampler with shrimp, the extra piece of haddock, no clams casino, and a regular fish fry. The bartender advised that no one at Otto's would have ever offered more of something else on the platter if they were out of one component (so basically calling me a liar). Hysterical, since the seafood platter we received had an extra piece of haddock as requested after the offer was made to us by the bartender (who then retracted when my husband called and said such a thing would never be offered). At this point, we had not seen the burnt stuffed peppers, so that never even made it into the conversation. The phone call ended with us being told that we were wrong and that the order we received was correct. No offer of any kind of compensation. This will be our last encounter EVER with Otto's. Some of the worst customer serivce I have ever experienced. They should be ashamed." read more
